I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

However, it is inescapable that groups exhibit tendencies.
Of course groups exhibit tendencies. That's why they are groups. Groups of murderers tend to murder. Groups of robbers tend to rob people. Groups of racists tend to be racists. It's all in HOW you group them and more importantly, why they are being grouped.

I'm still not following. Are you saying that if a black kid misbehaves, it shouldn't matter what his actions alone were, It should be taken into account what other black kids in the school have done and reputations are?
In an ideal world kids that misbehave should be disciplined the same way. Let te numbers fall where they fall.
A student should be judged as an individual and not as a member of a group. The stereotype of the group should never be applied to an individual.

    Do you agree?

Is there the possibility that some groups misbehave more than others?

    So which is it?

Judge each person individually? Or assume that "some groups misbehave more than others"?

How do you stereotype a group without stereotyping the individuals who make up that group?

Thanks, I was just about to ask the same question.

Paul, you were the one who put the "what if some groups misbehave more than others" out there.
My guess is he is now crawfishing on his original statement.

yea, this principal has made a terrible decision.

People who live in that school district should all be voicing their opinions. The rest of us should not even be aware of it.
Well, obviously, I disagree. I think being aware of it will help parents across the nation ask the right questions. In this situation, it was not made public, it took one parent to ask for a particular teacher for their kid to get this information.
The public school system obviously only care about your child as a cog to be indoctrinated so parents need to be vigilant.

And if you ask for information, you will get sued.

Maybe we need a thread about horribly the public school system has and is failing our kids?

How long do you believe that this would have been kept "secret"?

I think it would have become obvious on the first day of school.

But by all means, continue with your media induced hysteria over rocks and local school decisions that will never impact your life.

Didn't someone post an article/study that showed black students get disciplined more than white students and the percentage were roughly the same as the criminal justice statistics?

I like to judge people individually but using available data to make a decision or come to a conclusion is not racist, it is using actual real world data.

Such a thread will definitely be unique to the 'variety' of others you've made.
By all means, I am open to suggestions. Do you have one? Would you like to start the thread and you can name it?

So, what I am seeing here is that you are proposing that black people are different than white people. They are disciplined more during their school days and commit more crimes, therefore they are different. Is this what you are saying?

Cripes. Indoctrinated??? Like the bullschlitz being advanced in various legislatures? That kind of indoctrination?

    Get a grip.

    Define misbehave.

my wife taught for 35 years. She taught in Catholic schools and public schools. She taught primarily in low income areas. The last 27 years of her career she taught physics.

The reasons that a child, any child, behaves in a particular manner are extremely numerous and varied. This also applies to the manner in which children learn. Among the forces at work which impact “behavior” are the following: economic, family situation, peer groups, hierarchies with which the child comes into contact, emotional growth, physical growth, physical characteristics, social “norms” and attitudes including particularly what is “acceptable and normal”, the physical world and access or lack thereof, health and access or lack thereof to healthcare.

    Shall we go on?
Thank you for making my point. The kids behave better in Catholic schools. As you said, this is all about the type of home kids have. Children from dysfunctional homes misbehave more often.
