Anxiety surges as Donald Trump may be indicted soon: Why 2024 is 'the final battle' and 'the big one'

WASHINGTON – It looks like American politics is entering a new age of anxiety, triggered by an unprecedented legal development: The potential indictment of a former president and current presidential candidate.

Donald Trump's many legal problems – and calls for protests by his followers – have generated new fears of political violence and anxiety about the unknowable impact all this will have on the already-tense 2024 presidential election

I’ll reframe this is a more accurate way, Are Presidents above the law? This new age was spurred into existence when home grown dummies elected a corrupt, mentally ill, anti-democratic, would be dictator as President and don’t bother to hold him responsible for his crimes, don’t want to because in the ensuing mayhem and destruction, they think they will be better off. The man is actually advocating violence (not the first time). And btw, screw democracy too. If this feeling spreads, we are In deep shirt.

This goes beyond one treasonous Peice of work and out to all his minions. This is on you or should we be sympathetic to the idea of they can’t help being selfish suckers to the Nation’s detriment? Donald Trump is the single largest individual threat to our democracy and it‘s all going to boil down to will the majority of the GOP return to his embrace and start slinging his excrement to support him?

Donald Trump has called for a “major investigation” into music icon Bruce Springsteen, days after the singer described the president as “incompetent” during a series of concerts in the UK.

In a post on Truth Social, the president suggested that his 2024 rival Kamala Harriscould have paid Springsteen for an “illegal campaign contribution” during the presidential election last year, without providing any evidence.

Trump also claimed that Beyonce, Oprah, and U2 frontman Bono could be investigated over their dealings with Harris, all of whom either endorsed Trump’s opponent during the election or supported the Democrats.

“HOW MUCH DID KAMALA HARRIS PAY BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN FOR HIS POOR PERFORMANCE DURING HER CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT?

“WHY DID HE ACCEPT THAT MONEY IF HE IS SUCH A FAN OF HERS? ISN’T THAT A MAJOR AND ILLEGAL CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTION? WHAT ABOUT BEYONCÉ? …AND HOW MUCH WENT TO OPRAH, AND BONO???

“I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter. Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment. In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. IT’S NOT LEGAL! For these unpatriotic “entertainers,” this was just a CORRUPT & UNLAWFUL way to capitalize on a broken system. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”

None of his claims were substantiated.…….

He's been looney tunes for a long while. People simply don't care anymore.

He’s angry because Springsteen said those things about him - so they have ginned up this story of “if you pay a performer to sing at your event that’s actually paying for an endorsement and illegal” because Trump needs to feel like he can punish anything he doesn’t like.

A lot of Trump voters did bet the farm, and they were wrong. They thought he wouldn't be any worse than his first term, and they were very wrong. His corruption has increased by an order of magnitude, and this country is in grave danger. The only hope is that enough voters wake up and vote for the Democratic opposition that has a chance to check him, but it may be too late. I'm not sure the next election will be fair. Other totalitarians have rigged their elections. I hope we can avoid that, but I'm not sure.
I guess we will see. I still have confidence in our election system.

What law makes that illegal? Pretty sure it doesn’t exist. Just more rantings from a fool.

It’s probably also an admission that he paid for celebrity endorsements.

“Lessons from History: House Incumbents from the Non-Presidential Party Rarely Lose Reelection in Midterms”

“The non-presidential party often picks up House seats in midterms, and as a part of it, that party’s incumbents rarely lose in midterms.”

History favors democratic control of at least the House or Senate.

Trump just retweeted (retruthed?) this

This is the correct answer. It works for both of our resident contrarians.

It is what allows them to vote for GOP, who will enable the worst Trump actions - his rejection of court rulings and due process, his blatant corruption that is the worst corruption we have ever seen in our chief executive, etc.

And then they can claim some sort of moral high ground. Hey - I didn’t vote for him!

No, but your votes made everything possible that is happening now. And you’re not upset about any of it. Not really.
Given that I voted for Biden and Harris and my Democratic Congressman my votes didn’t make any of this possible.

Lara Trump talked about why she believes pit bulls are the “Donald Trump of the dog world” during an episode of her Fox News show this weekend.

“Pit bulls have gotten a very bad reputation,” the former Republican National Committee co-chair told Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy in a segment marking upcoming National Rescue Dog Day. Their interview also touched on Portnoy’s adoption of a rescue pit bull named Miss Peaches and the problem of America’s overcrowded animal shelters.

“I actually call pit bulls the Donald Trump of the dog world,” the wife of Eric Trump continued. “Because they’ve been mischaracterized by the media, they’ve been demonized in so many different ways and people have an assumption about them that really isn’t true.”

Portnoy chimed in: “If you were brought up in a hostile environment and taught certain things, you may act a certain way. That’s not on the dog.”...........

Sure they are. Your inability to understand doesn't negate that.
No. Not really. We aren’t speaking of comparing felonies to misdemeanor theft. We are talking about potential corruption and conflicts of interest at the highest levels of government. The fact you can’t understand speaks volumes.

You continue to make unsupported claims, even after clear facts have been presented. Let's break it down:
  1. Hunter Biden was a successful corporate lawyer with extensive international experience.
  2. His compensation from Burisma was in line with what board members with similar credentials typically receive.
  3. There is no evidence—none—that Joe Biden acted improperly or was influenced in any way by his son’s position. Joe Biden, at the time, was delivering a policy message that was backed not just by the U.S., but also by the EU and IMF, calling for the dismissal of a widely criticized Ukrainian prosecutor.
And yet, despite having zero proof, you continue to repeat the claim that Hunter was only hired because of his last name. That’s not an argument—it’s a talking point lacking substance or factual grounding.

At some point, willful ignorance becomes dishonesty. People here see through this bothsides narrative, and it’s not convincing anyone. Facts matter—even when they’re inconvenient to your preferred storyline.
