Didn't really see a place for this so I thought I would start a thread about all things LGBTQ since this is a pretty hot topic in our culture right now

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/06/17/sup...y-that-refuses-to-work-with-lgbt-couples.html

  • The Supreme Court on Thursday delivered a unanimous defeat to LGBT couples in a high-profile case over whether Philadelphia could refuse to contract with a Roman Catholic adoption agency that says its religious beliefs prevent it from working with same-sex foster parents.
  • Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion for a majority of the court that Philadelphia violated the First Amendment by refusing to contract with Catholic Social Services once it learned that the organization would not certify same-sex couples for adoption.

I will admit, I was hopeful for this decision by the SCOTUS but I was surprised by the unanimous decision.

While I don't think there is anything wrong, per se, with same sex couples adopting and raising children (I actually think it is a good thing as it not an abortion) but I also did not want to see the state force a religious institution to bend to a societal norm.

No, they are not, that is why they need to be accurate and not misleading for the sake of a crazy person's feelings of affirmation.

We really need to fire up the asylum the system again.
So, I can’t follow this, sorry.

Yes, keep big government out of our private lives

Yes, keep big government out of our private lives

Keep religion out of our government and private lives first!!! We need to get back to "government shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion".

I want my freedom to not be ruled by the religious beliefs and edicts of others.

Go one, what is the rest of 1st...

This you?

I do have a say. My say just ended federal abortion. My vote was my 'say'. See how that works. Politicians chose to spend my money, that I was forced to give them, on something I am morally against. I voted for politicians to to cancel out their vote and you can see the fruits of it now.
It is almost how a federal democracy was designed to work.

Yes that is me!! Thanks.
So, I voted to take abortion away from the federal government and into more localized government.

I don't think this proves what you think it proves!! LOL :) :)

Well that is convenient for the atheists isn't it?
It is convenient for everyone. You wouldn't want, say, Sikhism pushed by the federal government as the official religion, and be forced to never cut your hair and wear a turban at all times, and swear off guns.

Doesn't it make you wonder, why the very first sentence in the Bill of Rights gives us freedom from all religion?

Where does it say 'freedom from all religion'?

"North Carolina Courage defender Jaelene Daniels missed her team's National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) 3-3 draw against the Washington Spirit on Friday after refusing to wear a Pride jersey, the Courage have confirmed.

Daniels previously refused a U.S. women's national team call-up in 2017 over rainbow-themed gay pride jerseys.

Friday's game took place as part of the Courage's Pride Night celebrations and also featured a pregame Pride festival in partnership with Harmony: NC LGBT+ Allied Chamber of Commerce and the LGBT Center of Raleigh.

"Jaelene will not be rostered tonight as she has made the decision to not wear our Pride jersey," a Courage spokeswoman said in a statement to media before the game.

"While we're disappointed with her choice, we respect her right to make that decision for herself. We're excited to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with our fans, players and staff tonight and look forward to hosting our first ever Pride Festival before kickoff.""

Is this a bid deal to the LGTBQ group?

https://www.iwf.org/identity-crisis-jeannette

Jeannette Cooper never imagined she’d lose custody of her child. The 44-year-old lifelong educator always considered herself a loving and responsible mother to her daughter Sophia. But when, at age 12, Sophia suddenly claimed to be transgender, Jeannette was skeptical. Sophia had never exhibited signs of gender dysphoria. In fact, Sophia exhibited many more traditionally feminine behaviors and preferences than Jeannette ever had. To Jeannette, it didn’t make sense.

But Sophia insisted, not only that she was trans, but that she was ‘unsafe’ around Jeannette. What followed was an almost Kafkaesque series of court proceedings and therapy sessions in which Jeannette’s ex-husband, lawyers, therapists and other individuals and institutions supposedly concerned with Sophia’s best interests worked to erode Jeannette’s most basic parenting rights. Nearly three years later, Jeannette can’t even visit with the daughter she loves. She lives less than ten minutes away, but can only communicate with Sophia by U.S. Mail. All because she insists that Sophia is a girl
.

Well this is fun stuff. I guess Canada invaded? Can anyone defend the state taking custody away from a mother because she doesn't believe her daughter is trans?
