Lost in all the news coverage about what's going on in the US right now is this bit of information.

The Ukrainian government has completed an audit of thousands of case files related to Burisma. Ruslan Ryaboshapka (the prosecutor general), described by Zelenskiy as "100 percent my person" in the July phone call with president Trump said "I specifically asked prosecutors to check especially carefully those facts about Biden's alleged involvement. They answered that there was nothing of the kind."

Not that anyone SHOULD be surprised to find out that Hunter Biden was not implicated in something that was done by the CEO of Burisma in his role as a government employee, that happened two years before Biden joined the board.

You are the one that said the Hunter laptop was just a creation of Rudy and Bannon. It's harassment? Oh please. You can quit the act.
You were talking about the charges. None of the charges concern anything that is on the laptop. They concern taxes, which were all paid up over a year ago.

Much of the contents that the NY Post published did come from Bannon and Rudy.

We will see when and if Hunter’s lawsuit gets to the discovery phase.

Oh, and it’s not an act. You are consistently misquoting and mischaracterizing what I have posted. I have been asking you to stop and you refuse. It is bordering on harassment. I stand by that.

The Jan. 6 committee had a procedure that they were following in order to not contaminate the testimony of other witnesses. They established that procedure and followed it.

Comer doesn’t have such a procedure and has had open testimony from other witnesses. Why not let Hunter testify in public?

Hunter Biden has as much to do with this presidency as Billy Beer had to do with the Carter presidency.

I know the recent charges against Hunter included paying for hookers. I wonder if this was one of them. And guess what. It was from the laptop

Oh give me a break. You are embarrassing yourself with such obviously silly accusations.

No matter what you are shown that contradicts your claims you always have some weak excuse.

They established a procedure for the January 6th committee? What was that based on? If Hunter follows the same steps as the January 6th committee it's somehow bad now?

No they don’t. Show me where he is charged for that.

They were operating in an investigative mode and wanted to finish all the interviews before making any of them public in the same way that prosecutors won’t allow different witnesses to hear other witnesses’ testimony before they give their own testimony. They established their procedures at the beginning of their investigation and as far as I know they adhered to them. Everything was made public when they were finished. It’s still available to this day.

Comer has already had public hearings for some witnesses, but yet he won’t allow Hunter to testify publicly. It wouldn’t be a problem if he was consistent but he’s not. He’s just flailing around.

Why would Hunter's testimony to this committee need to follow the procedures by a completely different committee? Why can't he follow the procedures of the committee he is actually testifying in front of, a committee that has previously allowed public testimony?

No they don’t. Show me where he is charged for that.
"The Defendant engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019," the indictment read.

It added that he had instead spent huge sums "on drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature" including over $70,000 on drug rehabilitation.

Oh okay. So they had closed hearings and then public hearings. Same thing will happen with Hunter despite your word salad to try to claim it should be different now.

Can you point to any of your previous posts where you complained about Schiff having closed depositions during Russiagate and blocking the release of the transcripts for 2 years?

He was NOT charged with soliciting prostitution or anything else but tax evasion. The indictment mentioning what he supposedly spent money on is totally irrelevant. So you are incorrect in saying the charges include paying for prostitutes. From your article: please actually read the articles you post.

“Hunter Biden, 53, was hit with three felony and six misdemeanor tax offenses, according to an indictment filed in U.S. District Court, Central District of California.”

The rest of your post doesn’t address anything I actually pointed out, and throws in some irrelevant whataboutism. Comer has already had public hearings. He should be consistent, that is all I said. He is flailing. He doesn’t know what he’s doing.

That's not a line, it's a fact. The thing the right has to understand is that just because Trump is the biggest crook to ever sit in the Oval Office doesn't mean Biden is also a crook.
The people in GOP leadership know Biden isn’t a crook. That’s what makes this so bad. They know better. They’re just willing to do or say anything to get a political advantage.

You are the one that said the Hunter laptop was just a creation of Rudy and Bannon. It's harassment? Oh please. You can quit the act.

It's normal procedure, but you knew that already.

Do you understand the difference between two committees establishing and then following their own rules? Do you understand the difference between a congressional hearing and a deposition?

Hunter Biden struggled with addiction and made some regrettable decisions during that period of his life. He shouldn't be shielded from consequences. It also seems he's yet another who reaped some benefits in a system that rewards legacy and nepotism. Anybody who is outraged about him while ignoring the entire Trump family, blood and extended, can't be taken seriously.

Joe Biden lost a wife and daughter in an accident and later, a son to brain cancer. That he has supported and helped Hunter is no surprise, except, it seems, to people who think the Trumps are an example of what a family should be.

This sham that Republicans are engaged in, if you haven't figure it out yet, is what an actual witch-hunt looks like. Call it what it is.

The GOP rep I saw on a clip from TV could not even articulate a crime or misdemeanor that they suspect Biden of. They have nothing to base this inquiry on. It’s as nakedly political as it can get. It’s all because Trump was impeached twice for cause, and they want to be able to blunt that for Trump’s campaign. They are being toadies to Trump and they don’t mind everyone knowing it.

James Comer saying the quiet parts out loud ;) :

"This has been the most transparent political— uh, uh, uh... congressional investigation since I've been in congress for seven years."

SFL: explain what you think is significant about leaving out that word, which as far as we know was a simple oversight. Can you explain this at all?

EDIT: once again, SFL, you are wasting our time. Hans is linking us to an archived page, not the actual article. The quote was already corrected. This was a simple error that was caught and corrected. Hans is being disingenuous here by suggesting it was deliberate, with no proof of that.

Even so, since you seemed to think leaving out the word “financially” from that quote makes some sort of significant difference in this case, can you explain to us why you think that is?
