Lost in all the news coverage about what's going on in the US right now is this bit of information.

The Ukrainian government has completed an audit of thousands of case files related to Burisma. Ruslan Ryaboshapka (the prosecutor general), described by Zelenskiy as "100 percent my person" in the July phone call with president Trump said "I specifically asked prosecutors to check especially carefully those facts about Biden's alleged involvement. They answered that there was nothing of the kind."

Not that anyone SHOULD be surprised to find out that Hunter Biden was not implicated in something that was done by the CEO of Burisma in his role as a government employee, that happened two years before Biden joined the board.

    ==============

Over four years ago, I chose life over the slow strangle-death grip of addiction, which in my case consisted each day of a bottle of vodka and as many hits on a crack pipe as possible. I am prouder of that choice and of my recovery than anything I’ve ever done.

My experience is not a unique one. At least 20 million Americans today suffer from substance abuse disorder. I don’t know a family that hasn’t been impacted in some way by addiction. What is distinct about my situation is that I’m the son of the president of the United States.

My struggles and my mistakes have been fodder for a vile and sustained disinformation campaign against him, and an all-out annihilation of my reputation through high-pitched but fruitless congressional investigations and, more recently, criminal charges for possessing an unloaded gun for 11 days five years ago – charges that appear to be the first-ever of their kind brought in the history of Delaware.

I am not a victim. By any standard, I grew up with privilege and opportunity, and fully accept that the choices and mistakes I made are mine, and I am accountable for them and will continue to be.

That is what recovery is about.

What troubles me is the demonization of addiction, of human frailty, using me as its avatar and the devastating consequences it has for the millions struggling with addiction, desperate for a way out and being bombarded by the denigrating and near-constant coverage of me and my addiction on Fox News (more airtime than GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis) and in The New York Post (an average of two stories a dayover the past year)………

Someone once told me, “Getting clean is easy, all you have to do is change everything.” That is one of the most profound truths I know today.

The weaponization of my addiction by partisan and craven factions represents a real threat to those desperate to get sober but are afraid of what may await them if they do.

It is not hard to see why: My recent haircut turned into a wild conspiracy to evade drug tests, tabloids steadily splash nude pictures of me on their covers, and even a member of Congress displayed revenge porn of me on national television.

My addiction doesn’t justify Steve Bannon and Guo Wengui posting altered nude photos of me with “editorial creativity over the pictures.” My addiction shouldn’t permit the likes of Rudy Giuliani or a former Peter Navarro aide to debase and dehumanize me for their own gains. .............

CNN) — Hunter Biden’s lawyers have told the House Oversight Committee that the president’s son is willing to testify on December 13 in their inquiry into his actions — but only if he can do so publicly, according to a letter Hunter Biden’s legal team sent to the committee that CNN obtained.

The Republican-run committee previously subpoenaed Hunter Biden for testimony.

“We have seen you use closed-door sessions to manipulate, even distort the facts and misinform the public. We therefore propose opening the door. If, as you claim, your efforts are important and involve issues that Americans should know about, then let the light shine on these proceedings,” Hunter Biden’s lawyers wrote in the letter…….

Why can't these folks ever contact me, instead?
Whatever that team charges, I'll only charge half.
Because it's incredibly easy to ask "Where's the original, untouched hard drive? Can we say with certainty that it's never been connected to a write-enabled port? If we can't then 'Hunter Biden's Laptop' doesn't exist. We may as well be talking about King Solomon's iPhone."

Why would you need to ask that? The computer store owner has already stated publicly that there is information on those drives (according to the reports by GOP/Giuliani/etc) that was not on those drives when he had them.

It's already answered then. So that's all any Dem needs to say.

"Whatever *may* have been on that drive, the chain of custody has been hopelessly broken. Next question."

Supposedly the FBI has the actual hardware. The rest of the stuff that the public has is just a collection of files, some authentic, some not. It was given to Rudy by Russian agents, apparently. It has been altered by unknown parties. I personally think some of it was illegally obtained possibly through a hack. I really, really hope Hunter’s lawsuit against Rudy gets to discovery.

Whatever hardware the FBI has is useless unless the chain of custody can be definitively established. If that drive could ever have been connected to a write enabled port, it may as well be your hard drive, or George Santos's.

The FBI supposedly picked it up from the repair shop owner. Who knows? That guy is shady as far as I am concerned, and he may have received it from Rudy and his story is a lie. 🤷‍♀️

Interesting. I wonder if it stops him from testifying before Congress.
He would be crazy to say anything other than “I take the 5th”. This is pretty vindictive charging. The list of people who have done the exact same and were never charged if they paid up is very, very long.

Here is my best guess as to what happened with the “laptop”. This is just my own opinion, but I do think this is fairly likely.

The shopkeeper may have received a laptop and external drive from Hunter, or it may have been left by someone else. He illegally kept a copy of the contents of the drive. He also illegally accessed the contents of the drive, and then contacted the FBI. The FBI takes the actual hardware. The shop owner now gives his illegal copy to Rudy and Bannon, who take it and hold on to it for months and months, adding material as they see fit. Roger Stone and others also access these files and add material. Some of this material may have been the result of hacks against Hunter. Once it is sufficiently close to the election, where they think it will damage Joe Biden, Rudy gives this bastageized copy of files to the NY Post, who breathlessly runs it without even investigating its origin at all. Everyone refuses to let any neutral parties check out these files. The FBI knows the contents don’t match what they have and suspect the origin of some of the information is Russian, so they warn legitimate news outfits about it. After the election is over the shop owner admits there is a lot of material in the NY Post files that wasn’t on his copy. And when WaPo gets the files they confirm that there is a lot of material that was added after the FBI took the hardware. Then CBS gets a copy from the shop owner’s lawyer (who is being sued by Hunter) which doesn’t contain the Rudy/Bannon disinformation and lo and behold - it doesn’t implicate Joe Biden.

So basically what we have is a mess and a lot of people - Rudy, Bannon, Stone, and the shop owner (who has made conflicting statements) - are lying about it. NY Post is in on it, with their usual lack of journalistic integrity. I’m not sure who all Hunter is suing, but I really really hope it gets to discovery. I think Rudy and Bannon and Stone all are as dirty as they can be and need to go to prison for a long, long time, for this attempt to influence a presidential election with foreign disinformation, and other things.

C’mon, you are only going to confuse those who see only…certain things.
