You would think most of the fatalities are happening when hunting in a group, and someone gets Dick Cheney'd. I don't see how anyone has a accidental discharge deer hunting. I don't even take the safety off until I see a deer. I can completely believe deer hunting having an insanely low fatality rate.

President Biden unveiled a half-dozen executive actions designed to combat gun violence on Thursday.

The orders look to introduce new regulations on “ghost gun” kits that can be assembled at home. They also call on Congress and states to pass red flag laws that can prevent a firearm purchase by someone deemed a threat to themselves or others; increase funding to community violence intervention programs; and introduce an annual report on firearm tracking from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

“Gun violence in this country is an epidemic and it’s an international embarrassment,” said Biden during his remarks in the Rose Garden. He said gun violence is “estimated to cost the nation $280 billion a year” through “hospital bills, physical therapy, trauma counseling, legal fees, prison costs and the loss of productivity.”

I think that if someone who doesn't own a gun wakes up tomorrow morning and says "I think I want to buy a gun" there's no way that person would have a gun when they go to bed tomorrow night

I don't know what the process should be but the process for "I think I want to buy a gun" should be less "I think I want to buy a computer" and more "I think I want to adopt a baby"

Yep I agree he was not wrong but my god you need to look at your life if that is what you think you need to leave the house.

The real problem here is people have real fear that most people don't have. I have never thought I needed to be carrying to get thru the day. If I did I would change my life if possible.


The thing I think I am most happy about is the kits sold so any idiot with a drill an a file can make a untraceable gun on the cheap. That legal loophole should have been closed instantly.

Nothing ghost guns could have possibly been good for americans exception being the idiots selling and buying them.

A report produced by the Firearm Industry Trade Association noted a nearly 60% increase in firearm sales among Black women and men in 2020. And when you consider all buyers, the organization said more than 8.4 million people purchased a firearm for the first time last year.

“We had been seeing the market shift over time,” said Mark Oliva, Director of Public Affairs for the Firearm Industry Trade Association. “It was looking less like me (a white man) and more like the rest of America. We’re seeing more African Americans, more Hispanics, more Asian Americans, and we’re seeing more women buy guns.”

Many of these new gun owners are finding support and community from several gun rights organizations including The National African American Gun Association better known as ‘NAAGA’. It boasts 45,000 members nationwide since its inception in 2015..........

“I had very civil arguments with folks from about 2015 up until last year,” said Philip Smith, founder and president of NAAGA. “They say, ‘Hey, Phil. I respect you. You’re a good guy. The organization is a good organization, but I personally don’t believe in guns.”

Smith found out that the pandemic, however, proved to be a game changer for at least some people that were on the fence about buying a gun.

“Once COVID hit, that was the line in the sand,” said Smith passionately. “You had to sit there and say, ‘Is there going to be a total breakdown of social order? Is there going to be food for my family? Will we have gas? Will everything crumble in our general society and will we literally have to fight people off?”............
