Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

By association does that mean NATO and the EU are now undeclared enemies? 😳🔥

President Donald Trump visited the Kennedy Center on Monday, where he presided over a meeting of its refashioned board of trustees and discussed changes to the institution’s annual Honors, including possibly hosting the ceremony himself.

“I’ve been so busy, I haven’t been able to be here for a long time,” Trump, who is the board’s chairman, said at the beginning of the meeting. “And I shouldn’t be, with what I’m doing.”

The Washington Post obtained audio of the meeting, in which the board voted to expand the committee that chooses Kennedy Center honorees.

Trump and board members floated names such as Paul Anka, Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Mathis and Andrea Bocelli for the award.

The president also suggested giving awards to Elvis Presley, Luciano Pavarotti and Babe Ruth, though the Kennedy Center Honors are not given posthumously. Pavarotti was honored in 2001. Trump floated expanding the event to include politicians, executives and athletes.

“Elvis sells better as a dead man,” Trump said.

During the board meeting, Trump railed against previous Kennedy Center Honors, saying, “In the past, I mean, these are radical left lunatics that have been chosen. I didn’t like it. I couldn’t watch it. And the host was always terrible.”………

Trump being a big baby as always...

President Donald Trump bashed a staff writer from The Atlantic for not being “capable or competent” because she doesn’t “know” that he “won the presidency three times,” reciting one of his frequent falsehoods.

Ashley Parker apparently requested an interview with the president — which Trump rebuffed in a very public way. He branded her a “Radical Left Lunatic” who was “not capable of doing a fair and unbiased interview” in a Truth Social post Tuesday. His reasoning appeared to be based on what he views as her lack of knowledge about the outcome of the 2020 election.

“To this date, she doesn’t even know that I won the Presidency THREE times. If you have some other reporter, let us know, but Ashley is not capable or competent enough to understand the intricacies of High Level politics,” the president said. Parker has won the Pulitzer Prize — three times.

Trump won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton and 2024 election against Kamala Harris. He lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, but has repeatedly, and falsely, claimed that he was victorious.

Trump also slammed The Atlantic as a “third rate magazine.” Picking at another old wound, Trump once again accused the magazine of falsifying the story about his 2018 trip to a French cemetery, where he allegedly described fallen U.S. soldiers as “suckers” and “losers.”.............

This level of pettiness is aspirational.

The Department of Justice argued Tuesday that President Donald Trump would be well within his authority to fire all agency chiefs who are women—or over the age of 40.

Eric McArthur, a deputy assistant attorney general, made the statement in response to a hypothetical scenario posed by Judge Karen Henderson of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals during Tuesday’s oral argument over the firing of two board members of independent agencies.

Earlier this month, two district judges ruled in two separate cases that Trump illegally fired Merit Systems Protection Board member Cathy Harris and National Labor Relations Board member Gwynne Wilcox. Former President Joe Biden nominated Harris to the MSPB in 2021 and Wilcox to a second five-year term at the NLRB in 2023.

The Trump administration has appealed those rulings.

“Mr. McArthur, could the president decide that he wasn’t going to appoint or allow to remain in office any female heads of agencies or any heads over 40 years old?” Henderson, one of three judges on the panel, asked the DOJ attorney during the proceedings.

“I think that that would be within the president’s constitutional authority under the removal power,” McArthur responded. “There would be separate questions about whether that would violate other provisions of the Constitution.”

The first medical classification not based on scientific medical study, but on right wing politics, grossly manipulative if anything. This is just a forking label to sate the dummies. I’ve suggested TAS , Trump Assimilated Syndrome, something that is real. I’m also toying with the notion of IAM- Insanity Avoidance Maneuver, to steer clear of #TAS. 😳

Repealing the Inflation Reduction Act—something President Trump is currently trying very hard to do—could result in a $160 billion hit to the gross domestic product, according to Semafor.

A complete IRA repeal would devastate the country’s economy. It could lead to 790,000 lost job losses by 2030, while household energy bills would increase by up to $370 per year, on average, by 2035.

This is ominous news for an economy already on the brink of recession. That recession is being driven by Trump’s ongoing trade war with America’s closest allies—25 percent levies are currently being placed on many imports from Mexico and Canada—which Fed Chair Jerome Powell just admitted was making inflation worse.

Cuts to the IRA would have a massive negative impact on American manufacturing, delivering a devastating blow to a sector that those tariffs are theoretically intended to boost. Slashing the IRA would also particularly harm red states, which have received a whopping 77 percent of clean energy manufacturing and deployment investment since the third quarter of 2022.

A full repeal of the IRA is not expected, of course, but Speaker Mike Johnson did describe his vision for the cuts as “somewhere between a scalpel and a sledgehammer.” Even if the bill is not repealed—or curtailed—by Congress, agency cuts made by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency have likely already affected its implementation............

I am by nature an optimistic guy.. Just look at my SR handle for chrissakes.. but i find it hard to believe there’s a gotdam thing that any of us who didnt vote for this lunatic can do at this point…. As far as im concerned, there are only two valid options: 1) Vote with ur feet and move out of America.. this is the option i chose when i saw the handwriting on the wall last year.. But I realize this isn’t a realistic option for everyone… or 2) Roll over and accept that the dummies are in charge .. the way our system is set up, there’s not really a way to stop this freight train.. which leads me back to the first option- i realized a while back that any country where roughly half the population votes for a guy like Trump TWICE is no country i want to live in.. Again, though, I realize leaving isn’t an option for everyone .

Donald Trump gathered school children in a mock classroom scene at the White House on Thursday afternoon to witness the signing of an executive order aimed at dismantling the Department of Education.

As the children watched from their small desks, each with their own replica executive orders to sign along with Trump, the president began his remarks with an update on the horrors of Ukraine’s war.…..
