I think it might be helpful to have a separate thread for this in the coming weeks and months.

The four prosecutors who withdrew from the Stone case seem to have called attention to the DOJ and Bill Barr’s heavy hand in nearly every aspect of the department.

Justin Amash has some eye opening quotes he is attributing to Bill Barr in this Twitter thread. It’s not very comforting to someone who values their rights.

I would be interested in legal takes on Barr’s insisting that all investigations into any campaign must go to him before any information is even gathered. As well as Barr setting up some sort of “channel” where Rudy can funnel his highly suspect “findings” from Ukraine directly to Barr. When we have such a political AG as Barr, this takes the appearance of impropriety.

Sigh. You need to get real, SFL. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, on here has acknowledged the facts of the Mueller results. What we don’t do is subscribe to the notion that Trump did nothing wrong as far as his campaign. This weird idea, being pushed by Trump and his sycophants, that if he didn’t actively conspire with Russia then he was just some innocent victim, is nothing more than more gaslighting. And you guys just eat that up because it supports your narrative.

But you keep putting up that straw man, SFL. Meanwhile from what little I heard today, which was just in passing, is that Trump is now threatening the State of New York with federal actions unless they drop all their investigations of his Trump organization among other demands. That seem right to you?

This is the sort of drive by snark that adds absolutely nothing to the conversation.

Your post was based in fantasy rather than fact. That was worth pointing out, but not spending a great deal of time on.

Well I guess you are so familiar with fantasy now that you think you see it everywhere.

Buthat’s not what you did. You didn’t even do that in this post.

If you think it’s fantasy, you should explain why.

But you won’t. You will say it is self evident, which totally undermines your claim that you felt obligated to point it out.

I'll wait to get upset when Trump actually does something instead of just saying something.

How about from the IG report or the DOJ saying 2 of the carter page FISA warrants are invalid or illegal? Nothing to see right? Just some carelessness?

Do you always just throw everything at the fan? :idunno:

Not that it has anything to do with my comment, but the FBI shouldn't have continued surveillance or Page after the first tap didn't yield any useful information. They need to clean some things up with the FISA process, obviously. I highly doubt this the only case with FISA abuse out there, but I have no doubt that it's the most scrutinized case ever. Not a surprised at all to find irregularities with that much scrutiny, it was rather predictable. Lessons will and should be learned. as I doubt the FISA process is going anywhere.

    There is no deep state!

And then Trump is surprisingly acquiescent to Barr’s remarks criticizing Trump. It’s all so fake, so easily seen through.

    Not by everyone, apparently.

That said, I'm not sure the timing of the tweet versus Barr's actions really mean anything, if Barr was already following direction from Trump. In that case, the tweet put Barr in the "impossible" position of not being able to follow Trump's orders in secret.

Like, for example, holding foreign aid hostage in exchange for an announcement of an investigation into a political opponent?

He didn’t do that, but he has the right to if he wants to...

Well, he may have done it, but the house didn’t prove it, besides it’s not impeachable...

Yea he did it, so what? He can do whatever he wants...

They are past the point of reason.

    Two tweets worth reading:

He doesn't mention anything at all about the questionable enhancement that took the sentencing recommendation from 3 to 4 years to 7 to 9 years. Are you familiar with the enhancement that is in question? I posted about it here:

The story in the post you quoted misrepresents the text Stone sent to Credico.

“prepare to die corksoaker”, left out the first part.

“You are a rat. A stoolie. You backstab your friends-run your mouth my lawyers are dying Rip you to shreds”. “I am so ready. Let’s get it on. Prepare to die [expletive].”

That was the threat. And it was a threat.

Well if techno fog and undercover Huber tell me something is deep state, then it must be.
What is techno fog’s thoughts on on QAnon?

Oh and there is this (from a real news site):

So is McCabe deep state or not? I am so confused who the deep state is. It changes all the time
