I don’t think this fits into any current thread - it’s not an appointment or anything. Maybe a thread to keep track of his proposals and whether they are implemented?

Far from Russian.

I am the most left person on this boards.

I am ready for America to get what she deserves,

We deserve the carnage we are about to endure.

You sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind.

This smells alot like what the Obama administration did to the Tea Party 5013c organizations. It was abusive and wrong then and a similar poicy from the right targeting left leaning organizations is equally wrong and abusive.
The 501c3 exemption should be eliminated. Political organizations do not perform/donate monies for charitable work at all, let alone 50+%. In point of opinion, I would erase the entire concept of charities being tax-exempt. The same applies to charitable deductions.

A lot of the deductibility of charitable deductions was reduced when the did the last round of tax reform. As for totally eliminating charitable deductions, that will still face some stiff opposition IMO. There are many organizations that provide valuable service outside of politics that depend on charitable contributions. St Jude Children’s Hospital for example.

I don’t have an issue with eliminating the deductibility of political organizations. That would be an interesting debate.

WASHINGTON — Within hours of taking office as president, Donald Trump plans to roll out a flurry of executive actions aligned with his campaign promises, imposing more socially conservative health care policies on the U.S. military and setting in motion the large-scale deportation of people living in the country illegally.

NBC News spoke with more than half a dozen people familiar with transition planning who outlined a number of quick actions Trump plans to take to signal a dramatic break from President Joe Biden’s administration, which Trump claimed was leading the country to ruin.

Americans will see the new Trump administration enact changes at a pace that is “like nothing you’ve seen in history,” a Trump campaign official said.

Trump is preparing on Day One to overturn specific policies put in place by Biden, with plans to end travel reimbursement for military members seeking abortion care and to restrict transgender service members’ access to gender-affirming care, two people familiar with the plans said.

But much of the first day is likely to focus on stopping illegal immigration — the centerpiece of Trump’s candidacy. He is expected to sign up to five executive orders aimed at dealing with that issue alone after he is sworn in on Jan. 20, three Trump allies said on condition of anonymity.

By contrast, that is as many orders as he signed on all issues during the first week of his last term.

“There will without question be a lot of movement quickly, likely Day One, on the immigration front,” a top Trump ally said. “There will be a push to make a huge early show and assert himself to show his campaign promises were not hollow.” .............

All Trump officials talk like he does don’t they? Sorta funny - like nothing you’ve ever seen. Just hollow words that mean nothing.

Basically, Trump’s financial appointments are all over the place. Suggesting he doesn’t have a concrete view or plan, and will rather sit back and enjoy watching his appointees work against each other because they have competing ideologies. Just like his first term.

“The main conclusion from this week is that, as in Hollywood, nobody knows anything. The one pretty safe bet is that Trump will use tariffs over the next four years. But it is very unclear how they might be employed, or for what end, or what other economic and financial tools might also be deployed, or whom he will be listening to at any given time. This week is a warning to anyone who thinks they have the Trump administration all figured out. They do not.”

He has the title. That's all he cares about. All he wants is to hear applause from his cult.

And the portion of the electorate that voted for him, along with, I would bet, some percentage of those who didn’t vote at all just give him all the groveling and adulation that they can.

Of course, that isn’t enough for his damaged ego.

Donald Trump and his team are reportedly debating “how much” to invade Mexico once he takes office, a new report claims.

Trump and his transition team staff are discussing a “soft invasion” of the country, Rolling Stone reports. These conversations come after Trump promised to “wage war” on drug cartels in Mexico both during his first term and on the campaign trail.

“How much should we invade Mexico?” a senior Trump transition member told Rolling Stone. “That is the question.”

This “soft invasion” would involve American special forces assassinating cartel leaders in Mexico, another source close to the president-elect told Rolling Stone.……

This will fly like a lead balloon

Gosh, some union steelworkers who supported Trump feel betrayed? 🤦‍♀️

“On Monday night, President-elect Donald Trump reiterated his opposition to the proposed $14.9 billion sale of U.S. Steel to Japan’s Nippon Steel Co., vowing to block the deal when he takes office.

Some steelworkers in Pittsburgh’s Mon Valley who support the deal — and Trump — weren’t happy.

“I am very frustrated with the news that came out last night,” United Steelworkers Local 2227 Vice President Jason Zugai said during a panel discussion Tuesday in Washington, D.C. “I didn’t expect that to come out. So that was like a gut punch.””

Evidently this deal faces bi-partisan opposition so it may be good that Trump now opposes it. But what he did was tell the local leadership that he wasn’t opposed to the deal, and would look at it again after the election, while the Biden admin just opposed the deal from the beginning.

Why would anyone take Trump’s word at this point? Zugai organized local support for Trump before the election based on his belief that Trump would eventually support the sale. He got conned.

How frigging naive do some people have to be?

If only people knew that Trump was a self serving liar before the election

I get that.

That being said, they will happily risk much because Vance is the crown prince. Beyond that, I would be unsurprised if Trump attempts to run again claiming that the two term limit means two consecutive terms. With the corrupt SCOTUS I would be unsurprised if they ruled that way. I am not saying they would but…
