Question for those smarter than myself , ie most people here: If Democrats win Senate and House, does it cushion the blow, in any significant way, if Trump wins the WH again? Why or why not?
It would be huge because it would stop Trump from doing anything, including appointing judges. That said, it does not look like the Democrats will take the Senate absent winning the White House.

If we're being honest, it's a huge exaggeration. If we're playing fast and loose with reality, it's based on a smidge of truth. Just being honest, man.

Not so long ago the left sacrificed one of their brightest to the #metoo gods for pretending to grab the boobs of a woman who was pinching butts backstage of a tour.

I don't pretend to be smart, and I am not sure I am going to be making coherent remarks at this point. But yes, winning the senate is just as, important. If trump wins, but (D) controls the senate, goodbye turtle mitch. He is just as bad, if not worse. I actually wouldn't care if T-boy won if the (D) controlled the house and senate, because that would neuter him and whatever bone-headed policies (and judges) ol' mitch would try to pass through

I think one fatal flaw the Democrats made related to race is the same that Trump made related to healthcare - that is talking about defunding police without having a plan in place to replace it. I told my husband back in the fall that was giving Trump his opening to play the fear game again and sure enough he did. You have to separate the rioting from the peaceful protests and the Democrats didn’t do that. Once people feel their safety is threatened they will vote for people who are talking about their safety even at the expense of not dealing with injustice of other people.

I don’t think Dems are getting to 51. If they do, then Trump will veto any meaningful legislation. Dems should block 100% of judicial nominees for 4 years.

Anyone know about the Montana senate seat? That's a closer race.

And the Republicans would have just beat the "they want to let in rapist immigrants" drum to rile up rural white America just as much.

At some point, we have to stop blaming and demanding different behavior from the targets of racism and start blaming and demanding different behavior from those who let them be manipulated by racists. The ire is completely misplaced.

Thats a fair sentiment, but ultimately, there has to be a convincing of enough people to have their own cone to Jesus moment about their own racism. Otherwise you will never have enough broad based support for the cause. The point is there needs to be some sort of way to bring people into the fold rather than ostracized and alienating them. How do we get more people to have those meeting of the minds where we can move ahead as a society? I don't know the answer to that though.

Not sure what else Joe could have done though. He condemned violence and rioting and said he was against defunding the police.

Yeah, there is a double-standard in play. He really should be given another chance, but they were quick to get rid of him, or "encourage" him to resign. Meanwhile you have trump being accused of sexual assault by 17 women, and one accusing him of rape, but millions still vote for him. One side is being upheld by higher standards, the other is basically "as long as you screw the dems everything else is okay"

Which is not even close to being in the same galaxy as "of getting rid of a president for not guaranteeing abortion rights for transsexuals."

The Social Dilemma is a great documentary for anyone who hasn't watched it. Be warned though, you will probably delete your social media after watching it.
I got rid of mine back in June. Didn't regret it at all after watching Social Dilemma.
