I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

If this is virtue signaling what would you call movies and TV shows set in New York or Los Angeles with zero minorities?

not in the main cast, not the guest stars, not even background people sitting or walking around?

and I didn't have a problem with the ghostbusters reboot, the original holds a special place in my heart and it wasn't close to that but it was nowhere near as bad as it was portrayed
I don't think I have paid attention to back ground actors except to make fun of the ones really 'trying to get noticed'. What shows, movies are you talking about?

    Yeah, it was pretty awful.

I'll go ahead and say it here, but every time someone says the Paul Feig-directed Ghostbuster reboot is virtue signaling must be operating under the assumption that he doesn't know how to direct comedies and that Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Melissa McCarthy are all, collectively, untalented and unfunny. That speaks volumes to a person's grasp of reality.
I have seen all 4 of those ladies be funny AF and also pull off some great acting. Why was it not in that horrible flick? It was either the talent, the writers or the producer, unless you are one of those people that blame the audience for not liking 'art'. How were the reviews between that shirt show and afterlife? It is almost as if when hollyweird tries to just tell the same story but check all the PC boxes, they produce garbage that no one likes.

    It was awful.

Did you know that only about 10-20% of children who are home schooled take a placement test like the SAT or ACT compared to almost 60% of traditionally schooled children? That’s an important statistic if you are going to compare average test scores among groups. So maybe that’s not something you should be using to jump to some sort of conclusion.
Sure, that is fair to point out.
But these are done on the mean average. Can you show me study where public schools have out preformed home schooling in regards to actual education (not gender or racial theory nonsense). Go back as far as you need. I think 1980 is when studies started to be conducted.

I know virtue signaling, a non-entity, is upsetting to someone who has no virtue.
So the only way to be virtuous is to show it off? I think you are mistaken pride with virtue and it might do you some good to have a look at humility as well.

See Sarah Huckabee Sanders eliminating “Latinx” via executive order. Heckiva free speech, no government interference party you got going.
Language evolves, correct? Did 'latinx' evolve natuarally or was it forced?

You would be correct either way because no one uses that word except for liber white people. Can you imagine any other race telling another race what they will be called, wheter they like it or not? Talk about racist. So Gov. Sanders just ended some racist policies. Good on her.
But, being you, you don't question the talking points but just get angry at anyone that does. Does that mean you are also angry and think the 96% of Hispanics are also bigoted for not liking the new name the whites americans have decided on what they are to called?

The use of the term “Latinx” has been a divisive issue for some time – and a new poll shows that it’s the least popular signifier among Hispanic and Latino people.

Gallup found that only 4% of Hispanic and Latino Americans prefer the term Latinx, a gender neutral signifier that has gained popularity in some circles in recent years

“The reality is there is very little to no support for its use and it’s sort of seen as something used inside the Beltway or in Ivy League tower settings,” said Domingo Garcia, president of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the oldest Latino civil rights organization in America. He made the comment in announcing the group’s decision to drop “Latinx” from its official communications because it’s so unliked by most Latinos. “LULAC always rep Jose and Maria on Main Street in the barrio and we need to make sure we talk to them the way we talk to each other.”

Do you live in the state?

If a state reinstituted slavery, i would care even if I didn't live there.

If a state wants to change policeman to policeperson, we really shouldn't be a snowflake about it.
Do you agree there is a difference between the state attempting to change vs. compelling someone to speak certain words?
I have a problem with the state compelling speech in any and all forms, you don't. That makes me a snowflake, cool.

I have seen all 4 of those ladies be funny AF and also pull off some great acting.

If you acknowledge that all four of them are talented actors and comedians, how is casting them all in a comedy considered virtue signaling?

Why was it not in that horrible flick? It was either the talent, the writers or the producer, unless you are one of those people that blame the audience for not liking 'art'.

Audiences have all sorts of reasons to like or not like something. Some of those reasons are valid, some aren't.

How were the reviews between that shirt show and afterlife? It is almost as if when hollyweird tries to just tell the same story but check all the PC boxes, they produce garbage that no one likes.

    It was awful.

The Paul Feig-led Ghostbusters is 73% positive from critics and only 39% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Ghostbusters: Afterlife is 63% critic and 94% audience. I give the edge to Afterlife for the pure nostalgia, though the 2016 version wasn't bad.

As for my comment above that some reasons for not liking a film or TV show are valid and others aren't, I point you to the MCU, where there is a well-documented history of review bombing certain projects. It happened to Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, and (to a lesser extent) Black Panther. What makes these title characters different from the others?

Latinx isn't racist. That's just stupid.

No Hispanic wants Sarah Huckabee Sanders or Arkansas state government passing laws on the usage of Latinx. She's way out of her lane, but it doesn't surprise me that you and she both thinks she should be the arbiter of this subject. You both are quite accustomed to dictating to minorities what they should think, believe and feel.

Nobody is forcing Latinos and Latinas to use Latinx. But now, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Arkansas is prohibiting them from using Latinx in her state. She just needs to butt the fork out and leave that to people who aren't her. Because nobody invited her to this discussion and nobody cares what she thinks.

It's not like Arkansas had some law requiring LatinX that she is undoing.

She is purely virtue signaling, and placing a new limit on freedom to do it.

Mean doesn’t do anything to correct the apples to oranges comparison here. I don’t think studies are particularly useful when you are comparing two student populations with this amount of divergence from each other. Gender and racial theory (lol) are not subjects in schools. LOL again.

The percentage of home-schooled children who go on to further their education is one thing you could look at. But comparing means (or most other statistics) when you have a self-selected population that tends to be very different from the overall school population isn’t telling you very much unless you account for those differences and it would be difficult to do that.

You have a problem with the state compelling speech (which wasn‘t happening) but you’re fine with the state outlawing speech? Make that make sense.

To show us that hollywood is bringing down the patriarchy and all that jazz. This isn't something new. Woke is shoehorned into most projects the pervs in hollywood do now. That is why most fail so hard. People just want to be entertained, not lectured.
It is like the ESPN talking heads, they feel so insignificant that their job is sports so they invent reason to talk about political and cultural issues but by doing that, they fail at their real job.

Yeah, if you want to watch a good movie, check for the movie that has the biggest gap between audience and critics. Critics are ideologues.

By injecting a made up word into state/legal documents you are in fact forcing Hispanics to use a label they don't like. Why? So some middle aged white people can feel better about themselves? That is racist.

What speech is outlawed or what speech do I want to be outlawed?

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/nh...-office-blasts-league-discriminatory-job-fair

After Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' office blasted the National Hockey League for hosting a "discriminatory" job fair that only allows certain groups of people to attend, the league backtracked and said the event is open to all individuals over 18-years-old.

The event, titled "Pathway to Hockey Summit" is scheduled for on Feb. 2 during the 2023 All Star Festivities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and seeks to help "diverse job seekers who are pursuing careers in hockey."

According to a now-deleted post by the NHL promoting the event on LinkedIn, the event is only open to certain groups of people.

"Participants must be 18 years of age or older, based in the U.S., and identify as female, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and/or a person with a disability. Veterans are also welcome and encouraged to attend," the event description states.

Looks like the NHL just listed all the protected classes were talking about. Can you guess what kind of person is not invited to attend the 'job' fair?

    Straight white men.

You keep talking out of both sides of your mouth. Were these talented women cast because of their talent or to be "woke"? What lecture did the movie force everyone to sit through?

It is like the ESPN talking heads, they feel so insignificant that their job is sports so they invent reason to talk about political and cultural issues but by doing that, they fail at their real job.

They're people. People have opinions. Shocking...

Yeah, if you want to watch a good movie, check for the movie that has the biggest gap between audience and critics. Critics are ideologues.

Why not answer the question? Why were the projects led by women and/or people of color the ones that were targeted with so much vitriol?
