It’s so repulsive to see people cheering for what is basically 80% the same thing as the Holocaust - different end result but otherwise very similar.

Economists have said it would tank the economy and cause inflation - notwithstanding the cost.

Is it going to actually happen or is this Build The Wall 2.0?

A woman has lost her job after writing on a receipt, “I hope Trump Deports you”, after dining at a Mexican restaurant.

In US president Donald Trump’s initial weeks in office, he ordered mass deportations of undocumented migrants, and it seems some are using it to hassle people in their place of work.

On 2 March, real estate agent Stephanie Lovins had a meal at Cazuelas Mexican Cantina in Columbus, Ohio. But, when the bill arrived at the end, rather than leave a tip, Lovins instead wrote a nasty message on the receipt for the waiter who had been serving her – a US citizen – after she reportedly grew upset about the restaurant’s “one coupon per table” policy.

She wrote, “I hope Trump deports you!!!” and also added in the tip section: “Zero, You blow.”

Lovins attempted to disguise that it was her by scribbling out her name on the receipt, but it was still visible on the merchant copy, which was posted by a restaurant employee on Facebook, with the caption: “Yall hate us but love our food. Shame on you, Stephanie, for not saying it with your chest.”

When the post went viral, Lovins tried to deny any involvement, claiming on LinkedIn and Facebook that her card had been stolen.

“My credit card was lost/stolen, and someone attempted to use it. Thanks for the notifications! This has been reported through my bank,” she claimed on Facebook.

Lovins said on LinkedIn: “Thank you for all the recent notifications of scammers and profile hackers! I recently discovered a lost/missing credit card and an attempted use/purchase. I appreciate your patience while I manage the situation.”

Her claims, however, were revealed to be false after the restaurant reviewed its CCTV footage and confirmed that it was she who had dined there............

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem suggested on Sunday that children brought to the country illegally by their parents “have a choice” in the matter.

In a discussion about detaining undocumented families, CBS host Margaret Brennan asked if Noem was comfortable with children being locked up in detention centers along with their parents—a policy the Trump administration revived after taking office.

“Remember, everybody has an option,” Noem said on Face the Nation. “They have an option to be here legally or illegally, and they can self-deport as well.”

“The kids don’t really have a choice in this,” Brennan interjected before she was cut off.

“Well, the kids do have a choice," Noem said. “If they have parents, they make a choice to keep their families together, if they want to or not.”

Brennan appeared puzzled at Noem’s suggestion that children choose to “keep their families together” or do otherwise.

Noem appeared to backtrack, shifting the responsibility back onto parents.

“If parents make a decision to leave their children behind, then that’s a choice that they made as a family,” she added..............

This is the same person who is now giving polygraphs to DHS employees.

She loves to shoot animals. Not hunting, just shooting them. Why should we be surprised this idiot is the way she is?

    the ADL approves of this.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a group that describes its focus as fighting antisemitism and all forms of hate, also said on Sunday that they “appreciate the Trump administration’s broad, bold set of efforts to counter campus antisemitism” and said that Khalil’s arrest “further illustrates that resolve by holding alleged perpetrators responsible for their actions”.

First they came for the Communists

Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews

    Then they came for me
And there was no one left
    To speak out for me

A Virginia man who was detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents despite being an American citizen says he is reconsidering his support for Donald Trump in his triumphant 2024 presidential election campaign.

Jensy Machado, a naturalized US citizen, said he was in a car when he was stopped by Ice agents while on his way to work in Manassas, Virginia, where a large-scale immigration enforcement operation was recently taking place after Trump took office for a second time in January following repeated campaign promises of mass deportations.

“They just got out of the car with the guns in their hands and say: ‘Turn off the car, give me the keys, open the window,’ you know. Everything was really fast,” the 38-year-old Machado told the news stations Telemundo 44 and NBC 4 Washington.

Machado was driving to work with two other men when Ice suddenly stopped him near his home. Agents brandishing guns surrounded his truck.

“I was a Trump supporter,” he said on Wednesday. “I voted for Trump last election, but, because I thought it was going to be like ... against criminals, not every Hispanic, Spanish-lookalike.”

According to Machado, the agents told him the name of a man who had a deportation order and had given Machado’s home address. He responded by telling the agents that man’s name wasn’t his – and offered to show them his Virginia driver’s license.

But he says that the agents did not ask to see his ID. Instead, they ordered him to leave his car, and they placed handcuffs on him. An agent then asked Machado how he got into the country.

“And I told him I was an American citizen,” Machado said. “He looked at his other partner like, you know, smiling, like saying, ‘Can you believe this guy?’”

The two men with Machado were taken into custody, but he doesn’t know why. He was released after eventually being able to show his driver’s license.

Though Machado described himself as a supporter of the president, he said his faith in Trump’s administration has diminished following his being detained.

“They will assume that we are all illegals,” he said. “They’re just following Hispanic people.”……

The Trump administration appears to have deleted a Justice Department web page describing a study that concluded undocumented immigrants in Texas commit notably less crime than U.S. citizens, a finding that contradicts the White House’s frequent descriptions of such migrants as violent criminals.

“Sometime in the last week, the DOJ removed this from its website,” immigration expert David Bier of the Cato Institute wrote on X. “Wonder why?”

The Independent has contacted the Department of Justice for comment.

The National Institute of Justice web page, titled, “Undocumented Immigrant Offending Rate Lower Than U.S.-Born Citizen Rate,” described a study the institute funded in Texas, scrutinizing crime data between 2012 and 2018.

The study, preserved elsewhere in House of Representatives records, found that undocumented people were arrested at half the rate of native-born citizens for violent and drug crimes, and a quarter the rate for property crimes.

It also noted that the undocumented had the lowest offending rates overall for felony and violent felony crime in the border state.

“There is no evidence that the prevalence of undocumented immigrant crime has grown for any category,” the authors wrote.

The finding supports the general research consensus that immigrants commit less crime than U.S. citizens, though attempts at studying this population are confounded by states that don’t note immigration status in arrests.

The Trump administration frequently describes unauthorized migrants as violent, dangerous criminals.

A recent White House statement on Trump’s planned mass deportations notes that the number of “illegal immigrants removed from the country has topped 50,000 as the Trump Administration continues getting illegal immigrant killers, rapists, and drug dealers off our streets.”………

Quote from the article: "This is what is important: It does not matter if you approve of Khalil’s views. It does not matter if you support the Israelis or the Palestinians. It does not matter if you are a liberal or a conservative. It does not even matter if you voted for Trump or Kamala Harris. If the state can deprive an individual of his freedom just because of his politics, which is what appears to have happened here, then no one is safe. You may believe that Khalil does not deserve free speech or due process. But if he does not have them, then neither do you. Neither do I."
