    Everything I've seen and heard says that the split second Donald Trump is no longer president there will be flood of charges waiting for him

    And if he resigns and Pence pardons him there are a ton of state charges as an understudy waiting in the wings if the fed charges can't perform

    What do you think the likelihood of there being a jail sentence?

    In every movie and TV show I've ever seen, in every political thriller I've ever read about a criminal and corrupt president there is ALWAYS some version of;

    "We can't do that to the country",

    "A trial would tear the country apart",

    "For the nation to heal we need to move on" etc.

    Would life imitate art?

    Even with the charges, even with the proof the charges are true will the powers that be decide, "we can't do that to the country"?

    That's just what he'd say. Now, of course, he's wrong, but you try and tell him that. He thinks you're wrong. And you aren't going to get anywhere by calling me a wimp for not calling him an idiot. That makes you an idiot.

    So what you are saying is sometimes people are just idiots?

    To Optimus:

    For one thing, the vast majority of R voters have a very easy time voting. Their polling places are convenient to where they live and their wait times are measured in minutes.

    Poor people (who often vote Democrat) have fewer voting places, they often have limited options to travel to their polling places and their wait times are measured in hours. Often multiple hours.

    So, if telling the truth makes me an idiot then fine. I'm not going to have a conversation with your friend. I've written him off and his sort. It's not my job to patiently engage and change his mind. I've done all of that I'm willing to do. He can either learn on his own, from you or die in a fire. I don't care. He'll be judged by his God, civility and patience with these morons is no longer something I'm willing to do.

    I didn't say that. I said calling ME a wimp for not calling him an idiot is idiotic on your part. How I address him is my business and how, and if, you address him and others like him, in the final analysis, is your business.

    Really?

    So, you being completely unwilling to call out lies and evil intentions makes me an idiot.

    You see, that's the problem. We are too freaking soft and too worried about what our "friends" might think to actually tell them the truth.

    Perhaps you could suggest a less hurtful word for me to use than wimp.

    Maybe "those unwilling to be uncomfortable around their anti-american, racist, xenophobic, un-Christian, Trump cultist friends"

    Oh, come on now. I've talked about how dangerous Trump and the right are for 5 years. You're referring to a post I made in agreement with another poster essentially saying that not all of them are evil people and pointed to one I know who isn't. That's all. I've never said their views aren't dangerous.

    So go tend to your business then.

    Man, this guy is trying his best to keep what he was doing a secret

    Don't know if this was illegal but it's definitely shady
    ==========================================

    Then-President Donald Trump used a Secret Service agent's phone in an attempt to reach his wife, then-first lady Melania Trump, after the story on his affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels broke in 2018, CNN reported on Sunday.

    Trump was not keen on anyone listening to his calls — a difficult proposition in the highly-secure White House — so he would often utilize the phone of a close aide or Secret Service agent if he needed to make calls, CNN reported.

    After the Daniels news hit the media, Trump was on a golf course and called his wife from his phone, but she did not pick up, according to a source who spoke with the network.

    The then-president reportedly used a Secret Service agent's phone in a renewed attempt to contact his wife.

    Melania Trump answered the call that came from the agent's phone, per the report.

    However, the Secret Service agent whose phone was used by Trump was not thrilled with the manner in which his device was used, according to CNN.

    The Wall Street Journal in January 2018 first reported that Trump had arranged a $130,000 hush-money payment to stop Daniels — an adult-film actress whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford — from disclosing her accusations of an affair with Trump before the 2016 presidential election...........

    Which is how you lose.

    It’s a catch 22.

    Stooping to their level only makes it easier for them to justify stooping lower.

    Eventually people will get sick of stooping and there needs to be someone left above it for them to join.

    We need less fight and more patience.

    Grifting is the family business
    ======================

    A charity event hosted by Melania Trump is being investigated after organizers said a portion of ticket proceeds would go to a charity that doesn't appear to exist, The New York Times reported.

    Trump is due to appear at a "high tea" event in April in Naples, Florida, which organizers say will "benefit Fostering the Future, a Be Best initiative," which gives computer science scholarships to those aging out of the foster care system.

    Regular tickets cost $3,000 and limited VIP tickets cost $50,000 each. It's unclear what percentage of the proceeds will go to charity.

    According to The New York Times, no charity with the name "Fostering the Future" or "Be Best" is registered in Florida.

    Florida charity laws require any organizations soliciting donations in the state to be registered.

    The Florida agency that oversees charitable fund-raising confirmed to The Times that they could not find evidence that the charity was registered in the state and had opened an inquiry into the event.............
