Daily Beast: “J.D. Vance suggested he would support prohibiting abortion even in cases of rape and incest—and dismissed those catalysts as ‘inconvenient.’”

Do you think that Biden knew he was going to step down long before he did but held off announcing it so that Trump would base his VP pick on Biden running?

This is from a while ago, with all the old video clips that have surfaced since I can't imagine these numbers are any better

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) has been making headlines for his “rocky rollout” since being named former President Donald Trump’s running mate last month. The bad headlines and poll numbers have been driven by Vance’s extreme comments about “childless cat ladies,” abortion, and more. Well, along with extreme comments, Vance has some extreme investments.

Vance has had a six-figure stake in Rumble, an online video platform. The company has played host to Russian propaganda and to far-right personalities like Stew Peters and Tim Pool. It has also featured even more extreme content, including explicitly neo-Nazi images and themes like this song touting the “Reich” and calling for Jews to be placed in ovens from a “dissident rapper” with a dedicated page on the site.

The site features a plethora of channels and videos dedicated to the concept of “white genocide,” which is a core belief for white supremacists. It also hosts channels for explicitly white supremacist organizations including VDare and Patriot Front, which has led masked demonstrations around the country. ............

Vance has not yet filed required financial disclosures for last year. He sought an extension in April. His most recent disclosure, which covered 2022, showed the Rumble investment.

The stake is notable because it represents a direct financial link between Vance and a key outlet for some of the most extreme elements of the far right. Vance’s stake in Rumble was the subject of a New York Times piece during his Senate race in 2022. That story focused on Rumble hosting the Kremlin-backed propaganda network RT, but gave less attention to the extensive hate speech on the site...........

While the bad headlines have seemingly led Vance’s political stock to drop among some Republicans, shares in Rumble have fared far better. According to CNBC Pro, Rumble stock went up 17 percent on the week Trump picked Vance. The movement prompted a note from JP Morgan analyst Kamal Tamboli, who said the surge was a “quarterly record” for the extremist platform...........

He thinks women should stay in abusive relationships “for the children” so nothing is surprising with him. I think it’s pretty clear that his apparently tumultuous upbringing has thoroughly warped his perception of people and family life. He absolutely does not need to be in any role that participates in the governing of other people’s lives. His beliefs make him unfit.

They need to start banging on the "this couch forker is one Big Mac and Diet Coke away from the Presidency" drum like now.
Good point, especially with Trump's age and lifestyle, he may not finish another term, so Vance could easily become president.

I'm actually a bit curious why he holds this particular worldview and is so adamant about it
My belief is that it is tied to the Great Replacement trope. But who can be sure? I do know that Vance is echoing words from the Immigrant Panic in the late 1800s. Oddly, a lot of the MAGAs buying into it now may have had great-grandparents who were the targets back then.

This thread gives the history, I have only linked first 2 tweets:

The is the Democrats plan. There isn't anything subtle about it.

First of all, you're pasting a Heritage Foundation economist. You know, one of those Project 2025 guys you are trying to run away from.

Second, you're saying that "native born" citizens are somehow more valuable that "foreign born" citizens. Why is that?

Citizens are citizens. If anything, we need MORE foreign born citizens to support our Social Security and Medicare system. But I know you and Vance want a Christo-Fascist country in which only good, Christian, right-leaning folks have a bunch of babies to replace the need for immigrants - while "the blacks" and "Mexicans" have less babies, because you're mad your tax dollars support them.

JD Vance has come up with his own, somewhat unusual explanation for the ongoing attempts by the Harris campaign to brand him and Donald Trump as “weird.”

The Republican vice presidential nominee laughed while discussing the Democrats’ new attack line against him, before suggesting that the label had been created by “social mediainterns” who had been “bullied in school.”

The Harris for President campaign has ramped up attacks on Vance and Trump in recent days, with the label of “weird,” though seemingly innocuous, having stuck.

“I certainly know the Kamala campaign wants to call me weird,” Vance said, during a recent episode of the Full Send podcast.

“I don’t know if it’s something they focus-grouped and pushed on us. I’m a pretty normal guy, I’ve got a wife and kids and I like to hang out and watch football. And I care about this stuff because I care about the country.”

He continued: “My best guess — this is just a total guess — is that her campaign is run by a lot of 24-year-old social media interns who maybe were bullied in school and so now they’ve decided they’re going to do the same thing.

“They’re going to take that attitude of the middle school social scene and try to run a campaign on it… I just don’t think most Americans buy it or care.”……..

That right there is what's called defensive psychological projection.

Did the Democrats not realize how they are opening themselves up to highlighting all the crazy people or things the left tries to claim is normal?

At least Vance can speak intelligently without a binder or a teleprompter. They are hiding Harris for a reason.
