Being former Military and having trained with and having been on security details... I have no idea how 2 counter teams with spotters less than 200 yards away didn't glass this guy and take him out prior to him getting off shots... especially when people on the ground and LEOs clearly spotted him prior to shots fired. It's gross negligence / failure of protocol...

That was from several years ago but it’s a reminder of how engrained it is on that side and among their prominent figures.

There can’t be a toning down of rhetoric until they quit engaging in the worst of it and quit condoning or ignoring it among their ranks.

They won’t, though, and they aren’t having a serious conversation about it now. It’s just empty words of fealty for their almost fallen icon.

We weren't there and aren't privy to the communications in real time. But that confirmation has to go through official channels and LEOs are responsible for securing the area where the shooter was at. The shooter was in a prone position and likely not easily visible to the snipers from his position. It's likely they didn't actually spot him until he opened fire.

In one of the videos, it looks like the sniper up on his knees on the rooftop spotted the kid right before the kid started shooting. It looks the sniper started shooting at the kid right as the kid first started shooting. That's probably why the kid didn't get many shots off. If the sniper sees him a second sooner, then probably the only shots fired are the snipers.

The sniper looked like he hesitated for a split second after seeing the kid. That was probably the friend or foe assessment period. They can't just shoot as soon as they see someone.
