The GOP in both the House and Senate have released their budget resolutions. Both aim to produce $1.5T to $2T in tax cuts- while slashing spending.

The Senate budget committee is hearing their resolution today and resolving over 200 proposed amendments.

The House has released their budge resolution:

    - $4 Trillion debt-ceiling increase
    - Defund Medicaid entirely (effectively)
    - Reduce SNAP by 20%

It's slightly amusing that they gathered to pray on the House floor after cutting Medicaid and snap. 😂
    Yeah, amusing and disgusting.

I think I threw up a little bit in my mouth.

So the CR would cut 1B from DC’s local budget in the middle of the fiscal year. That cut would make the federal firings look timid. DC would have to RIF people immediately. Police, fire, teachers all get benefit cuts of 140M total. Metro would see 216M in cuts alone. That’s about 350M or 1/3 of the needed cuts.

What’s crazy….DC operates with a balanced budget because it’s required by the Home Rule Act. DC has a AAA bond rating. This CR puts DC in a spot to either tear down government services or run a non-balanced budget opening the door to ending Home Rule.

    Serious concern about future employment….

This EVIL man goes in front of the American people and lie to them everyday! They won't accept responsibility for their failed policies and then they expect D's to vote on a CR which they had ZERO input in composing.

He so wants to the country to blame Democrats, lol. He knows his CR is dead.

Democrats response is simple, "you didn't include us in crafting your bill, we're not going to fork with it." No more needs to be said.

So the plan is apparently to pass the CR and skip town so that the Senate can either pass same or shut the government down. Yeah right.

House members are set to skip town after Tuesday evening's planned vote on a shutdown-averting funding patch, according to a notice sent by House Majority Whip Tom Emmer's office. As POLITICO reported Friday, House GOP leaders want to "jam" the Senate — i.e., leave them no other option to avoid a shutdown at midnight Friday except to pass the House funding bill.

Both chambers are set to be out of Washington next week for the first full-week, bicameral recess this year. First, House Democrats will hold their annual issues conference in Leesburg, Va., starting Wednesday.
