Man that must be some amazing meds? sounds like something alex jones would sell out of the back of his wagon.
Wait, when a girl takes puberty blockers to help her identify as a boy, are you telling me she doesn't become a boy? Or vise versa for a boy identifying as a girl. The gender affirming meds don't turn them into a girl? Are you sure?

There’s an entire thread about this topic. Don’t derail this one with your fake concern.

Jesus this is a cluster**** of ignorance. puberty blockers block puberty they have been used for many years to keep kids from experiencing puberty early that's all they do. gender affirming meds are just hormones they do not convert someone's sex. and if you stop you go back to what you were.

Women, eh? They’re simply not to be trusted. Eve ate that apple; Pandora opened that horrible little box; and now women are to blame for the devastating wildfires in California.

I know that sounds like a ridiculous thing to say, but it’s what Elon Musk, one of the brightest minds of his generation – and one of the most powerful people on Earth – is saying, so it must be true.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, another of the world’s greatest thinkers, factchecking is now passé. Still, I’m going to be terribly old-fashioned and factcheck myself here.

Obviously, I’m being facetious when I say that Musk is blaming the wildfires on women.

Obviously, it’s more complicated than that. To be more precise, the tech billionaire is also blaming the catastrophe – which has left at least 11 people dead and destroyed more than 10,000 structures – on minorities, diversity initiatives and various other scapegoats. Everything but the climate crisis, basically.

On Wednesday, for example, Musk took some time out from obsessively tweeting about whether the US should “liberate” Britain to proclaim that the Los Angeles fire department (LAFD) “prioritized DEI over saving lives and homes”. He has continued to post spurious claims about diversity initiatives (for example, “DEI means people DIE”) for days now, along with posts insinuating that if LAFD’s fire chief weren’t a woman, then things would be very different.

Musk is not the only one trying to link wildfires to “wokeness”: all the usual suspects are at it. Donald Trump Jr has also been busy making uninspired jokes about DEI meaning DIE. The rightwing actor James Woods and former Fox News host Megyn Kelly have railed about the fire department promoting diversity. Even CNN commentator Scott Jennings blamed the wildfires on DEI policies.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that the Maga crowd have blamed DEI initiatives for a tragedy.

Around this time last year, they were all busy claiming that Boeing planes were falling apart because of DEI initiatives.

Musk even amplified a staggeringly racist tweet suggesting students at historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) have lower IQs and therefore shouldn’t become pilots. “It will take an airplane crashing and killing hundreds of people for them to change this crazy policy of DIE,” he said at the time.

Rightwing agitators, who never let a good crisis go to waste, also used the assassination attempt of Donald Trump last July as an opportunity to criticize DEI efforts at the Secret Service. “There should not be any women in the Secret Service.

These are supposed to be the very best, and none of the very best at this job are women,” the conservative political commentator Matt Walsh posted after the assassination attempt…….

This is a classic totalitarian tactic for handling crises: find someone to blame—someone who looks different, belongs to another gender, has a different skin color, or lives their life differently. It’s a distraction designed to shift attention away from the real issues. No one asks the hard questions about why the so-called leaders of this country continue to ignore the urgency of climate change, why corporations like Boeing aren't held accountable for lax safety procedures, or even why Trump’s security team abandoned standard protocols during an assassination attempt just so he could stage a photo op. The goal is simple: deflect accountability and keep the focus on manufactured scapegoats.

Just to be clear, are you saying that if you are born a male, despite medicine or surgeries, you really are a male? Interesting if that is what you are advocating.

Do you agree with the mayor with the firing of the fire chief?

We can blame climate change and that may be a factor, but we hire politicians and appoint leaders to manage crisis, no? Does leadership not impact the way these things are handled?

She wasn’t fired, so let’s try that argument again.
And why should she be fired? She’s not the one responsible for deciding environmental policies—her job is to mitigate the consequences of those decisions.
She didn’t cause the drought, she certainly didn’t destroy the firefighting drone dropping water on the fires, and she wasn’t one of the arsonists who made the situation worse.
If she were a man, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. Your bias is showing.

Wow, I missed the retraction. I am happy she wasn't fired. The chief was the one talking about the budget cuts making it impossible for her crews to work. I am not qualified to determine who is at fault. I am strictly looking at the way the mayor is being categorized by her own people. I am pretty sure that Newsome is receiving the same criticism. Are you saying he no longer identifies as a man? In fairness, I have never seen his pronoun sig.

Why bring gender into this? Gender has absolutely nothing to do with the fires in California, so let’s keep the focus on the actual issue. If you want to discuss gender-related topics, we can address those in another thread. For now, let’s stick to the facts about the fires and their causes.

Ma'am you the last thing you said was "If she were a man, we wouldn’t even be having this conversation". I responded to you.

That was a comment on Musk claim on the last page. You however keep going back to gender repeatedly in this thread - even joking about Newsome not being a man...
