Figured we should start a separate thread on the arrests and those involved in the storming of the Capitol. I know it has been talked about in the other thread a lot, but for the ones who just want to follow the ones arrested and/or charged, this will be an easier way to see updates on the investigations.

Link below is everyone who has been arrested. But we know there will be more.

The website seems to be updated with new information daily.

The ones who are getting the most air time:

BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts ex-town official seen on surveillance video marching through the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, was sentenced to 15 days in prison for her role in the riot carried out by supporters of former Republican President Donald Trump to stop the transfer of presidential power to Democrat Joe Biden.

Suzanne Ianni, 60, who organized a bus trip to Washington, D.C., for fellow members of the right-wing group Super Happy Fun America, was also sentenced Friday to 30 days of probation. She pleaded guilty in September to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.

Federal prosecutors had asked for a 30-day sentence and a year and a half of probation. Her defense sought a year of probation with no prison time, according to court records.

“Suzanne Ianni is devoted to her family, her community, and her country,” the defense wrote in a sentencing memorandum. “She was raised to have an abiding respect for law enforcement, and has had no prior contacts with the criminal court system."

“Suzanne Ianni is a strong-willed person," her attorney, C. Henry Fasoldt said in an email Monday. “She will serve her short sentence, then move on with her life."...........

A perfect example of how the political dynamic in this country has shifted. Natick, the town where Suzanne Ianni was a town meeting member, used to be 100% blue collar Democrats.

"Super Happy Fun America (SHFA) is a Massachusetts-based right-wing political organization. SHFA and its leaders are known for their ties to white nationalism and the far-right,[1][2][3][4] and the organization has been described by The Daily Beast as a front for the far-right organization Resist Marxism."

Devoted to her country? No, she was devoted to a TV game show host.

A U.S. court has sentenced to three years in prison the first of the rioters of the assault on the Capitol, who gained access to its interior and opened one of the doors for the rest of the crowd cheered by former President Donald Trump to storm the place that January 6, 2021.

The man who has been punished with three years in prison is George Amos Tenney III, 36, of South Carolina, for two federal crimes - obstruction of legal process and assault on a public official - to which he already pleaded guilty in June.

Prosecutors contend that Tenney "played a key role in exacerbating the attack" by forcing open one of the doors through which at least 50 people initially gained access to the Capitol with the stated intention of stopping the peaceful transfer of presidential power...........

    Put this here I guess:

In raids across the country, German police have arrested 25 suspected members and supporters of a far-right group who were allegedly seeking to overthrow the state by force to install as national leader a prince who had sought support from Russia, according to the federal prosecutor’s office.

About 3,000 officers conducted the raids on Wednesday at 130 sites across 11 German federal states against adherents of the so-called Reich Citizens (Reichsbuerger) movement.

Prosecutors said members of the movement were suspected of “having made concrete preparations to violently force their way into the German parliament with a small armed group”.

They added that 22 arrested individuals were German citizens and were detained on suspicion of “membership in a terrorist organisation” while three others allegedly supported the organisation, including a Russian citizen.

Al Jazeera’s Dominic Kane, reporting from Berlin, said that those involved in the plot were “heavily armed”.

“It is suggested that these people have believed that there is a deep state operating in Germany, which is antithetical to Germany’s interests and that this Russian national with others may have tried to approach the Russian Federation for some assistance,” he said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — After securing seditious conspiracy convictions against two leaders of the Oath Keepers, the Justice Department will begin Monday to try to make its Capitol riot case against four others affiliated with the far-right extremist group.

Openings statements are expected in Washington’s federal court less than two weeks after Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, and Kelly Meggs, who led its Florida chapter, were convicted of seditious conspiracy for what prosecutors described as a violent plot to overturn President Joe Biden’s victory.

The defendants facing jurors in the latest trial are Joseph Hackett, of Sarasota, Florida; Roberto Minuta of Prosper, Texas; David Moerschel of Punta Gorda, Florida; and Edward Vallejo of Phoenix. They are charged with several other felonies in addition to seditious conspiracy.

While the Rhodes’ and Meggs’ verdicts were a major victory for the Justice Department, three of their co-defendants were acquitted of seditious conspiracy. The major question in the next trial is whether prosecutors will be convince jurors to convict lower-level defendants of the Civil War-era offense…….

Hawaii’s Proud Boys founder and another individual have been sentenced to four years in prison for their involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot.

On Friday, it was announced that Honolulu resident Nicholas Ochs, 36, and Fort Worth resident Nicholas DeCarlo, 32, were sentenced to 48 months in prison and 36 months of supervised release.

According to reports, in addition to the prison sentences, Ochs was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, $2,000 in restitution, and a $100 special assessment. DeCarlo was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine, $2,000 restitution, and a $100 special assessment.

Before the incident, Ochs and DeCarlo saw Trump at the Ellipse before joining the rioters at the U.S. Capitol. Both individuals spent 40 minutes inside the Capitol after breaking through the Senate Wing Doors.

While inside, Ochs and DeCarlo threw smoke bombs at police and wrote “Murder the Media,” which is the name of the men’s social media channel, on a door to the Capitol.........

Man, they sure are putting a lot of Antifa actors in prison. Can you imagine being undercover Antifa, then the ones you did it for are putting you in prison? You would have thought at least one of them would have come clean by now. LOL...
But i guess they were so far undercover, because they did spend the last 10 or more years creating fake Facebook and Twitter accounts pretending to be MAGA/Republican supporters for so long just waiting on the opportunity..

CNN) — The rioter at the front of a mob that chased US Capitol Police Officer Eugene Goodman up flights of stairs near the Senate chamber on January 6, 2021, has been sentenced to five years behind bars.

Douglas Jensen, who prosecutors say was one of the first 10 rioters to enter the Capitol during the attack, was convicted by a jury in September of each of the seven charges he faced, including obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting a police officer.

“You, by your own actions, put yourself at the forefront of that mob,” Judge Timothy Kelly said to Jensen before handing down his verdict Friday, which includes 36 months of supervised release after he serves his time and $2,000 in restitution for damage to the Capitol…….

$2k for damage to the Capitol? He got off easy. At least he got prison time.

In the latest in an ever-growing list of criminal charges brought against January 6 rioters, a Tennessee man was arrested on Friday for allegedly plotting to kill the FBI agents who were investigating him.

With the House of Representatives committee on the insurrection preparing to deliver its final recommendations on Monday, 34-year old Edward Kelley of Maryville was charged with conspiracy, retaliating against a federal official and solicitation to commit a crime of violence, reported CNN.

Kelley was already facing charges of assaulting an officer during his participation in the 6 January riots…….

Maryland man has been convicted of four felonies in connection with the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol. But a federal judge said the government “had failed to prove he ever assaulted any officers or committed violence,” WUSA

Daniel Egtvedt, of Oakland, Md., was convicted of two counts of forcibly resisting or impeding police at a bench trial before U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper, the report said. But Egtvedt was acquitted of the most serious charges he faced, which were for allegedly assaulting officers.

“Cooper convicted Egtvedt of two counts of forcibly resisting or impeding police – but said the Justice Department had failed to prove he ever assaulted or intended to assault any officers,” WUSA reported. “Cooper also acquitted Egtvedt of two misdemeanor counts of engaging in an act of physical violence. Although Egtvedt was found guilty of the underlying charge for resisting police, Cooper’s finding that he committed no assault could mean Egtvedt will face a lower potential sentencing range at his hearing on March 16.”

In court testimony before Cooper, the report said, it was noted that Egtvedt “had called the officers ‘traitors’ and screamed ‘shoot me’ at them as they attempted to remove him from the building. All of that, Cooper said, was sufficient evidence Egtvedt intended to obstruct the joint session of Congress.”.............

But Egtvedt’s lawyers were apparently successful in arguing that “it was U.S. Capitol Police officers who, in fact, were overly aggressive with Egtvedt and initiated a scuffle that resulted in him slamming the back of his head against a marble column.”............

The trial of five members of the Proud Boys on charges of seditious conspiracy, with the defendants including the group’s longtime chairman, Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, is heading into its second week without a word of testimony being heard.

That is because the federal district court has been struggling to find 12 D.C. residents who can put aside preconceptions of a group that was involved in violent altercations not just at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, but on city streets in the weeks leading up to the riot.

Most potential jurors appearing in court have said they have heard of the Proud Boys — and not positively.

“They conquer through fear and terror,” one said. On Jan. 6, they “fired people up with a significant amount of dangerous rhetoric and misinformation to engage in violent activities,” said another.

Potential jurors have described the Proud Boys as “white nationalists,” “white supremacists” and “white separatists.”

These are the people who made it past a questionnaire sent out to a wider group; disqualifying responses to that survey included, “The Proud Boys are fascist Nazis and I hate them all,” and “I’d be thrilled to find them guilty.”…….

Well, kinda sucks to be ruled out of jury duty when you're not wrong.

An attorney for one of five Proud Boys accused of seditious conspiracy wants to keep two statements from former President Donald Trump out of trial – arguing the Justice Department failed to notify the defense it intended to use them before jury selection began.

In a motion Friday, attorney Nick Smith, who represents Proud Boys organizer Ethan Nordean, asked U.S. District Judge Timothy Kelly to exclude approximately 30 exhibits from trial that were included in a list submitted by the government the day earlier. Jury selection began Dec. 19 and was set to resume Tuesday for Nordean and four co-defendants facing multiple felony conspiracy charges for what the government has described as a plan to assault the U.S. Capitol Building on Jan. 6, 2021.

The exhibits in question are outlined in more detail in a response filed by the DOJ on Monday. They include a number of video clips showing events at the Capitol and damage to the building, as well as a stay-away order issued by a D.C. Superior Court judge for former Proud Boys national chairman Enrique Tarrio and two podcasts featuring North Carolina Proud Boy Jeremy Bertino, who is expected to be a key witness for the government during trial.

Notably, the list also includes two now well-known statements from the former president. One is a 53 second clip from a September 2020 debate between Trump and President Joe Biden in which the former president told Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by."..........

For nearly two hours, about two dozen people on a group Telegram live stream cried, read Scripture, listened to hymns — and prayed fervently for defendants in jail facing trial for their roles in the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

“We pray for unity in those cells,” said one of the group’s leaders, a woman named Aida. “Get close to them, Father God, to protect our brothers.”

This nightly prayer call featured one of many support groups that have formed in the two years since the violent mob — encouraged by former president Donald Trump — stormed the U.S. Capitol building and threatened the country’s peaceful transition of power after Joe Biden’s victory.

Right-wing supporters of the “Jan. Sixers” have formed prayer chains, instigated letter writing campaigns, organized vigils and raised millions for their legal defense — all with the aim of supporting the 932 federally charged defendants they see as valiant patriots, prisoners of conscience persecuted for engaging in their First Amendment rights.

They have persevered despite powerful evidence to the contrary — including judges uniformly excoriating defendants, ongoing guilty pleas and investigations, as well as a recent congressional report showing the extremity of the violence, the detail of the planning and the failure of Trump and other White House officials to quell the riot.

Since 2021, Jan. 6 defendants have raised more than $3.7 million on the Christian crowdfunding website GiveSendGo, according to a Washington Post review of accounts that remain public, and millions more have been raised by umbrella groups in the name of the “patriots” — a flood of money that has raised concerns about fairness and oversight…….

One guesses that anyone arrested at a BLM protest would not be prayed for or have money raised for by the alleged “Christians”.
