Agreed. Even if it is not the fault of Biden and his administration....the Democratic Party will get the blame anyway. The voters need an outlet/method to let everyone know they are not happy.
    November will be that outlet.

What will the voters get when they elect Republicans?

Nothing, that's what. Republicans will do nothing and have promised to do nothing about the economy. They have no plans to do anything about inflation, high gas prices or high food prices other than to complain about it and blame it on Biden. All voters will get out of this Republican party is culture war. I mean, Kevin McCarthy as minority leader... oh yeah, that's going to make things better.

Voters would be stupid to elect Republicans. But they elected Trump, so I guess that's just the US.

Voters elected Trump to send a message that they were tired of politicians saying they were gonna come to Washington DC and shake things up. Tired of decades of politicians who SAID they would be the "voice of change"....yet they were swallowed up by the establishment. They BECAME part of the establishment.
The voters said: "We'll elect Trump. HE ACTUALLY WILL BE DIFFERENT!
Yet when the election was over and it was time to reflect...so many people didn't understand that.
The voters this November will aim to get send their message that they don't like the direction this country is going.
They don't like paying between $50 and $100 to fill their tank (depending on what they drive).
Yesterday I went to Costco...I got a combo pack of facial tissues and a combo pack of paper towels.
My total came to FORTY DOLLARS and something cents. At Costco!
I don't want to hear that in Germany or England its even worse.
    I don't care.
    I'm just not happy.
Many people feel like that and the Dems will be the victim.
The voters won't care if you feel that's not fair.
I'm just tellin' you what will happen.

It’s true, it doesn’t matter who’s to blame, people will blame whoever wields the power for what they are paying at the pump.

It should be interesting to see how this all plays out. We like to think that we can chew bubble gum and walk, but when we get in the booth to vote we can’t think past the most important issue (to us).

Today's climate among the "regular folks" who do not tweet or look at this forum...... Today's climate reminds me of when Newt Gingrich and a ton of Republicans came into power in a wave of change.....

I'm not talking about fairness and I am very aware of what will likely happen in November. I'm just saying it's stupid to vote on feeling without being informed and understanding what is going on, because that's how we get Trump. And Trump didn't make anything better. Neither will Kevin McCarthy as speaker. Neither will the culture war Republicans that will be elected.

I understand being mad or pissed off or just disenchanted. Yeah, crap is more expensive, but things could also be a lot worse (and undoubtedly would be had Trump won a 2nd term). Biden has had to deal with some unpresented challenges and volatility in the 2 years he's been in office. Things have not been perfect, obviously, but he is doing everything he can to straighten things out with constant and unyielding opposition from the right. That's just the truth.

Yeah, and that turned out great for America .

But no doubt you're right, that's the road we're going to go down. For the last 40 years, Americans have just loved to shoot themselves in the foot.

It’s like if 1930s Germany had a Costco.

It would be interesting to see a historical perspective on Newt's 'Contract with America' and see what, if anything, it meaningfully changed in the long run.

That said, while I get the concept of people voting for Trump to shake things up. It's baffling he would get so many votes after he turned out to be a total degenerate during his term in office. And flip-flopping between Republican and Democrat will do nothing. The U.S. has broken form of government that favors a dual-party monopoly. In contrast, over in the U.K. there is some pretty interesting stuff going on where the Tories are on the decline but Labour is not necessarily gaining all of those votes... many are going to the Lib Dem party which has been winning a lot of local office elections and is polling a fairly strong 12-14% for the national/parliamentary election.

Imagine if there was a third party in this country that could consistently field 15% of the House and Senate? Then the major parties would actually have to compromise.

Now THIS post is worthy of a "like" or 👍

Been a long time, but from recollection the closest in recent times was Ross Perot. Google says he got 19% of the vote. But as for multi parties, I am going to assume they would form from breaking off from either (D) or (R). In that case, I think branching off would affect (D) more than (R). (D) have a more "variety" in their party, for lack of a better term. So while you'd have several small factions, you'd still have a strong, solid (R) block that could play obstructionist to whatever was trying to get done.

All of that could be true, but isn't the GOP already split? The Trump loyalists and the Liz Cheney never (again) Trumpers? I'm with Liz and others. It feels like there are two Republican parties currently!

I don’t really think there is a meaningful split in the Rs when you only have two Congress members willing to publicly break with Trump. And even if Cheney and Kinzinger are willing to call out Trump they’re still on board with general R policies: don’t do anything to help ordinary people. No help with prescriptions, no help with childcare, no help with gun safety, no help with healthcare. So I don’t think it’s a policy break as much as it’s a morality break. Most Rs don’t mind Trump’s immoral behavior against American democracy, but some do. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What I'm about to say is the "same old, same old" from me:
I disagree with the last sentence "Most Rs don't mind Trump's immoral behavior".
You don't know that "most" is the appropriate word.
We won't know that until November. Or maybe even longer....maybe we won't know unless Trump is a candidate in the Iowa or New Hampshire Primaries.
AND.....I'm sure there would be many articulate conservative thinkers who could say that they are not in favor of a future Trump Presidency....BUT setting that aside, they'd possibly argue that Trump is not "against American Democracy". (as you word it)
If (God forbid) the people of this land elected him President in Nov. of 2024 (please no!)...but IF that happened, I'm sure they would make the point that Trump would not become a Fidel Castro or a Muammar Gaddafi.
Although I carefully avoid seeing him on tv or Youtube....it is likely that Trump is railing against "mail in voting".....he's not anti democracy....he just wants elections to be the way they were prior to Covid. That's my assumption but I don't want to even hear his voice so I studiously avoid any exposure to him.

Don’t know if they will put up with his immoral behavior?!?

The guy who cheated on all three of his wives? And used campaign funds to pay off a porn star (actually he let his lawyer sit in jail for him)?

The guy that said he could grab women by the vjayjay. On tape. Before the election?

    That guy?
