I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

So, first of all nobody is saying words are equal to violence. Nobody. This is a common propaganda tactic however, to change up and/or overstate what someone is saying and pretend to argue against what was never stated. It’s not forthright or a sign of someone who is conversing in good faith.

It is also disingenuous (due to the entirety of human history) to pretend that words do not ever lead to violence. We’ve seen it in history over and over, ad nauseum.

But to take a stereotypical example - Hitler couldn’t have just rolled into power and started killing Jewish people. Germany was a fairly free country, it wouldn’t have been tolerated. He had to make the case gradually. With words.

Lots of stories about how Jews were evil money-grubbing traitors to the Fatherland. Examples in the press that were completely made up, or lacked critical context, or were twisted around to prove his point. It got to the point where most people believed that Jews had “stabbed Germany in the back” and caused it to lose WWI. The hatred stirred up was virulent.

Then there started to be a few terroristic attacks on Jewish people, which were celebrated by his party. After all, “they deserved it”. These were increasingly carried out by members of the Nazi Party.

And so on, until nobody batted an eye when he started rounding up Jewish people and sending them to concentration camps.

So when you state that words cannot cause violence, it’s the type of gaslighting that Carlson specializes in. Exactly.
    So ideas lead to violence?

How did western culture create racism? Am I correct in saying that racism did not exist before western culture?
You are correct, generally, in nothing that you have posted here at least since I have joined.

I do and for someone who said it wasn't being taught, makes me wonder if you do. I have defined it in this thread. Can you define CRT?
Fine. Humor me. List it again. Because I doubt you have.

Holy schlitz! You cannot mentally, physically or spiritually be so incredibly naive. Tell that to those who believe The Protocols of Zion are real. Tell that to the those who were bought and sold by those who believed so-called scriptures justified owning human beings.

The examples of words, that is, ideas, leading to violence are littered throughout history.

Ever heard of the law of unintended consequences?

I may be wrong, but I don't remember racist backlash against the live action play broadcast of the little mermaid from a few years ago

And I also don't recall much social media outrage about Hamilton, "black actors portraying the founding fathers? and they're rapping?"

Maybe there is something extra triggering about a movie, though I can't imagine what the reason may be

Again with my play/ filmed play theory

didn't see anything about just aired Beauty and the Beast where H.E.R. played Belle (with other minority roles)

Same cast in a big budget big screen live action version would probably be a different story

In order to 'prove' that only the west has racism and is, in fact, the creator of racism, you link a book about the origins of racism in the west? I think you might be doing that wrong.

Are you telling me the African kingdoms that sold captured other Africans to the west and East did so because of the bible? What about the slaves that existed before even the old testament? Is that still the white mans fault too?

So, in your opinion, you think words should be policed and the 1st amendment should only be for approved 'ideas'? That might be the most honest thing you have said on here. Congratulations!

If this is your response to what I wrote, then there’s no point in further discussion. You’re not a good faith poster or person, sadly.
Ok. I am sorry you are not able to express your ideas with words thus proving the two are separate.

Didn’t say racism originated in the West. Did say that racism as it exists in this country derives from the West.

No, failure Farb I did not say that tribes enslaving others on the African continent was done with support of scripture, Christian scripture. I did say that the Trans-Atlantic slave trade had Christian scripture as a justification. Christians in various countries used alleged deity approval for their actions. Do you know anything about history or do you just come around to stir the schlitz storm?

Congratulations! Your rate of failure is still 100%. Cyber bullying, verbal abuse in marriage/relationships, Mein Kampf, The Protocols of The Elders of Zion, “Jews Will Not Replace Us” followed by a car being driven into a crowd, white only primaries in Texas after reconstruction, destruction of the Kulaks in the USSR.

You are worse than a fool if you think words do not have consequences.

Someday, maybe, you will actually say something intellectually honest on this forum.

But I ain’t holding my breath.

Btw, you know who does think words have consequences and that free speech is not absolute? The SCOTUS.

And you’re still a bad faith poster who wants to excuse violence as long as it’s toward those you don’t like.

So you are describing a world wide event with no particular association with a any particular religion/views over any other. I think we can agree on that. Is that what you are saying?

Yes MT, anyone who disagrees with you views wants violence against (insert identity here). You have solved that mystery.

You consider hurting someone feeling with a word to violence?
So the 1st Ad is just a suggestion?

Who in your opinion, since my 'failure rate is 100%' should regulate speech, Congress, the white house, the blue checks?
