This could go in several threads but deserves one of its own. Apparently, the suspect got into the home and was looking for the Speaker. The police saw some of the attack and the spouse is in surgery. Social media accounts point to him being an election denier. This is pretty forked up.

Do you associate skepticism with apathy?
I associate your particular skepticism as an inability to process anything without a right-wing lens.

So you do admit, that I, in fact, did not say it, but you 'assumed' I said it. Uma Thurman does not find it funny.

But in order to get away from the 'gotcha' questions about my emotional response to a traumatic event that did not involve me, the answer to your question is: sure. Do I feel bad for an old man that got hit in the head by a hammer, yep.

Do you associate skepticism with apathy?

You do not have empathy for Paul Pelosi, because the liberals didn't have it for Squee's drinking buddy.

You allow liberals to dictate your morality.

Ok, despite what I just said, you got it. I could not care less if some thinks I have 'empathy' or not. If you say I don't, cool.

So, do you think curiosity and not jumping to a conclusion, or critical thinking shows apathy?

@Farb, still waiting on your examples..
If you want to admit there are none, i'll accept that. If you keep ignoring it, i'll accept that you are butt hurt that you lied and made that statement up and can't back it up with more lies.

If you want to admit there are none, i'll except that. If you keep ignoring it, i'll accept that you are butt hurt that you lied and made that statement up and can't back it up with more lies.
Wait! @Farb made a baseless accusation with no proof whatsoever and then when he got called out on it refused to admit he lied?

Again?!?

Oh, I didn't know you were still following me around. Yeah, go with the crazy dude showing up and trying to execute Kav and his family. Are we still talking about empathy or something?

An act that was condemned by pretty much everyone. I don't recall seeing any memes or comments or posts where people mocked Kavanaugh or perpetuated conspiracy theories that it was just a lover's quarrel. You know... displays of empathy.

No, I didn't see that either. Most were about him completing the job and more police needed to be defunded so that guy wouldn't be caught before hand.
But you everyone can continue that empathy is only lacking on one side of the political isle. That is fine with me as I don't do empathy a whole lot myself.

I never saw any of that nonsense. Where did you see it? Was it high ranking members of the Democratic Party? Sitting US Senators? TV Anchors?

Show us. Or admit you’re pushing another false equivalency.

I didn't see any of that. But I did see the White House and Justice Department condemn it. Can you provide examples of someone mocking the incident like Don Jr did or propagating conspiracy theories like many right-wing media sources have?

Do you feel that being empathetic is a weakness?

The secret conservative Christians don't want you to know is the Holy Trinity refers to the dark triad.

People on this board were practically having a bible study in the abortion thread with this dude, unbelievable.

I don't think any politicians would say anything like that, that would suicide for them. Not sure on anchors because I generally don't get my news from MSNBC or motherjones. I am not going to bring the internet to you.

Why do my personal thoughts on emotions have to do with anything? I think you guys like to use 'irrelevant'.

Okay, good, that is what I thought. And yet we had all of those types of people making jokes, spreading lies about Mr. Pelosi. And that is the difference between the right and the left at this point in history. It’s an important part of the reason I went from being independent and not identifying with any political party to being what is probably best described as anti-Republican. Which essentially makes me pro-Democratic because I don’t believe in throwing away my vote on someone who has no chance to win.
