The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

......On Monday of National Consumer Protection Week, President Trump announced that he was nominating Nancy Beck, a former chemical industry executive who supports laxer regulation of toxic chemicals, to chair the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

This independent agency is tasked with protecting the public from any dangers posed by the thousands of products it oversees — including dangers posed by toxic chemicals.

She would be, in other words, a fox overseeing a henhouse.........

    Right over their heads....
I think most of us get the humor, and can see the difference between what Trump said in that video (which I admit is pretty funny) and the times when he's outright lying and gaslighting.

I have my doubts about whether y'all can really tell the difference though, since y'all don't seem to take his non-jokey lies seriously either.

I love how he says he didn’t start the name calling, he’s just responding in kind

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) — President Donald Trump defended the administration’s response to the coronavirus and his confrontational style of name-calling political opponents as he fielded questions Thursday from select members of the public in his first TV town hall of the 2020 election cycle.

Trump, who regularly calls his top Democratic presidential opponents “Sleepy Joe” and “Crazy Bernie,”was asked whether he could deliver his message without the controversial rhetoric.

“When they hit us, we have to hit back. I really feel that,” Trump said in response to the first of two questions about civility. “You can’t turn your cheek.”............

That's the Associate Press take on an event that was hosted on Fox.
Let's see what Fox says, in comparison, since they actually hosted the town hall event.

President Trump, speaking at a Fox News Town Hall in Joe Biden's hometown of Scranton, Pa., on Thursday evening, openly suggested that the new Democratic front-runner's repeated gaffes could be a sign of a competency issue -- honing a line of attack that Republicans are expected to repeatedly deploy if Biden becomes his party's nominee.

Trump also wasted little time in criticizing ex-rival Elizabeth Warren's decision to drop out of the race only after Super Tuesday, saying she may have sabotaged Bernie Sanders' struggling presidential bid by siphoning the progressive vote.

The setting was more casual and conversational than Trump's boisterous rallies, and afforded the commander-in-chief an opportunity to connect directly with voters on camera.

"Bernie Sanders would have won five, six, seven states," Trump remarked. "When you look at it, she did him no favors. That was not a good friendship. We started to see that during the debates, by the way. It became unhinged."

Trump went on to argue that Biden was "damaged" by the impeachment process that implicated his son Hunter in apparent overseas corruption while Biden was vice president. "They aimed at Trump and they took Biden down," the president said.

Tangentially, defense attorneys usually say their client is innocent
Sometimes the client is not innocent

Good call. I, too, look for the Fox News take after I disagree with the Associated Press and their damn unbiased reporting.

    Tangentially,
    Says Trump supporters
This has nothing whatsoever to do with who supports whom.
When reviewing reports about an occurrence, go as close to the original source as possible, then work outward.
Example: For a FoxNews Town Hall, reference the FoxNews report first, then check what AP, CNN, UPI, etc., have to say.

And now that you've read both the AP and Fox reports what is your takeaway?

My takeaway is still the same. The Fox link is the source document and Fox holds the rights to the original unedited town hall interview.
AP link is analysis of what was originally presented on Fox, as such, it's second-hand news.

Fox is going to do a second town hall with Bernie Sanders. The actual town hall and write up by Fox would be the preferred source to start out, then AP, UPI, etc.

Are you saying AP has biased reporting?
No, I'm saying that whenever possible, go to the source first. The AP report is simply second-hand news in this case.

Does AP have biased reporting? Everybody has biased reporting in one way or another. That's why you start with the original source first and work your way out from there.
