Also I'm only just now catching up on this morning's Trump campaign "Four Seasons Total Landscaping" press conference next to the adult bookstore in Philly. I don't think any comedy writer could come up with something funnier than that.
    Were are you seeing that?

Anyone who loves America , and democracy, should rightfully be celebrating right now.. And here is what I think will happen, you can save thiis post for posterity if you want… Joe will turn 80 years old two years from now, I think at that point he hands it off to Kamala… I preferred her in the general election anyway, she’s a freaking pitbull and a former prosecutor (good luck painting her as Far Left! But of course they will try).. Then I think in 2024, we will have the Kamala/Mayor Pete for President ticket... Kamala , the law & order prosecutor, and Pete the young ex-Navy guy.. It’ll be fun to watch the fireworks!

I don't think Joe has any plans to resign early. I think as long as he's capable he will be president. My dad is 81 and if he was surrounded by expert advisors and aides, he could handle the rigors of being president.

Trump won a higher percentage of Republican votes than he did in 2016. John Kasich, the Lincoln Project grift crew and the entire Republican Party aren't owed a damn thing.
And conversely, several progressive, incumbent House Democrats who's re-elections were safe ran door knocking operations to get out the vote for Biden and were critical to his winning in swing states, so all this "progressives hurt Biden" talk is very short sighted and doesn't grasp the big picture.
    On these topics:

    1) It's hard to tell how much effect the Lincoln Project had although I'll agree that it wasn't overwhelmingly significant. Although Trump won a higher percentage of Republicans that could just mean he got more Republicans to register that otherwise didn't vote in 2016 (which isn't too surprising when you consider the next crop of voters turning 18 have been spoon fed on Charlie Kirk, Andy Ngo, and Ben Shapiro). I'm sure they helped sway a decent amount of Republicans and/or Independents. Their attack ads were effective and allowed Biden to stay positive while they handled the dirty work.

    2) In terms of progressives and where this country stands, I don't think anyone can look at the map of the last two Presidential Elections and say that America is anything more than a centrist country -- and that's a qualified 'centrist' because it's probably like two-thirds competing extremes with the other third more moderate (I laughed at the WSJ columnist who said this was a center-right country, the reality of the election results betray that easily). Do progressives hurt the DNC? It depends on what issues they are progressive on. Most people in the country seem to favor some form of government-affiliated healthcare program. Most people are in favor of government spending on infrastructure. Basically, progressive on fiscal issues. However, it is clear to me that nearly half of this country is not progressive on social issues. DNC stances on gun regulation, immigration, etc. need to be reconsidered. So, overall, you have this weird melange of a fiscally progressive but socially moderate platform with a high sensitivity to key issues (gun rights, etc.) that Republicans tend to emphasize.

Oh... I'll also add that reading AOC's tweets the last few days... yes... she is an aggregate negative to the image of the DNC. We don't need these cult of personality politicians.

The above tweet is particularly laughable considering the hundreds of millions of dollars the DNC flushed down the toilet in Kentucky, South Carolina, etc. Money that could have been used more effectively in Alaska and Montana and, perhaps, Iowa.

Here's a radical thought - maybe he could actually do his job over the next few months? After all, there's still a pandemic growing increasingly out of control.
And spreading throughout the White House. Again.

But, you have to start somewhere. Who would’ve thought Georgia would go democrat? Potentially going with two democratic senators? That was huge. While Kentucky and South Carolina didn’t flip, let’s see where this leads in 2 years. 4 years.

You may very well be right, to me Joe was a far more appealing candidate 8 or 12 years ago, this year he seemed to have lost a step physically and mentally , which is one reason i preferred other candidates early on.. To be clear though, he’s still light years ahead of Trump, to be sure.. but if he serves out his full term, i still think we see a Kamala/Pete ticket in 2024.. unless the powers that be get skittish about a “black lady/gay guy” ticket and find a different white guy to run with her.. Somehow i think those labels will mean even less in 2024 though, than they mean even today.

If disagree with a lot of what you said that is disagreed on. Things just need to be framed right. Take immigration. Sure maybe trails of Central Americans is hard to get to the overall public, although I have stories that will make you sit and think. However, the majority do agree with DACA and other provisions. So, it comes down to a lot how it’s presented.

Well I have to give them major props by being entertaining as hell.

I would think the more republicans voting has to do exactly with the same reasons more of everyone voted. This was a huge election.

I would say they had an impact but very hard to measure.

But God they make great short videos!

The 2020 map certainly shows that states like Georgia, North Carolina and even Florida or Texas are in play with the right messaging and outreach. Kentucky and South Carolina will never be in play be it four years from now or forty years from now. This aligns with conventional wisdom re: demographics. You can see a lot of younger/liberal voters moving to places like the Atlanta suburbs, North Carolina, Florida, and Texas (especially Texas). Kentucky and South Carolina (nothing against those states) are not really hotbeds for immigration from progressives/liberals.

    I did... :melike:

I keep hearing /seeing all this talk about how, if Trump wanted to, he could be ‘gracious’ and invite Biden to a meeting in the Oval Office pre-inauguration like every other President has done... I dont think Trump’ll do that, but even if he does- there’s no way i accept, if I’m Biden.. Why? First of all, the White House is ABSOLUTELY CRAWLING with Coronavirus and probably will be for the next couple months.. theY are going to need to fumigate that place like a mug after the inauguration.. But also, i would absolutely fear for Biden’s SAFETY in a still-Trump-occupied White House.. just let Donald get escorted out by the Secret Service, then do your thing Joe.
