The football board had the very useful Daily Trump Tracker thread, which was a good place to briefly discuss the latest ridiculous thing that might have ended 97% of prior Presidential administrations even if it didn't necessarily justify an entire thread devoted to it in 2017-2019 (because of the sheer volume of these things). Since I don't see anything like that here already, I'll add one myself.

That's the direct cost of the water coming from a subsidized entity. It's not the complete cost and it isn't a very good indicator of potential savings over an entire nation. More importantly, the investment in policy over a national entity isn't tailored to unique localities and the waste of time and resources necessary to avoid this one colloquial example you've cited would be orders more and inconsistent to the point of being ridiculous.
And that, my friends is why centrally controlled policies are so inefficient. It's why the Soviet Union failed.

From the of perspective of the soldiers trying to wash a week's worth of caked on sweat and body fluids in Louisiana's climate, policies written for saving water in California sucked.

Indeed. It’s a very dangerous slippery slope implementing measures to use resources more efficiently. I think I’ll go watch Red Dawn now.

We sometimes had soldiers from other states complaining that we served too much rice and not enough potatoes in the the dining facility. One went so far as to cite some obscure regulation, claiming we had to serve potatoes.

"This is Louisiana. We grow rice. Potatoes tend to rot. Get over it," the commader responded.

Then, they demanded hash browns instead of grits with breakfast. :hihi:

Is he implying this is due to his admin? What have they dont to increase the cancer survival rate? How have costs changed? My guess is, not for the better...

Yeah....and here's the best part. Here's an article about the general trend of cancer deaths dropping for about 30 years.....The very first sentence:

"Cancer death rates in the United States took their sharpest drop on record between 2016 and 2017, according to an analysis by the American Cancer Society."

The Trump administration is seeking to delay a Democratic effort to require the Secret Service to disclose how much it spends protecting President Trump and his family when they travel — until after the 2020 election, according to people familiar with the discussions......

Sorry Trump you need to disclose that shirt. Matter of fact I want to know where every single penny goes.

Did he really ask a crowd if they were happy with their 409K's? I just saw something about this but it didn't have a source.

It's inefficient to run any organization that is far flung, but uniformity is the standard practice for a reason.

It allows someone to nitpick it, but surely you wouldn't rather let each facility pick and choose so there was no standard or continuity.

And, let's face it. You're taking the most extreme situation and attempting to universalize it.

Let me guess . . . You prefer hash browns over grits. :)

Louisiana environmental policies don’t even work for Louisiana
    So what now?
Kansas gets to set a pesticide runoff policy that’s cool for them that ***** is
    So now what?
