The 501c3 exemption should be eliminated. Political organizations do not perform/donate monies for charitable work at all, let alone 50+%. In point of opinion, I would erase the entire concept of charities being tax-exempt. The same applies to charitable deductions. This smells alot like what the Obama administration did to the Tea Party 5013c organizations. It was abusive and wrong then and a similar poicy from the right targeting left leaning organizations is equally wrong and abusive.
A lot of the deductibility of charitable deductions was reduced when the did the last round of tax reform. As for totally eliminating charitable deductions, that will still face some stiff opposition IMO. There are many organizations that provide valuable service outside of politics that depend on charitable contributions. St Jude Children’s Hospital for example. The 501c3 exemption should be eliminated. Political organizations do not perform/donate monies for charitable work at all, let alone 50+%. In point of opinion, I would erase the entire concept of charities being tax-exempt. The same applies to charitable deductions.

He has the title. That's all he cares about. All he wants is to hear applause from his cult.Basically, Trump’s financial appointments are all over the place. Suggesting he doesn’t have a concrete view or plan, and will rather sit back and enjoy watching his appointees work against each other because they have competing ideologies. Just like his first term.
The contradictions of Trumponomics over tariffs lie exposed
This week is a sobering reminder of the uncertainties of US policy to comewww.ft.com
“The main conclusion from this week is that, as in Hollywood, nobody knows anything. The one pretty safe bet is that Trump will use tariffs over the next four years. But it is very unclear how they might be employed, or for what end, or what other economic and financial tools might also be deployed, or whom he will be listening to at any given time. This week is a warning to anyone who thinks they have the Trump administration all figured out. They do not.”
And the portion of the electorate that voted for him, along with, I would bet, some percentage of those who didn’t vote at all just give him all the groveling and adulation that they can.He has the title. That's all he cares about. All he wants is to hear applause from his cult.
This will fly like a lead balloonDonald Trump and his team are reportedly debating “how much” to invade Mexico once he takes office, a new report claims.
Trump and his transition team staff are discussing a “soft invasion” of the country, Rolling Stone reports. These conversations come after Trump promised to “wage war” on drug cartels in Mexico both during his first term and on the campaign trail.
“How much should we invade Mexico?” a senior Trump transition member told Rolling Stone. “That is the question.”
This “soft invasion” would involve American special forces assassinating cartel leaders in Mexico, another source close to the president-elect told Rolling Stone.……

How frigging naive do some people have to be?Gosh, some union steelworkers who supported Trump feel betrayed?
“On Monday night, President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his opposition to the proposed $14.9 billion sale of U.S. Steel to Japan’s Nippon Steel Co., vowing to block the deal when he takes office.
Some steelworkers in Pittsburgh’s Mon Valley who support the deal — and Trump — weren’t happy.
“I am very frustrated with the news that came out last night,” United Steelworkers Local 2227 Vice President Jason Zugai said during a panel discussion Tuesday in Washington, D.C. “I didn’t expect that to come out. So that was like a gut punch.””
'Gut punch': Trump upsets local union leaders by opposing U.S. Steel-Nippon deal

Evidently this deal faces bi-partisan opposition so it may be good that Trump now opposes it. But what he did was tell the local leadership that he wasn’t opposed to the deal, and would look at it again after the election, while the Biden admin just opposed the deal from the beginning.
Why would anyone take Trump’s word at this point? Zugai organized local support for Trump before the election based on his belief that Trump would eventually support the sale. He got conned.
