I fear we are really going to be in a bad place due to the obvious cuts to the federal agencies that deal with infectious disease, but also the negative effect the Affordable Care act has had on non urban hospitals. Our front line defenses are ineffectual and our ability to treat the populous is probably at an all time low. Factor in the cost of healthcare and I can see our system crashing. What do you think about the politics of this virus?

Well considering that dude gets as much UV as anyone with all the tanning nonsense is what makes it so stupid.

Denmark may end up being better off than Sweden and Sweden may end up being better off than quite a few other countries. But I think when considering nations that had a good or better approach more things than death rate should be considered - particularly the death rate right now. I mean Sweden knew going in that their approach would have the result of people dying but considered other factors as well (as all countries have done) and perhaps valued something else in a way Denmark did not.

Just as an example - I think Sweden's idea, in a way, was to get it over with on this first wave. Right? Perhaps that ends up being a "better" call. Perhaps not.

It's become more apparent that Trump was pretty reckless with his fervent backing of hydrochloriquine.. that said, man you took fish tank cleaner, no one told you to do that.

Though I am beginning to think they were lucky there wasn't any fish tank cleaner sitting in the White House somewhere for Trump to stumble upon.

Even if we assume that he did not literally mean to study using common disinfectant products in the lungs, though he clearly did, does he not think that anyone before that moment had considered that maybe someone, maybe a pharmaceutical company, should take a look at trying to develop a product that might clear the infections in COVID patients' lungs? What did he think they had been looking to do before?

What I'm waiting for is one of his supporters to try and explain how we are supposed to OK with the president speaking at a press briefing regarding one of the worst medical disasters in a century, and he asks a question just to see what reporters will do, instead of actually working towards helping the country recover.

I know Trump is an imbecile, but even imbeciles know not to inject Lysol! I'm still shocked that he would say that. Apparently Lysol was petrified of lawsuits, so they immediately issued a warning to people not to inject their products. I have an idea for Trump. Trump should experiment with these ideas on himself before proposing his fake cures. I know that idea won't be heeded, so how about this. Trump should stay off of the stage, and let people with common sense and intelligence do the talking. Everyday he just causes more chaos with his nonsense.
