    https://www.foxnews.com/us/135-teachers-charged-child-sex-crimes-this-year-alone

"At least 135 teachers and teachers’ aides have been arrested so far this year on child sex-related crimes in the U.S., ranging from child pornography to raping students.

An analysis conducted by Fox News Digital looked at local news stories week by week featuring arrests of teachers and teachers’ aides on child sex-related crimes in school districts across the country. Arrests that weren't publicized were not counted in the analysis, meaning the true number may well be higher.

The analysis found that at least 135 teachers and teachers’ aides have been arrested in 41 states between January 1 and May 13, which works out to about an arrest a day on average."

I said on this board a while ago that eventually that public education will over take the catholic church sex abuse scandal. While I not sure what will be bigger but the toll taken on kids demand we look into this. 135 educators in less than half a year. Terrible. I didn't know where to put this, so I created this thread.

Really, I disagreed with his premise on the actual problem. I don't think the right 'hates' trans people at all. I could careless about the LGTBQ as a whole people are people. I think it is silly that people feel the need to take 'pride' in who they prefer to have sex with (yes, I know about history). I think the problem is that we are forced, in society to accept it, not just tolerate it. Why? Why do I have accept and affirm something that I find gross and unnatural? The answer is because it effects someone, who I don't know and have no interaction with, their feelings. That is it. And if a group tells me to do something, then I personally, as a automatic response, begin to move the other way until I can figure out the reason.
A real life example is the baseball players recently who decided to not wear a pride patch on their uniform.

PRIDE month isn't about "who we prefer to have sex with". It's about who we are. It's about accepting ourselves for who we are, being visible and not letting bigots who think we're gross and unnatural force us into hiding, discriminate against us and harm us.

You don't have to personally affirm and accept us, I can guarantee you that no LGBTQ+ person cares what you personally think. It's not about you! But why is it so surprising to you that LGBTQ+ people would advocate for, fight for and want to be accepted by society in general? We just want our lives to be easier without the constant harassment, attacks and discrimination and that only comes with acceptance on some level. The only reason things have gotten better for LGBTQ+ people in the last 40 years is because we've advocated for acceptance and many people have accepted us.

Yep. I agree with everything you said there.
I just think the LGTBQ group needs to have some type of bouncer at the door, otherwise, any weirdo that has a kink is now considered part of the group. The group is represented by the members of that group so you can't really label someone a bigot for pointing out that some ideas, kinks, values that are under the LGTBQ umbrella. Maybe similar to the Qanon thing that the left thinks all conservatives believe in?

Edited to add: Do you think it is a bad thing that 5 players didn't want to wear a LGBTQ patch? I heard one commentator explain that it was a symbol of inclusion and acceptance and to not wear it was to take services and rights away from gay people and was bigoted. That seems a bit much from my perspective.

Why do you think weirdos with a kink will get lumped in the LGTBQ umbrella?
Of course it's a bad thing that some pro-ball players are so bigoted they refused the company policy to wear that patch.

Personally, I don't really care because I don't really watch baseball, don't know who the players are and it's a patch. Is it bad? That's more of a value judgement and I guess that depends on your perspective. I think it's more sad than anything else if I had to opine. But no, I don't think it takes away services or rights from gay people, it's a patch. Was it bigoted? Again, that's a value judgement that's dependent on your perspective. To those that agree with them, I'm sure they see it as just those players expressing their personal religious beliefs. For me who's gay, I know that the underlying religious belief is that they believe that homosexuality is unnatural and immoral, so it's at least a little bigoted even if that isn't their primary intent. And I don't think they should be forced to wear it either (which I'm assuming they weren't, I heard about it but didn't read any details).

Fair reply. I agree. It is just a patch and silly either way really.
Good point on the the underlying beliefs in religious beliefs. I never thought of it that way before. I am religious and understand the players not wanting to wear it and agree with them, but solid point.

On the flip side, isn't MLB or the Rays (I think that was the team) inviting the divide by requesting players to wear a patch that has nothing to do with baseball? I guess sponsorship might be a reasonable enough excuse though.
