I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

Daniel Tosh used to have a skit on his show called "is this racist?". So, is this racist?

"Me, a hostess at Cracker Barrel, wondering how every employee knew a table was full of Canadians even though they didn't have a telling accent," the TikToker, @cinnamnhoney, said via text overlay. "'Canadian' is a code word for Black people."

The TikToker then singled out a waitress in the caption of the clip.

"A waitress used to complain SO MUCH if i sat 'canadians' in her section & i was so confused bc i thought canadians were stereotyped as nice," she added.

The TikToker uses a mashup of Psy's "Gangnam Style" to set the video; the sound is being used by TikTokers to share their most traumatic experiences.

Her video has been viewed over 235,000 times since it was posted on March 6. Viewers who said they also worked in the food-service industry shared what other acts of racism they've witnessed on the job.

"Servers will also use the code 'the Mondays.' The service industry is incredibly racist- I’ve been in 5 diff restaurants and saw the same thing at all." one wrote.

"I had an old co-worker come and ask me if I saw the gang outside, it was a black family… 'any group of 3 or more of them is a gang!' he told me," another recalled...........

I waited table in the past and this is a real thing. We also called table full of Europeans 'candanians', especially the crazy amount of Germans we always had. There was also a party of Gypsies, yes, the real ones, that used to come in 1 weekend a month. Party of about 40. We also called them canadians. We had regular white and black people that we called Canadians. All because they did not tip.
Is that racist or is it derogative to Canadians?

Do you believe the races can be categorized like this? Lol
Apparently, by Saul's statement. I am just trying to rank the level of annoying that is displayed by white compared to all the other races.

I just took it as a self-deprecating joke, not some sort of racial statement. But that’s just me evidently.

I took it as such too, but it is a racist thread, so it got me thinking.

    ==========================================

James Madison’s Montpelier estate drew national attention last year when the board that manages the historic home announced plans to share authority equally with descendants of people who were once enslaved there.

But that unique arrangement appeared in tatters Friday afternoon as the board voted to strip power-sharing status from the Montpelier Descendants Committee, a group representing African Americans who trace their roots to the community.

The vote caps at least two years of rising tensions between the board and the committee, even as Montpelier’s reputation has grown as a pioneer in empowering groups who were traditionally marginalized by the telling of history.

“It is a complete reversal of their public commitment that was made on June 16, 2021,” said James French, head of the committee and a member of the Montpelier Foundation’s board. “It’s a rejection of the principle of equality of descendant voices and it’s very unfortunate, because it is a missed opportunity for Montpelier to make history.”

Five descendants of enslaved people serve on the board, three chosen by the committee and two by the foundation. The change in bylaws approved Friday strips the committee of its ability to name future members, giving the foundation more control over the makeup of the board.

Foundation chairman Gene Hickok said in an interview that the change is not an effort to back away from the commitment to fully represent descendants on the board, a concept called structural parity. Instead, he said, the board has found the committee difficult to work with and wants the ability to choose descendant members from a wider pool.

“This is an effort to reset the process,” Hickok said. “It certainly doesn’t have the board backing away from parity. We are very committed to parity. The challenge has been organizationally getting there.”..........

Sounds like Essence Fest every year when restaurants in the CBD undergo construction, or maintenance.

On today episode of "is it racist?"

    https://mynorthwest.com/3399911/ran...ipline-white-students-get-harsher-punishment/

The Clover Park School Board adopted a revised student discipline policy at its March 14 meeting by a vote of 3-2. At times, the meeting was contentious as two board members argued it’s wrong to use race to determine punishment. The district is majority-minority, with 28% white students.
According to the policy, disruptive students may face “exclusionary as well as positive and supportive forms of discipline.” But the focus, the policy maintains, is to keep students in the classroom and provide “equitable educational opportunities.”
To make student discipline outcomes more “equitable,” the policy must meet “individual student needs in a culturally responsive manner” via “culturally responsive discipline.”

    It indeed is.

Can't be racist. The policy doesn't mention anything about race. Following your logic from the "Don't Say Gay" bill DeSantes signed, it can't be racist if it doesn't mention race.

That would be a great response if it were true.

    5. What do the terms equity, diversity and inclusion (sometimes referred to as DEI) and cultural competency mean? Those terms are defined in ESSB 5044 as follows: • Diversity describes the presence of similarities and differences within a given setting, collective, or group based on multiple factors including race and ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, age, educational status, religion, geography, primary language, culture, and other characteristics and experiences; • Equity includes developing, strengthening, and supporting procedural and outcome fairness in systems, procedures, and resource distribution mechanisms to create equitable opportunities for all

Why create a different level of standard punishment in schools based on characteristics that have no bearing on a kids ability to behave. Unless we are saying that certain races of kids can't behave because of their home environment? In that case, races should not play a part as home life has no bearing on race, right?
