I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

"It should come as no surprise that there are several Latino male white nationalists"

No one else finds this comical? We live in a time of pretzel reality.

Nope. There is a percentage of Henry's out there that take up white nationalist talking points on blacks and other minorities. And even some that take up leadership positions in organizations that represent those views. With the browning of America also comes this unfortunate side effect (which seems to have increased during the Trump years as they see how "other" Americans are treated and dehumanized), but this is nothing new. For those American Henry's, it's better to be seen as white or white sympathizing and take up those talking points than to be cast as "the other".

I may be completely off base here, but I don’t think Latino and white are mutually exclusive. I know a lady from the Dominican Republic who certainly identifies as white. Maybe some of our members can help me out here.

They are not. Many people from many different Latino origins identify as white.

I never have because growing up as a little kid in Louisiana, I never saw myself as white. The only identity I knew from my parents was being Puerto Rican. Likewise among my friends and in Louisiana's society, I was never white, so I never identified as being white. When I was younger, I was able to mark "Hispanic" as my race, with "Puerto Rican" as my ethnicity. That's no longer an option, so I just mark "other" for race with "Puerto Rican" as my ethnicity now on the census or any other official forms. "Other" is probably the best racial discerption for me as well, as I undoubtedly have European "Spanish" ancestry in my line, but it is also more than likely mixed with indigenous and African ancestry as well.

I used to work with a black woman who was adopted by a white family and grew up and lived in a very upper middle class neighborhood

She was lighter skinned (think Halle Berry), but very obviously black

But it was your arse if you called her black or made any reference at all to her being black

She was genuinely upset, surprised and angered if anyone did

Now she was smoking hot so the guys left it alone, but the black women in the office weren't having it at all

A screaming match and/or fistfight was liable to break out at any given time (it never did as far as I knew, but the tension was always there)

When I meet Latinos, if the social circumstance is right we might get to the point that we'll discuss our tribal affiliations, a form of social introduction that deals with where are you from, and who are your people.

I'm from Middle Eastern tribal native stock (Jewish), as well a bit of Welsh and Scottish tribal blended in, and a 32nd bit of two American Indian tribes, which I suppose when added up comes to be a full 16th bit.

I'm pink, not white. We talk about it and set the basis for who we are, and from there go forward.

Most of the Latino's I encounter here are from Mexican native tribes, various bands who would be fairly closely related to our Apache natives from right there on the border near here. However some are from bands that are from a long way from here.

If one says "Latino" I think North American and South American native peoples. Not really all that different than our native American Indians.

When someone says I'm "Hispanic" Then I think of white European stock likely from Spain or Portugal, not all that different than our WASP's here. Except they tend to be Catholic.

You worked with Mike Tirico’s sister?

    John Cleese coming in hot.

Comedic or not, reparations are such a hot topic, I wonder if anything comes of the talk of reparations.
Impossible, only African's can claim aggrieved status from Slavery and only at the hands of white Europeans (or actually, Western Civilization).

Does that cancel out stuff like this? Or is this a hoax too?

Louisiana Student Charged with Hate Crime for Whipping Black Classmate

Per video footage, the incident happened in the school cafeteria at Vandebilt Catholic High School in Houma March 9. The 15-year-old white freshman walked up behind the Black student and proceeded to throw cotton balls at him and whipped him with his belt. The Black student stood up and pushed him away.

Cancel out, no, I don't think so. Sounds like a bully got what he deserves. I think a hate crime might be a little much for a high school fight but those are the rules.

not just a bully, a rascist bully. i would like to think he'd reflect on how this could potentially ruin his life for a while, but i have a gut feeling he'll blame the wokeness or cancel culture and just double down on his racism like most do..

The House on Friday passed the CROWN Act, which would ban hair-related discrimination.

The measure, H.R. 2116, passed in a vote of 235-189 along party lines. It was introduced by Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., CROWN stands for Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair. It prohibits "discrimination based on an individual's texture or style of hair." The bill will now go to the Senate for consideration.

The legislation states thatroutinely, people of African descent are deprived of educational and employment opportunities” for wearing their hair in natural or protective hairstyles such as locs, cornrows, twists, braids, Bantu knots, or Afros.

"Here we are today, standing on behalf of those individuals, whether my colleagues on the other side recognize it or not, are discriminated against as children in school, as adults who are trying to get jobs, individuals who are trying to get housing, individuals who simply want access to public accommodations and to be beneficiaries of federally-funded programs," Watson said in remarks on the House floor Friday morning.

"And why are they denied these opportunities? Because there are folks in this society who get to make those decisions who think because you're hair is kinky, it is braided, it is in knots or it is not straight and blonde and light brown, that you somehow are not worthy of access to those issues."

    "Well," she added, "that's discrimination."

"There's no logical reason that anyone should be discriminated against on any level because of the texture of their hair or the style of their hair," Watson Coleman said.

Without naming him, she referenced Andrew Johnson, a Black varsity high school wrestler in New Jersey with dreadlocks who was forced in 2018 to make a choice: cut his hair or forfeit his match.

"This bill is vitally important," she said. "It's important to the young girls and the young boys who have to cut their hair in the middle of a wrestling match in front of everyone because some white referee says that your hair is inappropriate to engage in your match."

Before a vote was taken, a number of Black and African American legislators spoke of having been discriminated against because of their hair...........

Thank goodness. Our leaders are on a roll! They finally outlawed lynching. Who knew murder was not already outlawed.

Definition of virtue signaling paid for by the tax payer.
