Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Was this Trump $59.99 Bible story posted anywhere yet?

Yeah. I read a point I hadn’t considered made by someone on Twitter. Mega churches aren’t allowed to contribute directly to Trump, but they can buy these bibles, so it seems like it might be a way to launder some evangelical money directly from these huge churches into Trump’s campaign.

    🤷‍♀️

Former president Donald Trump disseminated on social media on Friday an image of President Biden with his hands and feet tied and his mouth gagged, the latest example of the Republican candidate’s use of increasingly violent rhetoric and imagery this campaign season.

The image can be seen about halfway through a 20-second video that Trump posted on his Truth Social site. The post says it was recorded Thursday on Long Island, where Trump traveled this week to attend a wake for a recently killed police officer.

In the video, two trucks decorated with giant Trump flags and altered American flags are driving on a highway. On the tailgate door of one of the trucks is the image of Biden lying horizontally, bound and gagged.

Similar images of Biden have been circulating on social media for months, if not years, on sites including Instagram, Reddit and Twitter, before the platform changed its name to X. In February, the popular World Star Hip Hop site posted a video of a truck it said was in California featuring such an image……

Curious what the poll result would be now
    ===========================
……Yet embracing Trump has required many conservative Christians to adjust some of their beliefs quite radically.

Consider the astonishing results of a PRRI-Brookings Institution poll that asked whether “an elected official who commits an immoral act in their personal life can still behave ethically and fulfill their duties in their public and professional life.”

In 2011, only 30 percent of White evangelicals agreed with the statement.

But a couple of weeks before the 2016 election, 72 percent agreed, a much bigger swing than was recorded among other religious groups……..

Maybe one of the explanations to how 72 % managed to agree with that statement was because of one single 2 letter word..."an"
"....who commits AN immoral act in their personal life...." ...."an" immoral act means a one time mistake...correct?
No one on earth lives a 100% sinless life.
So based on the wording of the poll, it was easy for the poll respondents to give Trump a pass.
If the wording had mentioned "repeated", "habitual", "grievous"...examples like that....I would hope that the poll results would be different.
Yet I hope for many things and I'm constantly disappointed.

His other money laundering scheme or a pump and dump if you prefer:

If you wanted to circumvent campaign finance law this is one way of doing it.

Truth Social has a microscopic user base compared to every other major social media platform. It made less money then some waffles houses last year.

Joe's campaign needs to push back HARD on this. Forget going defensive and saying it's the same day it always is, this one just happens to coincide with Easter..that's a losing strategy.

What they ought to do is post a statement excoriating the Right for even having a problem with it.

"How dare they assume to speak for all Christians? How dare they pervert the message of Christ. The Redeemer loves and cares for ALL people, from lepers to lords. Trying to say He would not is the true blasphemy. These performative-outrage hucksters need to turn away from the hate-filled false messiah they worship and find the real Jesus."

The Very Stable Genius is glitching again.

This week, he announced that he is not — repeat, NOT — planning to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

He apparently forgot that he had vowed over and over again to do exactly that, saying as recently as a few months ago that Republicans “should never give up” on efforts to “terminate” Obamacare.

“I’m not running to terminate the ACA, AS CROOKED JOE BUDEN DISINFORMATES AND MISINFORMATES ALL THE TIME,” the Republican nominee wrote this week on his Truth Social platform.

Rather, he said, he wants to make Obamacare better for “OUR GREST AMERICAN CITIZENS.”

    Joe Buden disinformates and misinformates?

For a guy trying to make an issue of his opponent’s mental acuity, this was not, shall we say, a grest look.

The previous day, Trump held a news conference at which he nailed some equally puzzling planks onto his platform.
“We’ll bring crime back to law and order,” he announced.

Also: “We just had Super Tuesday, and we had a Tuesday after a Tuesday already.”

And, most peculiar of all: “You can’t have an election in the middle of a political season.”

If he can’t recall that elections frequently do overlap with political seasons, then he surely can’t be expected to remember what was happening at this point in 2020. “ARE YOU BETTER OFF THAN YOU WERE FOUR YEARS AGO?” he asked last week.

The poor fellow must have forgotten all about the economic collapse and his administration’s catastrophic bungling of the pandemic.

Or maybe he didn’t forget. Maybe he’s just hoping the rest of us will forget.

In a sense, Trump’s prospects for 2024 rely on Americans experiencing mass memory loss: Will we forget just how crazy things were when he was in the White House? And will we forget about the even crazier things he has said he would do if he gets back there?…..
