Steve, his post is clever in that he talks correctly about a couple of things, but he wraps every correct thing in a sandwich of lies.

    1. The Biden Administration isn’t responsible for gas prices in any significant way. No president ever is. So when someone either gives credit (as he does for Trump) or assigns blame (as he does for Biden) they are not being honest with you. His aside about Biden wanting higher gas prices as a stated goal is most certainly false as well.

    2. His claim that nobody except federal workers got a raise is false as well. And he mis-states the federal raise again, as Dave has already corrected him in another thread on that. Lots of people have seen their wages increase after Covid, some markedly. Here’s a good unbiased article laying it out. Some people have done better than infraction, but for most they have not. But on average wages have grown 11% or so, blunting the effects of inflation.

    3. The low unemployment rate is definitely not due to people not choosing to work. Here is a good source for facts about economics under Biden. The good with the bad.

So, this is why I will not miss this poster. He just wings it and says what he feels is true, with little regard for actual truth.
I remember watching a Newt Gingrich interview on crime back in 2016. The interviewer brought up FBI statistics which objectively showed that crime was at an all time low. Dear Newt retorted, that despite that fact, Americans "FEELS" that crime is higher. I mean, if that is the standard by which we judge the direction of the country...economically...crime rates...etc, then hell what is the meaning of any facts or truths whatsoever??? Who the hell cares that inflation, recovering from a supply and demand shock of a post pandemic economy is trending down. That unemployment is low. Who cares! Let's just magically make up BS and move on with our lives. Who cares about science or facts or data collection or evidence. Back to the stone age with us.

I agree with your last sentiment. I just now caught his logic about wheat prices. It boggles the mind that he is so sure of his statements coming from such ignorance. China will not favor higher wheat prices as they are a heavy agricultural importer, including wheat.

China is now the world’s largest agricultural importer, surpassing both the European Union (EU) and the United States in 2019 with imports totaling $133.1 billion.

His ignorance is heavily curated, by his own choice. He lives in a bubble, and looks at highly suspect sites to get his information. If he would just broaden his reading, he wouldn’t be so out of touch with reality. But he has to want to educate himself, ask common sense questions about his beliefs.

It’s counter-intuitive to believe that there is a vast conspiracy of people from both political parties and from independents, including people of integrity who served in the Trump Administration, who are all manufacturing evidence and lying to “get Trump”. It’s crazy to believe that rather than come to the conclusion that Trump is a horrible person, who cares for nothing but himself, and will cheat you out of your money if you give him half a chance. I mean, it’s been his MO for his entire life, he doesn’t really hide it.

Well said, cultish beliefs/behavior is most often counter-intuitive....One of the early things in the Trump admin that stuck with me....I can't remember the name of the general but he basically said (I tried Google but couldn't find it), that Trump doesn't have a single characteristic or personality trait that he would want his kids to emulate.....he was a respected guy with a long decorated career under multiple admins.....to me, that is a major, major red flag.....

Then where is the transparency? I thought democracy dies in darkness...
You realize that is just his hunch, right? We don’t know that they’re hiding anything oh great conspiracy guru. 😁

    where you been?

I do. I just cant help but laugh at the reaction from the MSNBCs of the world, how this is a non-story and just a 'conspiracy theory' but if a Trump was suspected of leaving his/her coke around, they would cover it as if Putin himself put the coke there during his treasonous meeting with the orange man.

This is blatantly racist, btw. Just wanted to note it, because there was so much you know what flooding the zone that some of it flew by.
I will take the bait. What is racist about this?

Okay, dude, you‘re getting all huffy over a hypothetical. Can’t wait until it actually happens to be outraged. Get ahead of the curve. Lol.

If you need to ask, you already know.
That is a dumb statement or genius. I will answer all questions with that line.

So, humor me then, why do you think that was racist?

Jean-Pierre graduated from Kellenberg Memorial High School, a college-preparatory school on Long Island, in 1993.[13] Her parents wanted her to study medicine, and she studied life sciences at the New York Institute of Technology as a commuter student, but performed poorly on the Medical College Admission Test.[14] Changing career tracks, she earned a bachelor's degree from the New York Institute of Technology in 1997.[15] She earned a Master of Public Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), Columbia University, in 2003, where she served in student government and decided to pursue politics.[10][16] At Columbia University, one of her mentors was Ester Fuchs, whose class she attended during the Fall 2001 semester.[10]

She is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole
Current job title: White House press secretary

I'm certain her merit more than qualifies her for that position and she doesn't need to prove that to anyone but herself.

If you say to yourself or make the implication that so-and-so "only got their job because they are black", you might be a racist!

Edit: Sarah Huckabee Sanders doesn't have a Masters in anything other than BS. She also has a BA from Ouachita Baptist University (daddy's alma mater), now she's a Governor. I bet you never questioned her merit.

    I'll humor you.

Because the inference is that Karine Jean-Pierre only got her job because she was black, not because she was qualified for it. You already knew that, that's why I said you didn't really need to ask.

Why isn't the right wing talking about the 70% drop in illegal entries by migrants since May? You'd think that would make them happy. Could it be because Biden has introduced some stability and order at the border to the chaos that the prior administrations had created? Much like with the economy, Biden has turned a traditional weakness for Democrats into a strength of his administration. Who knew that one little app and some clearer instructions for processing migrant entries could make such a difference.

This is just the beginning, but it's a good sign.

    ====================
EL PASO — On the border bridge from Mexico, about 200 asylum seekers lined up on a recent morning with their phones open to a Customs and Border Protection mobile app, ready for appointments at a reception hall on the U.S. side.

Thirty miles north, the Biden administration provided a different reception for those attempting to enter the United States illegally, bringing them to a massive tent complex in the desert for migrants facing deportation. The new 360,000-square-foot facility’s shelves were stocked with diapers, snacks and baby formula, signs of the administration’s efforts to meet the changing demands of U.S. immigration enforcement.

The two locations illustrate the extent to which Biden administration officials have begun transforming the way asylum seekers and migrants are processed along the southern border since May 11, when the White House lifted the pandemic policy known as Title 42. The policy had allowed quick expulsions of migrants who entered the United States illegally but no penalty for those who tried to get in again and again.

Now the administration is allowing tens of thousands of migrants to enter the United States legally each month through the mobile app CBP One, while those who don’t follow the rules face ramped-up deportations and tougher penalties.

The preliminary result is a nearly 70 percent drop in illegal entries since early May, according to the latest U.S. Customs and Border Protection data. After two years of record crossings and crisis-level strains, the Biden administration appears to have better control over the southern border than at any point since early 2021.

The president’s critics continue to depict his border policies as too permissive — geared more toward accommodating mass migration than deterrence. But the decline in illegal crossings undermines a key line of attack for President Biden’s Republican critics and bolsters Democrats’ argument that the pandemic expulsion policy was partly to blame for record numbers of border arrests.

Why would she be considered and also consider herself 'historic' if that were the case? Surely there have been other over educated incompetent people that position before. She was a diversity hire and the WH and she said as much when she was hired.

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/whi...puty-press-secretary-karine/story?id=77922616

"Clearly, the president believes in representation matters. And I appreciate him giving me this opportunity," she said. "And it's another reason why I think we're all so proud that this is the most diverse administration in history."

So, infact, what was said was not racist, it was just the typical hail mary.....'your racist' that those with no real facts throw out to end the conversation. Pathetic and predictable.
