Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

……Nikki Haley, Trump’s sole remaining rival for the Republican presidential nomination, speculated he would siphon campaign cash from the Republican National Committee (RNC) to pay at least some of it.

“I don’t want the RNC to become his piggy bank for his personal court cases,” she told CNN’s The Source.

“We’ve already seen him spend $50m worth of campaign contributions … Now we see him trying to get control of the RNC so that he can continue not to have to pay his own legal fees.”

Trump has moved to install his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, as co-chair of the RNC, with other loyalists in leadership positions……

Question for @superchuck500 or whoever would know

When (or if) Trump does start paying who gets paid first New York or E Jean Carroll?

    How does that work?

Carroll because that judgement was delivered first?

New York because it’s the larger amount?

Whichever is deemed the bigger more serious crime or who was damaged more?

Would a court have to decide who gets paid first if they both think they should?

Trump is amazed that watermarks exist. Just imagine if Biden was this clueless:

We won’t hear anything about this until it’s over, but it looks like the IRS is actually auditing Trump now. After years of him lying about being audited.

Same guy hates Biden and claims to be barely scraping by because a dozen eggs costs more than it used to
That’s exactly what I was thinking. Or even this angle: Trump wants us to think the US economy is terrible and people are really struggling, and then he starts hawking $399 sneakers?

Nobody gets paid as long as there are appeals lodged and appellate bonds posted. But interest will run and the interest (especially on the NY judgment) is substantial. After that, it becomes a collection issue - they don’t just automatically take money. Because they are both civil judgments, there are no rules for which takes priority unless it gets into a bankruptcy or civil seizure situation. I would presume the older judgment has priority but I’m not sure exactly how that plays out.

    ======================

The first “official” piece of Trump merchandise gels well with two of the former president’s favourite things – America, and himself.

The bright gold high-top shoes are emblazoned with a large “T” on the side, with the US flag stitched around the collar, providing “both style and comfort” and described as “perfect for any Trump supporter”.

Customers are once again being offered to “be a part of history” by buying the shoes, with only 1000 pairs supposedly being made.

Each pair is numbered and “at least 10 pairs” will be autographed by Mr Trump, according to the website selling the shoes.

“They’re for the go-getters who don’t know the word quit. With a standout gold finish and the ‘T’ badge, these kicks are for true Patriots,” a description reads.

“Wrapped with an American flag on the collar, they shout out to the brave and the free. The Never Surrender sneakers are your rally cry in shoe form. Lace-up and step out ready to conquer.”
