Looks like the fight is on with Israeli soldiers and civilians amongst the dead already. Question becomes, how long before we get dragged into this?

The Geneva Convention prohibits collective punishment

Also I read of the 2.3 million people living there, half are children.

So what's Israel supposed to do? Allow Hamas to stage deadly attacks willy-nilly from Gaza with full stomachs? It isn't collective punishment; Hamas made Gaza a war zone, and Israel is treating it like such.

As for de-escalating violence, that's a good one. Seems it always falls on the ones who get punched in the face to de-escalate violence.

Do you know what's also inhumane? Parading the dead bodies of civilians like hunting trophies, targeting and killing women and children.

What are Palestinians supposed to do?

That, I don't know. But it is stupid to ask Israel to facilitate a staging area for attacks into Israel.

You could ask any of the Islamic States to take in the people from Gaza... but they don't want to do that.

I guess Bibi just needs a final solution to the Palestinian problem.

That seems to be where it's headed and what many people (in their rage and fear) seem to be advocating for.

I don't have a solution for the situation either, all I know is that this going to be horrible as seemingly any reasoning that may constrain Israel's response has been removed.

I don't know, but we both know if they go in there and kill lots of civilians (like they have in the past) it will just create more members for their cause. I think the whole situation is (has been for a long time) awful. The cycle of this will continue until something changes. Obviously I am against acts of terrorism and killing of innocents. But how many times have we seen this play out again and again over the decades?

Reasoning removed? If any reasoning has been removed it's been removed by Hamas. Clearly, they don't give two shirts about the civilians they're supposed to represent. Israel will take out Hamas and because the area is so densely populated civilians will die. Hamas gave Israel no choice.

What they can't do is send killers into Israel and murder 100s of civilians. That will, and is, going to make matters worse.

    Yes.

Israel shouldn't be given a blank slate to bomb Gaza either.

What Israel has done since the attack is already 10x worse than what happened to them.

Israel hasn't been given a blank slate, they've taken a blank slate and Hamas knew damn well that's what would happen.

Hamas's problem is the possible Saudi-Israel agreement. They're willing to kill their own civilians to stop Israel and Saudi from reaching an agreement.

    yea, Hamas is terrible.

    Israel is also terrible.

The only people worth defending in this conflict are the millions of people living in Gaza.

By "reasoning removed" I mostly mean the ignoring international law in regards to warfare and treatment of civilians or removing any expectations of any restraint on Israel's reaction to the terrorist attack. Unfortunately international laws in regard to warfare are useless given that they're basically ignored by every country for "input reason here" whenever there is any type of conflict. Your response kind of exemplifies the latter definition.

Hamas clearly doesn't care about Palestinian civilians, this is nothing new. They deserve to be taken out.

Let's give Israel Texas, leaving Israel to its rightful Palestinian owners, and ending our southern border immigration problem.
That would be wild, but instead of giving Isreal Texas, why not give them New York, or Los Angeles?

No, Israeli civilians are also worth defending.

I think they have collapsed one building for every Israeli citizen that was killed.

We overreacted to 911. Our reaction caused more harm than the terrorists.

Israel shouldn't make the same mistake we did.

It's not my response, it's a fact of life. This is as tragic a situation as you'll find and it's going to continue to become even more tragic.

Maybe because NY or LA aren’t trying to move toward an authoritarian state?

TX has a corrupt AG, a Governor who treats people as political pawns, they are banning books, denying women bodily autonomy, want to monitor women’s travels to other states, limit the medical care parents and teens are allowed to have. All according to their own religious beliefs.

Any religious radical would feel right at home.

I know it’s a joke but you cannot compare the freedom you have in NY or CA to TX.
