All different ways of saying the same thing "Neither one of these people should be President"

I believe that Donald Trump is singularly bad, unfit and unqualified

What would Kamala Harris had to have done for you to say "this is exactly what I was worried about"?

IMO, he cannot answer that without facing some sort of prejudice within himself. Either he doesn’t think any Democrat is fit for office, or he thinks a woman isn’t fit for office, or he thinks a woman of color isn’t fit for office. He leaves us no other choices.

We have to draw this conclusion because of the way he has dodged the question of why is Harris unfit? He says stuff like “she wasn’t popular in 2020” which has zero bearing on being unfit for office.

At long last, we cannot conclude anything else is at play here. It gives me zero satisfaction to say that. I would actually respect the poster more if he would at least be honest with us. Instead he talks in circles, saying nothing.

They argue that Harris had three options: she could make “clean breaks” with Biden by rejecting policy positions she had endorsed as his deputy (risking accusations of hypocrisy), she could seek out entirely new issues with which to define herself and run on or, alternatively, “she could rely on voters to see her gender, her genes, and her ‘lived experience’... as symbols of change.”

However, the first of those approaches was reportedly taken “off the table” by the president and his loyalists, with Biden saying publicly that Harris must do whatever was necessary to beat Trump but telling her in private that there should be “no daylight” between them, a message stressed to Harris “almost everywhere she went” by his aides, who were seeking to safeguard his legacy.……

Even if Trump's voters don't feel as if they are racist, the result of their choices are to enable a racist demagogue to elevate to the highest position in the country. Again.

This country elected an openly racist, convicted felon who stole national secrets, incited an insurrection, was twice impeached, has been sued more than 2,000 times, is proud to have ended a woman's right to choose, has admitted to sexual predation and is liable for $80 million in damages for slander because of it, was best friends with one of the worst child sex traffickers in history, grifted off the country for four years, oversaw a pandemic response that led to a million Americans dying, had half of his cabinet abandon endorsing his second term, promises to end NATO participation [[after having many ties to Vladmir Putin, even after leaving office), will leave the Ukraine out to dry, will be even more supportive of Israel's assault against Palestine, wants to throw the world into a trade world and likely depression with the imposition of tariffs on all imported goods, will end the recyclable energy economy, grow the federal debt, and is now permitted to break laws in office with impunity.

That's not even the entire list. You can't fix stupid and we are now living in a live version of Idiocracy. And why are we here? Because you have preachers who think Trump is God's chosen vessel to save our country. Black preachers. White preachers. Catholic priests. Evangelicals. All preaching to their congregation that the man described above has been chosen to lead us to the Promised Land. Trump is not God's chosen vessel; if anything, he's God's chosen weapon.

Give him credit: He got Black folks to vote for a man who has promised to make our lives worse. He got Puerto Ricans to vote for him after refusing to disavow the comedian who described their beloved island as a "floating island of garbage". He had hispanics vote for him after inciting every vile Karen to adopt "We speak English in this country" as their motto. He inspired Christians to vote for him even though he is anti-Christian in his actions and how he conducts himself. He also brought Nazis and white supremacists into the political mainstream.

But he's not a woman. And he's not Black. So, I can see why we'd want the 78-year old man who's been displaying increasingly alarming evidence of cognitive decline and his monosyllabic slur over someone who is eloquent and has displayed a history of giving a sh*t about anyone other than herself. Wow.

Part of me hopes he does everything that he says he will do. He's going to cement the 6-3 proven-corrupt conservative majority on the Supreme Court for longer than I expect to live. But I hope he dissolves the Department of Education, NOAA, puts political loyalists at the head of the FDA, intelligence agencies, and CDC. I want him to give immunity to cops. I want him to ban IVF. I want him to crash the f*ck out of our economy. I hope Elon Musk breaks this country in two for Putin and RFK bans vaccines. I want every person who voted for the devil to feel the fires of the hell that they want to inflict on Others. I now want the world to burn like the apparent majority of my fellow Americans do.

Only, I don't want my nieces and nephews to deal with this sh*t. And I don't want women to die because they can't get medical care while they happen to be pregnant. And I don't want the weak protections against an educational divide between poor kids and privileged kids to widen. I don't want to lose my health care or see changes to Social Security now that I'm old enough to apply for it. Good Lord, how many stories of murdered LGBTQ+ children are we going to read about in the next decade? How many will kill themselves? My head is spinning.

I wonder if I'm going to be able to look into any stranger's eyes today and smile, thinking that he/she voted for this BS. Might be a while before I can. Congratulations, America: You proved that the people who demanded Barabbas be released weren't alone in how they understand questions of decency and morality.

Don't mind me. I'm just dealing with some stuff right now and this happened to be a convenient place for me to unload. Buckle up. We're in for a bumpy ride.

Donald Trump did not get more votes than he did last election. He didn’t win because more people voted for him than last time, in fact he got less votes. He won because the people in this country, the ones who would not vote for him also would not vote for a woman regardless of how qualified she is. I am just sick at how much hate there is in this country toward women and toward everyone who is not a white cisgendered christian male.

I think every country is somewhat racist, so it’s just a matter of degree. But if they are less racist, often they or are vile in other ways, such as misogynists or intolerant, because people always dislike the other. Some countries have done a better job to suppress that tendency and subset of their society. We have been making lots of progress towards that end, but have regressed recently. Harris probably lost a lot of votes due to misogyny, just like Hillary, but there are other factors, such as voter suppression, and the lack of a primary. Some people actually voted for Trump due to a belief that he was being treated unfairly. Those are the people that will cut off their nose to spite their face. So race is just another factor, but how big of a factor is speculative.
