I was looking for a place to put this so we could discuss but didn't really find a place that worked so I created this thread so we can all place articles, experiences, videos and examples of racism in the USA.

This is one that happened this week. The lady even called and filed a complaint on the officer. This officer also chose to wear the body cam (apparently, LA doesn't require this yet). This exchange wasn't necessarily racist IMO until she started with the "mexican racist...you will never be white, like you want" garbage. That is when it turned racist IMO

All the murderer and other insults, I think are just a by product of CRT and ACAB rhetoric that is very common on the radical left and sadly is being brought to mainstream in this country.

Another point that I think is worth mentioning is she is a teacher and the sense of entitlement she feels is mind blowing.

Well, when I wrote that you had said that you only felt sympathy for the officer because he had to shoot the guy. I’m glad to see you have backed off from that position.
I do have sympathy for the officer. I also have sympathy for the suspects family and friends. The suspect made a terrible decision and those are the consequences of his actions. It is sad all the way around and completely avoidable.

What happened to make someone pin me to the ground to begin with?
    100% irrelevant

You are pinned on the ground, you are subdued, you are no longer a threat, of danger or of flight

It doesn't matter if you just stole something, molested someone or beat someone to death

You're pinned and are shot in the back of the head, that's an execution

It is irrelevant if I have a weapon or not?
Did you watch the video we are discussing, because he was not subdued, but that is irrelevant, right?

It seems you are more concerned where the bullet entered the suspect. Would have been better if the suspect was facing the officer with the taser he just wrestled away from him?

The fact that you think there is a situation where it's acceptable to shoot a person in the head when you have them pinned to the ground on their stomach speaks volumes here, Farb.

Did the suspect have control of the tazer?

I did. Instead of using both hands to keep him down, he drew his gun and shot him in the back of the head. The altercation started, by the way, when the suspect was slowly walking- not running- and the cop aggressively put his hands on him.

If you want to support the police demand that they do a better job under circumstances like this. You're like someone in Russia claiming that their Army couldn't fight the war in Ukraine any other way. That wouldn't be supporting the Russian Army.

What does it say about me?

So what is the moral the story? Don't walk away from a officer when he is conducting a lawful investigation.

You know what else is a big no no? Wrestling with the cop for his weapon.

The guy didn't need to die, but he made that decision.

Is resisting arrest, assault, or fleeing the scene of a crime punishable by death in our justice system?

You still don't get it. If you can't handle a suspect who walks/runs away after being pulled over, without killing him, you shouldn't be a cop.

    You're supporting failure.

Yeah, there are too many cops who seem to be not well trained or who have poor decision making skills. There's really no reason this should have resulted in the victim getting shot. The guy never actually attacked the cop and was more trying to get out of the situation than anything else.

Individuals who accept human evolution tend to exhibit reduced levels of prejudice compared to those who reject the scientific theory, according to new research published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. The study indicates that disbelief in evolution predicts racism and prejudice around the world and in various cultural contexts.......

To examine the relationship between the acceptance of evolution and prejudicial attitudes, the researchers first analyzed very large sets of data collected by the General Social Survey and Pew Research Center.

For 10 years, the General Social Survey, a nationally representative survey of U.S. citizens, included measures of the belief that humans developed from earlier species of animals. An analysis of responses from 8,963 participants found that the belief that humans evolved from animals was associated with reduced prejudice, less racist attitudes and reduced support for discriminatory behaviors. This was true even after controlling for education level, religiosity, political beliefs, family income, and gender.

The researchers also analyzed Pew Research Center data from 21,827 Christian individuals in 19 Eastern European countries. Pew asked the participants whether “Humans and other living things have evolved over time” or “Humans and other living things have existed in their present form since the beginning of time.” After controlling for education, importance of religion, age, and gender, the researchers found that those who denied that humans had evolved tended to exhibit reduced acceptance of outgroups, such as Roma and Catholics..........
