Sure. That something occurred in the past or occurred for even eons doesn’t make it right. It might make it accepted but that is not the same thing as right. The prime example is slavery.

As for gender, well, your obstinance is interesting both in its fear basis and in the fact that it is really none of your business. Change is hard but you’ll get though it.

I would love to know the careers of each of those guys in that photo. Imagine learning physics from the guy who made the biggest impact in Physics. It would be like sitting in a lecture about geometry being given by Pythagoras.

That slavery is still happening does not make it acceptable. It happened for millennia and then be came unacceptable. Whether or not it occurs in western society as a wholesale, legal process is irrelevant. Ever see posters warning to be on the lookout for signs of sex trafficking? What would you call sex trafficking? And, yup, it is going on in the west. Regarding gender, no, it is not your business. Your belief structure, feelings are irrelevant regarding how someone else views themselves or chooses to refer to themsrelves unless it damages you. It does you no damage therefore your belief structure, feelings are irrelevant. Don’t worry, you’ll get over it. Btw, what will you do when a transgender person shows up in your family? Will you ridicule them? Refuse to call them by the name/pronoun they wish?

It's still happening in this country. In this state, even. Just because they don't call it slavery doesn't mean it ceases to be slavery.

Were you not saying earlier that slavery is based on racism and only white people are racist because they dehumanize other races?

It is exactly my business when someone demands me to address them as something that does not make sense. If I asked to be addressed as the Duke of Wellington by your logic, everyone should go along since that is how I perceive myself and that is the most important thing.

I would encourage them to seek professional help, not play along. If I had a family member show up and say that he was a cat, I would not play along, I would have them seek help immediately. Sometimes people are just crazy and need mental help.

I think they are close enough, yes. Prisoners are put to work, most of the time with no pay, and their labor is exploited by the people in charge. Hell, it's legally enshrined in the US Constitution.

Forced labor is precisely what slavery is. Forced labor in prison is no different. It is a completely "captive" labor pool with no recourse to relief. That it is punishment is irrelevant.
