Thought we should start thread here - over weekend, US carried out strikes against Houthi elements in Yemen in retaliation for their actions in Red Sea.

This morning Trump took to Truth Social:



So any missile/shot fired from Houthi elements in Yemen will be considered coming from Iran. Obviously this is wrought with problems, but we know Houthis will respond and continue attacks.

So then what does this mean for Iran? Lots to unpack, but seems to me that the NO WAR POTUS is hell bent on getting into yet ANOTHER conflict in the ME. He is backing himself into a corner with statements and we could find ourselves embroiled in ME conflict again.

Jaysus. I could never have imagined a day where the PUSA speaks that way. Just unbelievable....I wonder how is MAGA base feels about his use of the F bomb. I already know they are fine with actual bombs, but I have found them to clutch pearls pretty hard about foul language.

Anyway....posts like this EXACTLY explain why the level of discourse with MAGA types has gotten so bad. When your leader talks like this....why do you ever need to be civil?

I think for a majority of them, the tough-talking tone directed at “enemies” will overshadow his chosen words. Will be interesting to see what, if any, backlash emanates from his base.

The obvious hope has to be that this is more bluster, even though that isn’t without consequences.

If the United States does go through with this, it, along with an anticipated retaliatory response from Iran, will be a global economic catastrophe.

I know we've all said it, many times, and I know the point doesn't really need any emphasising at all at this point, but given something like this I think it still has to be said, and in all caps too:

None...his base gets off on spewing black smoke from their trucks on Priuses...his base rides around with stickers that say "F Joe Biden" or "Joe and the Hoe"....his base has flags on their homes that depict Trump shirtless riding an Eagle screwing a Bear...its who they are...they love it.
