Thanks for the graphs proving what I say is true--school violence has increased since the 50s and 60s, but some insisted I was wrong.

You’ve repeatedly claimed that school violence began escalating after school prayer was abandoned in 1960. However, your argument is flawed because you claim a graph starting in 1982 support this claim, ignoring a significant factor: gun laws were weakened after that date.

When one looks, one sees that incidents experienced a downturn in the 1960's, immediately followed by a massive increase in the following decades. I don't know why it show a decrease in the 60 's or why it occurred.
It is undeniable by any measure that school violence had dramatically increased since the 50's, the increase from the 40's was massive, as was the increase in the 70's and 80's.

Wiki is not the best source of statistics because the way that data is entered in it. This is a data driven source which reflects actual proven numbers. Also the WIKI includes all shootings. Including attacks on administrators who was anti-segregation and which would not really fit what we describe as school shootings today,

No sane person would ever believe there was MORE violence in schools in the 50s and 60s than after. It is INSANE thinking not based in ANY fact.
Show me what you got showing those decades experienced greater rates of violence.

I’ve not been following you and I’ve been absent for the last month

My posts are here to read or not. But if you are going to comment on my posts, you should at least read them first.
But sure, I'll REPEAT some of what I would like to see happen.

No one convicted on ANY violent crime ever gets to own a gun again.
Mandatory sentences for any crime committed with a gun, and prosecutors willing to prosecute like that instead of making deals ad dropping gun charges. I am okay with gun charge sentences not being allowed to run concurrently with other sentences. Prosecute everyone who lies on gun registration forms. We have lots of laws regarding ownership of guns, but relatively few prosecutions for things like lying on forms.
Registration of all firearms. Mandatory training classes before ownership. Holding gun owners accountable for allowing access to their guns by others.

The point @Texan1211 is making, related to this year’s death by gun is down, as if the problem is solved. Even at reduced rates, the ‘death by gun’ rate is unacceptably high, 3-5 mass shootings a month in 2024. The gun lobby has an abundance of ‘thoughts and prayers’ to hand out, but nothing of substance. A lot of talk in general about mental illness comes from the right, as the culprit, but the bottom line, they will not do what it takes to screen for mental illness among gun owners, because it would be inconvenient, and would result in a loss of their political support.
