This election nonsense by Trump may end up splitting up the Republican Party. I just don’t see how the one third (?) who are principled conservatives can stay in the same party with Trump sycophants who are willing to sign onto the TX Supreme Court case.

We also saw the alt right types chanting “destroy the GOP” in Washington today because they didn’t keep Trump in power. I think the Q types will also hold the same ill will toward the traditional Republican Party. In fact its quite possible that all the voters who are really in a Trump personality cult will also blame the GOP for his loss. It’s only a matter of time IMO before Trump himself gets around to blaming the GOP.

There is some discussion of this on Twitter. What do you all think?

Gosar just might be mentally ill.

    here is an update:

The House voted Wednesday to censure Rep. Paul Gosar after the Arizona Republican posted a violent cartoon video that depicted him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and attacking President Biden.

The resolution passed 223-207, with just two Republicans — Reps. Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger — joining all 221 Democrats voting in favor of Gosar’s censure. Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Ohio, who sits on the House Ethics Committee, voted “present.” Three Republicans did not vote.

The measure stripped Gosar of his committee assignments, including a seat on the House Oversight Committee, a panel on which he had served alongside Ocasio-Cortez.

The part we don’t want to talk about is that Gosart and MTG are both going to win re-election in a landslide.

They aren’t the problem, the people who vote for them are the problem, but discussing that is too divisive.

Radicalization has us in a Chinese finger trap. We are all the moderate Muslims we blamed for not preventing 911.

Based on the latest polls 2022 is going to be a bloodbath for the Democrats. Everyone needs to be prepared for False Equivalence Fridays because you're going to see a lot of Dems getting hit with BS censure motions and loss of committee assignments. You're also likely to see Biden impeached at least three times because, reasons.

I wish we could just hit the "complete collapse of the government" part of the movie so we can structure something that makes more sense.

Those are really powerful comments by AOC. Well done. She is much more effective at shaming the GQP than just about any Democrat in Congress.

Pelosi should hold a vote on the House floor every single day from now until Nov 2022 to remove Gosar from Congress. Force all of the Nazi Republicans in Congress to defend Gosar on the House floor every single day. Show the American public every single day how evil the Trump Cult Republican Party has become.

It's time for the Democrats to start playing hardball if they want to save democracy, because it will all be over in Nov 2022 if they don't get much tougher than they have been so far.

This is why gerrymandering is a death sentence for this country. It allows extremists to be elected to Congress, because they have no reason to ever compromise. Republican voters simply don't care what their representative does in Congress as long as they show sufficient hatred for Democrats.

Hence, we end up with ridiculous death threats for Republicans in Congress who had the audacity to vote for Biden's infrastructure bill.

I seem to remember how angry republicans got when Kathy Griffin posted that photo of her holding Trump's decapitated head, and she is an actual comedienne.

And she was raked over the coals and basically canceled as a result: she lost her NYE hosting gig w/ CNN, she couldn't book shows anywhere, etc. She has had to slowly claw her way back professionally and is still trying to recover from it...

No argument. My schlitzhead rep., David Joyce, showed such courage when he voted “present.” What a collection of a$$hats.

I'm about to not give a fork either. I already devoted 5 years to fighting ignorance. If we really end up in a worse place after only 2 years because Americans voted for it, fork it. We deserve it because we're stipid. I'll just be looking out for myself.

We need a bill that goes into effect a year before the 2024 election that makes every single internal email of every Rep and Senator and their staffers made public. And the personal emails of just the Reps and Senators.

We can blot out the names and words of any private citizens they may have been corresponding with.

That would be the smoothest way to burn it down and start over. I think a cycle where 80%+ of incumbents lose us what we need.

I didn't know Kathy Griffin was a member of Congress.

    False equivalency.

The point is that Meadows and others downplayed Gosar's action as a joke. So it was a joke when Gosar did it but an abomination when Griffin did much the same. If such a joke is ok for a member of congress, then it should certainly be ok when coming from an actual comedienne.

It's an example of the constant stream of hypocrisy coming from the right. Like this morning, for example, I was reading the following FOX article:

    Oh! The humanity!

So Biden's New Hampshire visits have cost the taxpayers $3 million in total expenses after 43 weeks in office, yet you never heard a peep from FOX regarding the estimated $141+ million Trump cost tax payers for his 295+ golf outings trips during his presidency alone. Rather audacious of FOX to present this as a slight against Biden considering, don't you think? You know, considering it would take something like 50 years in office for Biden to spend what Trump did on personal trips in just 4 years.

Ah! You have encountered “Bird’s Theorem”. What is Bird’s theorem you ask? “‘We The People’ are stupid.”

Here is the more serious problem that you won't acknowledge -- Why did only 2 Republican members of Congress reprimand Gosar for his reprehensible behavior?

If a Democrat did something as reprehensible as Gosar, virtually evey Democrat in Congress would have voted to remove that person from his/her committees. The feeble Republican Majority "Leader" Kevin McCarthy is too spineless to even issue a statement criticizing Gosar's behavior.

These weak attempts to "normalize" the dangerous and disgusting Trump Cult Republican Party are so pathetic. The mental gymnastics that you have to perform to make your case are truly sad.

Why wouldn't I acknowledge it? I agree with you.

My case? I think you must have misread my posts. Seems to me that we are on the same side on this.
