Figured we should start a separate thread on the arrests and those involved in the storming of the Capitol. I know it has been talked about in the other thread a lot, but for the ones who just want to follow the ones arrested and/or charged, this will be an easier way to see updates on the investigations.

Link below is everyone who has been arrested. But we know there will be more.

The website seems to be updated with new information daily.

The ones who are getting the most air time:

Picking a jury in DC is going to be tough, but I think it's doable. That said, I'm not so sure changing venue should be in the cards.

Regardless, that idiot needs time in a jail cell. She made a decision to participate in an insurrection and she knew what she was doing. There has to be real consequences to her actions.
Not according the the Police, she didn't ?

You're still on this? I really don't care what police call it. The event was clearly an insurrection and attempt to prevent Congress from certifying the votes. Them not charging her with insurrection doesn't mean it wasn't.
Hmm.. interesting argument. So if the police COULD have charged her with Hedgehog Molestation, but DIDN'T, does that mean that there is insufficient evidence of Hedgehog Molestation ? And in law, doesn't that (currently) make her innocent of the crime ? (in the sense that you are innocent until proven guilty).

    We'll see how this goes
    ======================

A Midland, Texas, florist accused of participating in the Capitol riot has asked for her case to be moved out of D.C., saying the potential jury pool in the city is “tainted” by coverage of the January 6 insurrection.

Jenny Cudd, along with her co-defendant Eliel Rosa, faces charges of obstruction of an official proceeding, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds and disorderly conduct in a restricted building, among other counts.

Cudd, a one-time mayoral candidate, was photographed wearing a Donald Trump for President flag like a cape while joining in a mob that entered the Capitol rotunda during a joint session of Congress on January 6.

In an interview with WUSA9’s sister station NewsWest 9 two days after the riot, Cudd again said that “we the patriots did storm the U.S. Capitol” and that, “Yes, I would absolutely do it again.”

On Wednesday, Cudd’s lawyer filed a motion asking for a change of venue to Texas, saying the jury that would hear the case would be the “most politically prejudiced jury in the entire country” and claiming there is a concerted effort to “cancel” people for being “politically conservative and for their public support of Donald Trump.”...............

Man, that’s a lot of diabetes

Dude, I'm not even talking about what the police charged or even think. You're reading too much into what I posted. I'm simply saying it was an insurrection and she participated in it. Simple as that.

Indeed DavdXA, though it would appear that the police - and the DA's - disagree ? Nobody - yet - has been charged with insurrection ? That suggests that - in the eyes of the law - it was NOT an insurrection, despite the evidence of our own eyes.

Others have already pointed out that insurrection charge MIGHT follow. All I can say is that if they are not being charged NOW, then the prosecution doesn't think it is THAT clear-cut ?

Roof, that's like arguing that someone being charged for manslaughter is innocent of murder, when it's just a different name for the same crime.. whether you want to call it insurrection or obstruction of an official proceeding, maybe that'll help her sleep at night in her jail cell for the next 8-10 years.

    Insurrection:
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

obstruction of an official proceeding (obstuction of justice):
Shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 5 years or, if the offense involves international or domestic terrorism mprisoned not more than 8 years, or both.
There are several variations of the obstruction of an official proceeding, none of which are flattering to be convicted of..

In the judicial system and legal jurisprudence, manslaughter and first-degree murder aren't even close to the same crime. One of the few common denominators is that in both cases, someone is on trial in cases that involve them killing another person. The question to be considered and argued over is intent. Driving home one late afternoon and discovering my wife's infedility, that she's sleeping with her lover in their bedroom, he's overcome with so much rage, anger and hatred in the heat of the moment, gets out a gun and shoots his wife's lover dead and gets arrested, that's manslaughter. He didn't carefully and methodically plan to murder someone to cash in on their large insurance policy or to try and steal his parents flourishing, thriving real estate business.

It’s the same crime to the victim, just saying.....that person is still dead.

Someone is dead because you killed them, the crime is the same

the why you killed them is on a spectrum

I don’t know let’s call the difference of why a difference of degrees

Maybe they can use something like that

I think there is a big difference between 'insurrection' and 'obstruction of an official proceeding' ?

would you consider 'MAGA' a patriotic slogan?
As a slogan, yes I probably would ? Although it DOES imply that America was once great, but has dwindled ?
I'd say that it is a patriotic aspiration ??

    you spelled small wrong.

There really isn't much, have you seen the language for obstruction of an official proceeding? I quoted it above, maybe you missed it?
Does it help them if they are convicted of obstruction of an official proceeding that involves domestic terrorism instead of insurrection? If that helps you sleep better at night thinking "but they didn't get convicted of insurrection!"

    Good.
    ==============================

The Justice Department has charged two men in the assault on Brian D. Sicknick, a Capitol Police officer who died the day after he fought rioters storming the Capitol on Jan. 6, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the case and court documents.

The F.B.I. on Sunday arrested George Pierre Tanios, 39, of West Virginia and Julian Elie Khater, 32, of Pennsylvania on charges of assaulting officers, including Officer Sicknick, with a chemical spray. Mr. Khater was arrested in New Jersey.............

Ask a Trumpster what MAGA means. beyond the words, they can't tell you what it really means.
I believe America has always been great.
That slogan reminds me of the Justin Timberlake song "i'm bringing Sexy back"... I wasn't aware it ever left...

I know you think you are making a point here or are being clever, but you really aren't. A group of people tried to storm the Capitol and stop the process of certifying the election. The hope and belief of those criminals was to prevent Biden, the winner of the election, from assuming the office. Therefore, the intent was to block the freely elected official from taking office and inserting a non-elected substitute.

That is an attempted insurrection. An attempt to remove the legitimate government and substitute an illegitimate government. I don't care what the police charge them with. I don't care what the district attorneys charge them with. It is an attempted insurrection.

Homey joined on January 7th.. I don't think it's by chance that this is the main thing he continues to argue.

Actually, that would be an attempted coup; far more serious than an insurrection. Now then.. which member of the mob was the one who was going to be 'inserted' into the post ?
