Looks like the fight is on with Israeli soldiers and civilians amongst the dead already. Question becomes, how long before we get dragged into this?

What is ironic (not really) is how Israel can use precision, pinpoint attacks to target specific scientists and govt officials in Iran... but when it comes to Palestinians, they indiscriminately launch attacks which seem to overwhelmingly kill a bunch of civilians.

Yesterday I saw an image of a headless fetus, killed by shrapnel from another Israeli attack. It isn’t difficult to find online. No western media coverage. No outrage.

And this only accelerates. More day seemingly every hour. There is no “keeping up with it”.

The thought that so much of the world is watching this unfathomable slaughter of the young, the weak, the disabled - fueled and propagandized by our own nation and live-streamed for the world to see as we watch Netflix is easily one of if not the most depressing, hopeless places I’ve been in life.

And I am losing absolutely nothing - mind numbingly nothing —compared to my fellow humans there. My privileged arse has no room to say a damn word about pain over this.

Are you suggesting that we shouldn't complain about what's happening here, because of what's happening over there?

Every person's pain and suffering are legitimate and one person's pain and suffering never cancels out another's. It's not a contest.

Things are connected. Bibi is getting a free hand due to Trump. Don't forget that Trump and Bibi was in contact almost weekly during the last year of Bidens precidency. Trump used the lack of progress against Biden/Harris to win the election while dreaming about a Gazan Riviera.

Bibi knew he just had to wait and now the US administration are attacking those who REPORTs the attrocities instead of those who COMMIT them.

In the NY TIMES, today: “My inescapable conclusion has become that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people.”(Dr. Bartov is a former IDF Officer, current professor of Holocaust and genocide studies at Brown University)

My inescapable conclusion has become that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people. Having grown up in a Zionist home, lived the first half of my life in Israel, served in the I.D.F. as a soldier and officer and spent most of my career researching and writing on war crimes and the Holocaust, this was a painful conclusion to reach, and one that I resisted as long as I could. But I have been teaching classes on genocide for a quarter of a century. I can recognize one when I see one.
This is not just my conclusion. A growing number of experts in genocide studies and international law have concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza can only be defined as genocide. So has Francesca Albanese, the U.N. special rapporteur for the West Bank and Gaza, and Amnesty International. South Africa has brought a genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

Sounds like another landgrab using excuses about protecting the Druze

But Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said Wednesday that the campaign was essential both to “prevent harm to the Druze community” and protect the southern border.
Katz said that the IDF “will continue operating with force in Suwayda to destroy the forces that attacked the Druze, until their complete withdrawal.”

not sure why, but Israel bombed Damascus this am.

I've thought from the beginning of Israel's assault on Gaza, that the current Israeli leadership has a plan of vast expansion. This started with Gaza, but I never thought it was just about Gaza or the other non-Israeli territories they already occupy. They are planning to extend their borders into Syria, Jordan and probably Lebanon. The attacks and slaughter by Hamas terrorists gave them the excuse they needed to launch their plans. Now they are using the excuse of protecting the Druze as a prelude to invading and occupying parts of Syria.

The main reason the current Israeli leadership likes the Druze, is because as a whole the Druze appease the current Israeli leadership. They'll turn on the Druze as soon as they are no longer of benefit to the current Israeli leadership. That's why appeasement is always a self-destructive choice.
