    You very well know the context of the discussion at the time the question was raised. and you very well know why they all raised their hands as fast as they could.

    And even if I accepted your gaslight, it is still stupid to raise you hand and not explain why you are raising it.

    I agree. Even giving 2020 a pass because, well, 2020, all these different rules is downright ratchet. It may have been sufficient for the Founders, but come on.

    This part is true. I didn't watch that debate, but the visual/clickbait part of it was bad. If they had time they should have gone into detail about how illegal immigrants are getting free health care now through the emergency rooms, and they would propose a system that is cheaper and humane.
     
    Wow, took an unplug and GA really tightened up. I still think Trump takes it, but narrowly. Like recount narrow. NC to Trump, AZ and NV to Biden. I’m really starting to believe Biden can take PA too.

    I think they would actually have to pass a constitutional amendment to change that. It's written in the constitution that state legislatures get to set rules for elections in each state. Republicans will never allow that to happen.

    Yeah, but ain't nobody got time fo dat. Or so it seems. Most people aren't policy wonks and would rather be fed soundbites, so the media does what works for their business model.

    To be fair, neither would Democrats. I think both parties like being able to tweak the system to suit their needs.

    That said, the way I'd do it is let the state parties handle the primaries, and for national and congressional elections, the states would still run them, but the times, voting standards, verification and counting has to be governed by a federal election code. It's a big issue to tackle, but I think it's worth taking a look at.
