    Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.



    Houthi leader issued this statement- no US ships in Red Sea


    Houthis then attempted to strike US Carrier group

    This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



    So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

    So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

    It's good to talk about policy and "the point". Thank you. I am old enough to remember the American hostages in Iran during the later portion of the Carter presidency. Back then and until this day this Iranian regime has been a thorn in America's side. If this President or any of his predecessors hint or more than hint that the people of Iran should remove the Supreme Leader that WOULD be ok with me.

    Lol its been almost 50 years of "Death to America" ...we still around. Please that's a weak argument.

    I dont admire nor support Khameni. But that's for Iranians to sort out.

    We just stuck our nose into a hornets nest and we will get stung. And when we do, will you look at the actions we just took and the call for regime change Trump posted as the reason or revert back to the "but they chant Death to America"?

    For every action there is an opposite an equal reaction. Any loss of life, be it military or civilian, will be squarely on this Administration.

    But hey you support military action where its not called for. Quite cavalier with others lives ...so long as it ain't yours, right?

    And full disclosure, I served from 1989 thru 1997.
     
    Iran has been an imminent threat for over 40 years! They are sooo volatile that Israel has been able to do whatever they want within Iranian space. Iran is just a Boogeyman. We were able fly uncontested sorties with our 30yr old 4th Gen A/C and took what we want without a shot fired.

    Talk about punching down.

    Operation Ajax in 1953 was the biggest reason for the uprising in 79 that disposed the Shah. The U.S. is not
    totally innocent.

    It's really just an extension of the Oct. 7th war. Iran funds Hamas. This is Israel striking at the adversarial regional power.

    All the talk about Nukes is transparent BS.

    Iran is not the good guys.

    The world won't end with a nuclear Iran, which is going to happen now.

    American removing the leader of Iran is exactly what lead to Iran being a thorn in America's side and here you are being okay with doubling down on that failed policy.

    I suspect Russian and Chinese intelligence has been working with Iran since Israel started it's war on Iran.
