Biden Impeachment Inquiry Hearings (3 Viewers)

You keep misquoting me. I can only assume it’s intentional, and in bad faith. I am asking you once again to stop it.

The collection of files that Rudy and Bannon unleashed isn’t the laptop. Presumably the FBI has the laptop, but the files that were published aren’t it. That is just a fact.

The publicly available files seem to be a mixture of actual files and disinformation. That is another fact. It’s just so, so indicative of your bad faith that you accept these files as 100% accurate and yet you howl about the dossier - which is another mixture - and say it is 100% false. Yet, you see no contradiction.
The laptop has been authenticated by multiple people. I've told you that many times and posted the links to the article. You still continue to push the silly story that Goldman talked about in the hearing and had people laughing at his ridiculous story.

In the years since Miranda Devine’s New York Post article came out, enough reporters to fill a Higgins boat and storm Utah beach have worked on verifying its contents. Ben Schreckinger of Politico published a book detailing how he confirmed key portions, Ken Vogel, Katie Benner, and Michael Schmidt from New York Times said emails in the laptop cache “were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation,” and the Washington Post, after sneering at the “alleged” laptop, waited two years to publish findings of experts who “confirmed the veracity of thousands of emails,” among others. This story has been authenticated, to steal a phrase from Chuck Schumer, six ways from Sunday.

Nope. It’s been shown to be a mixture of files that appear to be legit and files that were added after the date that the FBI supposedly took the actual hardware. Your statement is just a lie.

It has been examined by multiple people. Nobody has said it was authentic. It’s a mixture of files that may be authentic and manipulated files. It’s not hard.

Do you know the difference between all and some? Because you are acting like you don’t.

    NYT:

FBI authenticated it in 2019 according to the whistle-blower:

    Politico:

Ben Schreckinger’s “The Bidens: Inside the First Family’s Fifty-Year Rise to Power,” out today, finds evidence that some of the purported HUNTER BIDEN laptop material is genuine, including two emails at the center of last October’s controversy.

A person who had independent access to Hunter Biden’s emails confirmed he did receive a 2015 email from a Ukrainian businessman thanking him for the chance to meet Joe Biden. The same goes for a 2017 email in which a proposed equity breakdown of a venture with Chinese energy executives includes the line, “10 held by H for the big guy?” (This person recalled seeing both emails, but was not in a position to compare the leaked emails word-for-word to the originals.)

    Washington Post:

In a separate report explaining how The Washington Post analyzed Hunter Biden's laptop, the Post wrote, ‘Thousands of emails purportedly from the laptop computer of Hunter Biden, President Biden’s son, are authentic communications that can be verified through cryptographic signatures from Google and other technology companies," according to two security experts.

    CBS News:

Data from a laptop that the lawyer for a Delaware computer repair shop owner says was left by Hunter Biden in 2019 – and which the shop owner later provided to the FBI under subpoena – shows no evidence of tampering or fabrication, according to an independent review commissioned by CBS News.

Brian Della Rocca, the lawyer for the shop owner, provided to CBS News what he called an "exact copy" of the laptop data provided to federal investigators nearly three years ago. Della Rocca said he considers it "clean" because it predates versions that were widely circulated by Republican operatives to attack then-candidate Joe Biden before the 2020 presidential election.

The independent analysis, by two cyber investigators from Minneapolis-based Computer Forensics Services, found no evidence that the user data had been modified, fabricated or tampered with. Nor did it find any new files originating after April 2019, when store records indicate Biden dropped it off for repair.

I see you are trying to move the goal posts. Nobody said anything about all or some except you. I'm definitely bookmarking this post because I'm sure you will continue to say it's wasn't authenticated.

Define all and some. Do you know the difference between them?

The very articles you are posting say “some”.

SFL: you are conflating 2 different sets of files. If you would only read what you post, good lord, there would be so much better dialog here.

There is a set of files circulated by Rudy and Bannon that were completely compromised. Stuff was added and manipulated. That is what the NY Post published during the campaign in an attempt to sway the election. WaPo analyzed it - it was obviously tampered with extensively. Why don’t you quote the actual WaPo story, rather than a somewhat suspect Fox News piece? Oh, I know, because it showed that the files presented by Rudy and Bannon were trash. They or someone, had compromised it so much it was worthless.

Then there is another set of files put forth by the attorney for the shop owner. It may not have the same extensive tampering. Neither one is “authenticated” by the FBI, as far as I know. They supposedly have the original hardware.

    From your CBS article:

“After two years of scrutiny, the laptop has produced mountains of material about Hunter Biden's personal struggles, and his foreign business ventures in Ukraine and with China. It has not produced direct evidence President Biden benefited from his son's business dealings.”

About the 10% for the big guy email: bolding is mine. The email was written in 2017, when Joe was not in government and was a private citizen. The author of the email says Joe wasn’t involved. We have no proof of the money actually changing hands, either.

“Two of Hunter's former business partners, including Tony Bobulinski, who received the email, have told CBS News that "10 held by H for the big guy?" is shorthand for 10% held by Hunter for his father.

But when the email became public in 2020, the author, James Gilliar, told the Wall Street Journal that Joe Biden was not involved. Gilliar has not responded to CBS News' questions.

Bobulinski had a falling out with Hunter Biden, and has been a critic of the president and his son.”

so no proof from the laptop, sorry.

unlike the scholars that make up the bulk of NewsMax's audience
    =================================
Rep. James Comer (R-KY) lashed out at CNN's audience after he was told network host Jake Tapper made him "sound like a joke."

During an interview on Monday morning, Newsmax host Rob Schmitt reflected on Comer's recent discussion with Tapper on CNN

"He's making your investigation sound like a joke, and he's trying to make you look like a joke," Schmitt pointed out. "And then half of America sees that, and they think your investigation is a joke.

"How do you work around that?" the Newsmax host asked. "How do you work through that?"

"Well, that's the first time I went on CNN in three months," Comer explained. "We thought we would give it a try. You know, Jake Tapper is an intelligent guy, but he's playing to a low IQ audience."............

Welp, since his investigation is a joke that should be unsurprising.

This really is such a sham. Since 2019, and they still have nothing to support criminal wrongdoing and an impeachment against President Biden.

Amazing. Chuck Grassley, who has been leading the Senate's Hunter Biden investigation for four years, admits "I have no evidence ... the facts haven't taken me to that point where I can say the president is guilty of anything."

It’s quite possible the stupid inquiry will uncover more of Trump’s high crimes and misdemeanors than Joe Biden.

I hope you are right. That will be the only good thing that can come from this action. This whole thing seems like a huge waste of time and tax payer money. Impechment has been used so sparingly in the past, and now our representatives are jumping on it every chance they get.

So many of these Idiot Republicans tweeting out differing versions of this same BS... Irony meter is in the red.

Amid the Republican clamor to impeach Joe Biden this week, some in the rightwing media have been more skeptical about the process moving ahead despite no evidence of wrongdoing by the president.

Several figures at Fox News, a usually reliable mouthpiece for most Republican party initiatives in Washington DC, have shown signs of “impeachment fatigue”, appearing to question the motivation of the vote to authorize an impeachment inquiry that Biden himself has condemned as “a baseless political stunt that even Republicans in Congress admit is not supported by facts”.

Peter Doocy, Fox’s White House correspondent, was among the most vocal, telling viewers that “Republicans are still trying to connect” money that the president’s son, Hunter Biden, earned overseas to accounts controlled by Joe Biden.

“The House oversight committee has been at this for years, and they have so far not been able to provide any concrete evidence that Joe Biden personally profited from his son Hunter’s overseas business,” Doocy said.

“But they are going to try again with this impeachment inquiry.”

The same segment, on Fox Business Network’s Varney & Co, also aired a lengthy clip of a CNN interview with Eric Holder, attorney general during the Obama administration in which Biden was vice-president, reinforcing the message.

“I have seen no indication that there’s any kind of connection between the president and the actions for which his son has been charged,” Holder said, referring to last week’s criminal indictmentagainst Hunter Biden in California on tax evasion charges.

“That doesn’t mean Donald Trump or Republicans are not going to try to draw those connections. They’ve tried to weaponize the justice department in ways inconsistent with the best traditions of the department.”

Fox Business giving so much time to views challenging the Republican impeachment action is at best unusual, given there is plenty of cheerleading for it elsewhere on the network. The segment was enhanced by Doocy’s emphasis that “in this latest 56-page indictment, the only Biden accused of wrongdoing is Hunter”.

Doocy is the son of Steve Doocy, a veteran Fox News host whose anti-impeachment views aired on Monday caused Kentucky Republican James Comer, the oversight committee chair, to announce he would boycott the network for his criticism of the impeachment effort.…….
