It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

Kinda sorta related. Is this even real? I guess being a US citizen doesn't much matter anymore.

sadly it was just a matter of time until this happened

Question for @superchuck500

why wouldn't the judge have the authority to release this guy?

"He's detained because he's an unauthorized alien"

"Here is all the documents proving he was born in USA"

"Sorry nothing I can do"

Why isn't this an immediate release and someone has some very serious questions to answer?

Very powerful….”Don’t forget, History is not on your side.”

U.S.-born man held for ICE under Florida’s new anti-immigration law

What is the end game here

If it turns out this guy is dead (which not only do I thinking is the case I think it probably happened pretty soon after arriving in El Salvador)

It will an epic firestorm in the media but beyond that?

If anyone is charged with anything can Trump just pardon them?

Wouldn't Trump himself be protected by "official acts"?

There should be a massive wrongful death civil suit, but is that a possibility?

Wasn't systemshock saying earlier just have papers on you, what's the big deal?

This American born citizen has papers, showed those papers and is still sitting in a jail cell

How is this not a civil rights and basic human rights violation?
They all are. Every person they touch is having their rights violated in some fashion. Trump has set the brown shirts free and given them permission- no he has commanded them to meet his quotas and he doesn’t care how.

This is how 14 yo boys end up in a concentration camp in El Salvador with no way to contact family, no legal representation, no hope of ever being released.

It’s criminal. It’s a stain on our country far worse than when we interred Japanese Americans during WW2. We are perilously close to the territory of Mussolini, Stalin, and yes, Hitler.

CNN) — Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem is threatening to strip Harvard University of its ability to enroll international students if it doesn’t turn over records on international students’ “illegal and violent activities,” the agency said Wednesday.

Noem “wrote a scathing letter demanding detailed records on Harvard’s foreign student visa holders’ illegal and violent activities by April 30, 2025, or face immediate loss of Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) certification,” DHS said in a news release……:

I have a student that I have been working with for the past four years. I taught and coached his older brother in basketball. He is such an amazing student and human being. He has started up community outreach programs and built initiatives within the school to benefit students in need.

He is EXACTLY the type of person we want to be in leadership positions. He's brilliant and busted his arse in school.

He got into Harvard.

He has gone from elation to the depths of dismay and uncertainty. He's scared and disappointed and... I can't even capture the spectrum of emotions he has gone through.

All because one stupid, hateful, malignant narcissist only codifies hatred, ignorance, and fear.

It's crushing this kid.

A family is locked in a tense standoff with US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after agents allegedly smashed a car window and detained a man who, the family asserts, is an asylum seeker.

The incident, which took place on Monday, has raised serious questions about the agency’s procedures and targeting practices.

Juan Francisco Mendez was reportedly on his way to a dental appointment when ICE agents intercepted his vehicle. According to the family’s lawyer, Ondine Galvez-Sniffin, agents used a hammer to break the car window before apprehending Mendez and his wife. Galvez-Sniffin told The Associated Press that the agents initially claimed they were searching for a different individual, but proceeded to detain Mendez despite the apparent case of mistaken identity.

The family and their legal representation are now demanding answers from ICE regarding the aggressive tactics employed during the arrest and the justification for Mendez’s detention, particularly given his pending asylum application.

The incident, recorded on video by Mendez's wife Marilu Domingo Ortiz, shows ICE agents using a hammer to smash the car window and then grab Ortiz. The family believes Mendez is being held at a facility in Dover, New Hampshire.…….

Very happy to be wrong about him.

It was hard for me to believe the admin is being so evil about doing the right thing with him. Made me feel like they were hiding his death. So glad to be wrong, but yet this shows they are just totally evil. They are doing this to him for no reason. Just to be evil about it.

Ditto.

The fact that anyone would believe that he could be dead is the result of these lawless Republican officials. These elected Republicans are failing in their Constitutional duties to ensure that the laws of our nations are being faithfully executed.

MARRERO, La. — Immigration crackdowns are taking a toll on a family here in the Metro area.
Kremly Marrero and his partner Wendy Brito live on the Westbank with their three children.

Brito is a volunteer at McDonogh 26 Elementary, a full-time mom, and an immigrant from El Salvador.
“She came for a better life,” Kremly Marrero said. “She came to get away from vicious people.”

Marrero says Brito went to her routine ICE check-in but never came home.

“They’re calling me from the after-school program saying, hey, there’s no one to pick up the kids, and I said that’s weird,” Marrero said.

Three weeks later, the ICE Database shows Brito is detained in Brasile, Louisiana.

“Where’s mom? Why is mom in jail?” Marrero says his children ask him.

He says he’s wondering, too. Marrero says Brito had applied for asylum, attended her bi-annual ICE appointments, and planned to pursue the path to citizenship.

“They just said due to the new regulations under the new administration, this is what it is,” Marrero said.

We reached out to ICE to inquire about Ms. Brito’s arrest and others like hers.

They responded, “Because of our operational tempo with routine, daily law enforcement operations, and increased interest in all our mission sets, we aren’t able to research and confirm or deny many specific cases.”……

Keep in mind- this "drip drip" of happenings is ONLY because ICE budget is $9B

The new spending bill in Congress increases that to $150-175BILLION. Once that happens, i fear you wont be able to keep up with the amount of stories/detentions taking place on a daily basis.
