Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Yeah. I’m upset by fraud. But there is nothing I can do or you can do to stop it.

Enjoy your day.

So this is your response to obvious Maga republican providing "fraudulent evidence" at an official hearing? If it was Biden who had done that you would have spend 10 pages repeating that but when republicans commit open fraud it is just "nothing I can do or you can do to stop it."

Well if you have been reading this thread, we have discussed this topic at length for days.

So there is really nothing more to say. You don’t like corruption. I don’t like corruption. Nobody on this board likes corruption. But the political parties aren’t going to do anything to address the corruption problem. It is too widespread and it is unreasonable to believe we can eliminate the problem. So I guess we learn to live with it.

I don’t control what party leadership does and neither do you. So while I share your concern regarding corruption, there is little to nothing I can do to stop it.

Continue whining about Trump.

Firing people by the thousands
Attacking the press, education, science, the environment
Gutting scientific and medical research, disaster preparation and worldwide humanitarian aid
Deporting people with no due process and no criminal records to violent prisons
Dismantling diversity and inclusion initiatives
Diminishing global reputation built over a century
Incompetent and corrupt administration and cabinet full of known racists, sexists and sexual abusers
Violating court orders and disregarding laws up to and including the Constitution of the United States

@TampaJoe says "Quit yer birchin n whinin'!"

Nah. I was referring to corruption. You can whine as much as you please about the rest. Whine on.

This is essentially his response.

Something that certainly could impact future elections is cryptobros and their money. I read that fully 40% of Trump’s net worth is now due to his multiple crypto coin scams. He’s becoming as wealthy as he used to pretend to be due to this slush scheme. No accountability, no way to know which billionaires or which foreign governments are buying influence with him.

There is a lot we needed to sort out over the past three decades of rapid tech growth and wealth creation. Generally speaking, we needed to establish stricter regulations and enforce existing ones, and aggressively tax extreme wealth hoarding. Instead, companies like Facebook were able to acquire other social media and tech companies, suppressing competition, and giving people like Zuckerberg outrageous personal wealth - and wealth is power.

I really don't think we'll get through this trying to rely on the same vulnerable and manipulated democratic processes that got us here. For years, I think there has been this anticipation of a groundswell of the electorate finally being scared straight and that just hasn't happened in the way it would have needed to.

If the system was already badly corroded because billionaires could buy outsized influence, handing the government over to them, outright, means the challenges to wresting power away have only grown exceptionally more difficult.

Trump and the rest of the vulture class are going to spend the next three years amassing wealth and securing power, with no indications that anything really stands in their way. People really need to get over any belief that the worst can't happen in our future because of the myth of American Exceptionalism. In reality, our relatively short history is one of a controlling class who have persistently ignored human decency in their brutal pursuits.

This is my partial list of things I hate the Trump administration is doing

Feel free to post your own "Dems are just as bad" list Mr. Both Sides

Messengers don’t have conflicts of interest, unless you think he won’t deliver. Do you know Burisma was NOT being investigated? What is the conflict?

With your example, Joe would’ve convinced Obama to keep the corrupt investigator. Whatever influence you think Joe had didn’t benefit Hunter.
If I were Obama, as I have said, I would have sent the SOS or the SOD or some other envoy. It isn’t hard to avoid conflicts.

That was clearly not a yes or no question. If you are unable to recognize that, perhaps you shouldn't be engaging in these conversations.
Apologies. I misread the question.

I have stated numerous times with examples of how and where there was a conflict of interest. If you are unable to recognize where and how such a conflict arose, I cannot make it any more plain. Perhaps it is you who should not be engaging in these conversations.

Your obseesion with tit for tat is pretty impressive, I'll say that much. Lol.

I thought you said that you were done with this discussion but maybe that is only the case when you are faced with the PROVEN falsification of "evidence" done by the Maga Republicans trying to frame Biden? Yet here you go again spreading the same story over again

Well now is your chance to answer this - How come you won't answer the question -- Why do you dismiss the fact that they fabricated false evidence in an official hearing?

I must have missed it. Can you point me to the post again so I can read it and make sure I am understanding you?
