Today it begins, Kamala has reached the point that she's the Democratic Party nominee:

There's video from today. this link has video from her first public appearance since Biden endorsed her:

She spent yesterday on the telephone for most of the day. I read that yesterday that she called the party leaders in all 50 states. That would take me three days.

She's renamed her YouTube channel, that's the where to go for video: https://www.youtube.com/@kamalaharris

This is her video on her channel from two hours ago:

To play it, start it, and then move it up to 5:47. This was one of those live videos which don't start at zero.

I've named this thread General Election 2024 Harris vs Trump

Trump needs an introduction post as well, a MAGA suporter ought to write it: @Farb, @SaintForLife , @Others, calling for someone to please introduce your GOP candidate for this 2024 general election thread.

It looks to me like the Criminal has that account in good working order:

Everyone knows he stiffs lawyers. He has 1.4 million he can use for those few instances when he can't promise to pay money, and then stiff them.

Courts demand fees, and fines have to be paid, but the lawyers he can stiff. 1.4 million ought to be enough to maintain that kind of cash flow.

On the one hand believing that the election was stolen from Trump yet again and by a black woman to boot could drive Trump's supporters insane and in much greater numbers than 2020

On the other hand, authorities should be much better prepared to handle any threats and violence
    ================================================================

Nineteen percent of Republicans believe former President Donald Trump should do “whatever it takes” to return to power, even if that means calling the results invalid if he loses, a new national poll shows.

The group of Republicans willing to depart from democratic norms and possibly even use violence to get their way is getting bigger as Trump continues to falsely claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him and that November’s showdown has already been rigged.

The poll, conducted by the nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute and the Brookings Institution, reveals how Trump has molded the Republican Party in his image as he motivates its most extreme members.

Democrats argue that Trump is a threat to democracy, and some in the party – 12 percent in the poll – say Vice President Kamala Harris should also reject the results if she loses.

The poll also shows that 29 percent of Republicans “believe that true American patriots may have to resort to violence to save the country.” Sixteen percent of independents and eight percent of Democrats say the same.

The president and founder of the research institute, Robert Jones, told Axios, “I’ve been doing this for 20 years, and these answers ... are keeping me up at night.”

He added those saying that the loser of the election should do whatever it takes to assume power are essentially backing a coup, calling it “pretty dark and worrisome.”

Forty-one percent of Americans who trust conservative news outlets back the idea of using political violence to acheive political goals – and 30 percent of loyal Fox News viewers support the idea, according to the survey.

Among those who don’t watch TV news, 18 percent said they would support political violence, and the same was true for 13 percent of those who said they don’t trust mainstream media..............

Good to know it's not just politician campaign fluff and Trump actually believes this stuff
    =========================================================

JD Vance attempted to defend Donald Trump‘s “unfiltered” comments about using the National Guard and military to quash “the enemy within,” claiming they came from “the heart.”

“He’s not just running on slogans,” Vance told Fox News during a Monday appearance on America’s Newsroom. “When people ask him questions, he speaks from the heart sometimes that means he is going to talk about issues that the mainstream media isn’t focused on.”...........

Donald Trump bizarrely impersonated a duck during his town hall in Pennsylvania on Sunday, not long after boasting that he had “aced” two cognitive tests.

Just hours after briefly manning the fryer at a McDonald’s in the battleground state, the former president held a town hall in Lancaster focusing on climate, the economy and immigration.

During the event, Trump touted his own mental acuity and insisted that, at 78, he is “not close” to 80 years old.

About 30 minutes after his latest effort to brush off questions about his mental acuity, Trump decided to give his best impression of a duck to hammer home a prospective policy in the Keystone State: increasing “frack, frack” fracking by as much as four-fold.

“Fracking. How soon, how quickly, how much in Pennsylvania?” moderator Sage Steele asked.

Trump replied: “You know what you’re doing is fracking but you can do much more. You can do double and triple what you’re doing right now. You’re restricted by so many different things that they put on.”

“So we’re going to frack, frack, frack, like a duck,” he added, leaning over and pursing his lips to apparently mimic a duck, leaving a smirk on the moderator’s face.……

People are going to say he's quacking up, and sure, he is, I'm down with that. But this kind of winging it is probably going to get an excessive amount of attention and help him duck some of the tougher stuff. It's fowl play.

Guido couldn’t have done any better

If anyone wants to feel a bit better about polling analysis, give this guy a follow:

He's done this for the last few cycles and his results were more accurate than 538's aggregate.

This go around he has a national lead of Harris with a 3.6% national lead, and a +2% lead in the blue wall states. Harris with an 80% chance to win.

He basically just throws out all the junk polls (wheras 538 throws everything in)... he keeps partisan polls with good methodology and consistent lean in, and just weights them with that knowledge.

Basic analysis is, Harris wins unless all the undecideds break for Trump.
