I just wanna make it clear, they were never hardcore Republicans. And by that I mean regular Rush Limbaugh listeners. That’s my cutoff for hardcore Republicans.
The only time politics would come up with my grandparents would be when I asked about their signed HW Bush book.

We still have a few hardcore gop in my family, but they’ve moved outside of NOLA and into rural Louisiana or Mississippi and we barely see ‘em.

They're not just in the Republican party, they influence it. The head Groyper gets face time with Trump. The reason the Groypers are declaring war on the "establishment" guys around Trump is because there is a power struggle going on around an ever diminishing Trump. They are all fighting to be the one that gets to whisper in Trump's ear. It only looked like there was cohesion at the Republican National Convention, because they were all feeling good. The very second they felt stressed, they all turned each other. It's going to get worse.

A few Republicans endorsed Biden in 2020. Trump lost by a slim margin.
A whole bunch of Republicans are endorsing Harris in 2024. That's a really bad sign for Trump.

Except for the ‘16 election. Trump has lost everything else.
