Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

I don't think the states and precincts can withhold count numbers, because it's a matter of public record. There are poll watchers from both parties and other groups, so I don't think the precincts can withhold the numbers they are reporting.
I did look it up before I posted, and it doesn’t seem like it is a legal requirement to report anything before they certify the results. Definitely nothing in state or federal law that requires live reporting.

I doubt “live” reporting was possible when those laws were written.

The state doesn't have to actively report returns from precincts as they get them, but each precinct has to allow poll watchers see their counting and their results which means the precinct returns are public information, even if the state doesn't officially report it.

Very very likely to be the next President if that's the case. Trump's insult comic at MSG may very well have changed everything.. let's see how it goes.
    In this topic
The last 4 big hits were
    Musk
    Cheney
    MSG
    PR
So my unscientific assumption is that those things were fresh in people's minds at the end

Virginia seems a bit worrisome at the moment? (Invitation for someone to tell me I'm wrong)

VA to Harris. People online still saying she has PA, and NC is looking very good. She already has the one EV out of NE, so if she carries PA and NC, I don’t think Trump has a realistic path.

I’m reading it got called. Early results out of Loudoun Co were a data glitch and not accurate. They have been corrected. I’m just reading Twitter because I found the shows to be all too nerve-wrecking.

Pretty sure CNN has homed in on me and is screwing with my emotions lol.

Virginia broke late for Biden in the 2020 election. Trump was up in early reporting, but eventually Virginia went Blue. I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen again. It's just a matter of precients reporting late that leaned heavily towards Biden.

Right. Like I said the media would still find out, it just wouldn’t be “official”.

My main point is that it’s foolish to expect something other than profit motive from the media. The people making the hiring and firing decisions are acting on behalf of a profit driven entity.

So this is OH with 34ish % of the vote in. This could be a big surprise, I don’t know how the counted votes break out, however, so could be a mirage.

I wouldn't read too much into it. These numbers look a lot like they were in 2020. Moreso than 2016. I think Harris should be ok. We'll see.
2020 was freaking close close man lol.. not much solace yet unti there's more clarity.

They want to keep you on the edge of your seat, and glued to the show - so yeah they are definitely screwing with you. I turned them all off. Better for my blood pressure, lol.

I see. My point was not that I expected anything different, just that it's a foolish and useless thing to do. It's bad journalism, regardless of motivation.
