I figured we needed a thread specifically about the media.

There was a very big correction recently by the Washington Post.

That story was supposedly "independently confirmed" by CNN, NBC News, USA Today, ABC News, & PBS News Hour. How could they all have gotten the quote wrong if they actually independently confirmed the story?

Why do all the errors always go in one political direction and not closer to 50/50?

Trump's rhetoric absolutely did incite J6. He's the one who tried to get Pence to overturn the election and Pence wouldn't do it. Then acted like a baby and told the crowd he was speaking to to march on the Capitol.

I don't think he had anything to do with the shooting that I'm aware of. You'd have to ask the shooter that.

I wouldn't listen to anyone saying it wasn't an assassination attempt. Everyone here agrees it was.
The dude obviously tried to make it so that Trump was no longer alive. People can argue over what word to use, but the dude obviously tried to change Trump's status from alive to dead. I haven't heard anyone say the guy wasn't trying to end Trump's life. That would be a completely unhinged from reality thing to say.

It's a screenshot of a post. If it's real, that's a despicable thing to say.

As for Keith, he's an idiot and not worth listening to.
He’s searching really really hard for just anything he can point to, isn’t he? I mean really. He doesn’t want us to start putting up all the violent rhetoric from MAGA. It would break the server.

Different news organizations have different standards about language. For example the NYT is famously stodgy and conservative with language. They probably have to have some proof of motive to use the word assassination. There isn’t any bias or conspiracy except in the people who are engagement farming, which SFL falls for almost every time.

Legacy media is now worried about this becoming “politicized,” after spending the last several years demonizing Trump and his supporters with incendiary political rhetoric and hyper-politicizing every issue from A to Z.

The Democrat operative then goes on to make the assassination of a former President about herself and the press: “I’m incredibly scared…I’m scared for journalists."

No mention of being scared for Trump and his family. Because they’re not.

So completely in the bag for Trump that you won’t acknowledge his own violent rhetoric. It’s really sad, and should be embarrassing.

Trump has spent 8 years demonizing democrats. With the gleeful accompaniment of his toadies. But you can just memory-hole all that to throw blame at Democrats for a crime committed by a Republican against the Republican candidate for president.

Nobody is buying your shirt in here.

No they had that up online for several days now. You realize that actual papers - which is what he is referring to here - have to be printed, and often Sunday opinion sections are printed days in advance?

I can criticize the NYT when warranted and I have, but Musk is an idiot who is just shirt stirring here.

Here’s your lack of empathy right here: this is Trump, distilled to his essence. This is who you support.

    “Trump's round today
COURSE PICS/VLOGS I'm a cart boy at Trump Bedminster, where Trump played today (just about 16 hours after getting
nearly assassinated). He was in high spirits, which was great. Took time to chat with a lot of the staff. Allowed us to follow him
for a bit. There was a decently big group with him. Anyway, I was able to watch him putt on the 9th green. He had about a 20 footer, with probably 2
feet of break. Sure enough, he drains it and goes "Difference
between me and the shooter is that I don't miss!"”
