This organisation and its reach is seriously scary. When the head of the New York Police Department's second-largest police union openly shows his support of this "organisation" then something is seriously wrong!

The head of the New York Police Department's second-largest police union gave a television interview Friday afternoon while sitting in front of a mug emblazoned with QAnon imagery and slogans.

The mug behind Mullins featured the word "QANON" and the hashtag #WWG1WGA, which stands for "where we go one, we go all," a popular slogan among QAnon supporters. At the center of the mug was a large letter Q, which refers to a supposed government insider who, according to QAnon supporters, posts cryptic clues on the Internet about the "deep state."

More than a year ago, the FBI reportedly assessed that QAnon was a dangerous movement that was likely to inspire its most extreme members to commit violent acts of domestic terrorism.

In recent weeks, QAnon supporters have been posting videos of themselves reciting an oath and repeating the "where we go one, we go all" catchphrase that is seen on the mug. They say they are preparing "digital soldiers" for an apocalyptic reckoning, when thousands of "deep state" pedophiles will be arrested and prosecuted at military courts at Guantanamo Bay.

It’s totally fair based on the information you yourself provided. Even if the one guy is a, gasp, germaphobe. The Qanon BS is dangerous and potentially violent, it has also destroyed families, friendships and the like….both sides my arse…..
I think one of the problems with social media and our society is this. Based on very little info, we put people into boxes. Then when it happens to us, we proclaim, “how dare someone put me into this box”.

In fairness, Qanon is it's own box.

Anyone in the Qanon box is someone I would be very wary of….I really don’t need to know much more about a person who believes this lunacy….based on very little info? A Q follower is not a “little info” no matter how much you may want it to be….

No need to be confrontational with me. I have no desire for anything that has been discussed. I know these guys very well. I hope I never make assumptions about people with only knowing 1 thing about them. As in the guy who wears a mask outside being a germaphobe. Another assumption based on very little info. And one that is for the most part wrong.

So you volunteer that this guy is “off the deep end” into Q, then get up on your high horse when people take you at your word?

Q is a dangerous cult-like movement. Its stock in trade is violent fantasies about public executions of a whole bunch of people. From politicians to actors to doctors. It is also pushing anti-Semitic tropes and ideas.

If he is truly into Q like you said, it’s no laughing matter. If you misspoke, it’s a weird thing to do to not clarify and instead to tut-tut at everyone for “judging” without knowing, when all we did was take you at your word.

My word is that he reads the q stuff daily and knows all of the crazy conspiracies. That said, he isn’t violent, he doesn’t donate to any causes, he lives a perfectly normal life, just like the other guy who wears a mask. Just because he is into that doesn’t mean he is a bad guy.

If I told you the mask wearer has a swastika on his left forearm, does that change your opinion of “which guy is worse?”.

Would any of us want to be labeled by the ridiculous things that each of us are into?

I’m not on a high horse by any means. Some of you are more judgmental than I personally think is warranted. But those who are this way are entitled to be this way. None of my business.

You will never know Ryan or Doug, and what strangers wrongly think about them is irrelevant to them. So……carry on.

Excuse me, you accuse me of everything that is wrong because folks make assumptions based on little information and you get defensive?

And you missed the sarcasm on the germaphobe comment…like totally man…

One of my childhood friends whom I reconnected with a few years ago is a Q fanatic, I no longer consider him a friend….it is nothing to take lightly….but you do you….

Perhaps your definition of ”off the deep end” is different from any one rational?

If he is into Q stuff then he is somewhere along the path of radicalization.

Most of the Q people who become willing to commit violence don't start out willing.

Can you please provide the mass examples of this the 10 of millions of Q followers committing violence. Isn’t this thinking the opposite of what is being proposed in the BLM thread?

The Q movement is a classic min/max play. Take the smallest morsel of info and turn it into a conspiracy. These are the fringes that attempt to define society.

I have a coworker who is off the deep end with this stuff. I love him and he is a great dude. But whacko I tell ya. He provides us great entertainment.

We have another guy at work who is an overboard Covid guy. (Wears his mask outside). Another great guy, who I respect. He is much more reserved than the other, just his personality during the day. But at lunch time, lol. These two provide a sitcom at least 2 days a week.

Heck, both of these guys seem to be good fathers, husbands etc. Both are GREAT producers for our company and work very well together in projects. Just total opposite quack jobs.

    That’s not what I said.

BLM has some extremists for sure, but their cause is real.

Q isn’t about anything real. 100% of Q true believers are mentally ill and are being taken advantage of.

Nice to meet you. I wasn’t trying to claim equivalence. I was telling a story. I didn’t intend to cause a stir. Obviously the mention of Q is a trigger point for some of you. That wasn’t my intent.

Reread your post. I’m just looking for the examples that you stated. If there is radicalism, what is the impact of radicalism? If it’s violence, where is it? With millions of followers, it should be an easy find.

I think you should reread the posts. Sam said:

Do you see the difference between those two statements?

Edit: As for examples of people being radicalized by Q, I direct you Parler, Gab, and the events of January 6, 2021, at the U. S. Capitol Building.

Again 10 of millions of followers. And that is all you have. There are probably more, just not many. Same as the BLM protest. I understand what he is saying, but I also see the games that some play when they attempt to manipulate the narrative.

We can debate the merits of Q vs BLM (not that I want to have that debate), however it is clear that calling those who follow Q as radicalized on their way to violent acts is just an over statement. They may have crazy ideas in their thoughts, but where is the actual impact other than the farce of January 6.

I can list quite a few articles about BLM protest that turned violent. Yet this board says that the harm done by BLM protest are over sensationalized, yet Q followers, with virtually no crime outside of a handful of idiots on January, are the radicalized ones on their way to violent acts?

Some of the population despises those who follow Q so much, they have little consistency in their thought process. In my opinion, this creates advocacy problems when attempting to sell or justify their agenda.
